How do you think Britain would have viewed George Washington and the rest of the American revolutionary forces? It really does depend on one's point of view.
That is so off-topic as to be laughable. Someone clearly doesn't understand the concept being discussed.

| Terrorist Freedom Fighter Insurgents Difference?! Posted: 2/4/2006 6:48:06 PM | Maybe the Iraqis don't want to live under the US puppet regime that we've installed.
So why did 60%+ Iraqis (holding up their purple fingers) vote in the election to start their first government. and the Kurds creating a commercial that said "Thank You America" seems like the only ones that are upset with the US is "insurgents AKA Saddam Henchmen" They could have all protested and carried signs saying we want vote until the US Military goes home.
You do know it is now up to the new Iraqi government how long our troops stay?

That's so retro!! Love that cool broken-record effect! (Although hearing the same thing repeated umpteen times does get boring after a while... )

I haven't heard too much after the election, its my understanding that the person voted in is backed by Iran. If that's the case and in light of recent events do you honestly believe the US military will leave when asked?

look up 1982, Iraq, and Mustard gas on Google.... you'll see that Saddam Hussein Dropped Mustard Gas on HIS own country... ever see us doing that???
US has done bad things to its citizens too.
CIA mind control project MK Ultra: People were unknowingly dosed with LSD to see what kind of effects it could have. http://www.parascope.com/ds/mkultra0.htm
The Tuskeegee Experiment: 399 black men with syphilis were told they were getting treated for the disease but instead were given ineffective dosages of treatment or aspirin. The goal was to see how the disease would effect the men. Even after a cure was found these men weren't given the cure. In fact 250 of the men registered for the draft and were ordered to get the treatment. These men were exempted from getting the cure. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0762136.html
The US government released radiation in the atmosphere in several states without notifying citizens. They also injected subjects (unknowingly) with plutonium to see the effects it would have on the human body. In one school for retarded kids radioactive materials were put in their oatmeal. This following site also alludes to testing mustard gas on people. http://wovoca.com/hidden-history-secret-government-experiments.htm
The US government actively supported Saddam's use of chemical and biological agents against Iran and the Kurds. http://www.iranchamber.com/history/articles/arming_iraq.php
And we wonder why Iran hates us...

Yes, I believe we would leave because the Sunni Triangle is the remaining unstable region The US military is Kuwait, Afganastan, and Qtar have been invited us to stay in their countries. The military forces currently in Qatar are the ones that were in Saudi Arabia .

Qatar is trying to build something for its population They have two major Universities over their Texas A&M University and Cornell University
DOHA, Qatar - At first glance, Education City doesn't look much like an American university campus: There are palm trees where the ivy-covered Greek columns should be and sun-baked dirt instead of rolling college greens. But inside modernistic white buildings are pieces of Pittsburgh, Ithaca, N.Y., and other U.S. university towns: fully functioning mini-campuses of four major American educational institutions. Washington-based Georgetown University, which was founded by Jesuit priests, has been in long-running negotiations to join Carnegie-Mellon, Cornell Medical School, Texas A&M University and Virginia Commonwealth University on the edge of the Arabian peninsula. "There has been stereotyping (between the Arab and Western worlds). ... We would like to break that. We are showing the best of the American system here," said Dr. Mohammed Fathy Saoud, higher education adviser to the nonprofit Qatar Foundation, which oversees Education City and other projects. http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington/11405498.htm?template=contentModules/printstory.jsp
See they are all Arabs however they do not trust each other.

So I guess that means that 40% of Iraqis are insurgents.
No, however many who did not vote were probably scared they would have been killed by insurgent’s homicide bombers or car bombs.

| Terrorist Freedom Fighter Insurgents Difference?! Posted: 2/4/2006 7:52:44 PM | CountIbli,
Were members of the French Resistance (who killed French collaborators) terrorists or freedom fighters?
Neither wat we call the French Resitanc ewas actually known as the French Forces of the Interior (FFI) and were considere dthe arm of the elgitamte French Goverment in exile and were afforded international recognition. In effec tthey were 5th colum troops of the goverment.
Slippery slope you've climbed onto there. Would the Confederacy be freedom fighters then? How about Puerto Rican, or American Somoan attacks on government targets. They don't get any real representation, just some token votes that don't count for anything.
Under intenrational alw it depends on the targets of the attacks and how they were carried out. If they obeyed the LOAC then thier freedom fighter if they didn't then they are terrorist.
Why ar eso many liberals ahvign trouble tellignt he differance between some oen who uses the deaht of civillians to forc epolitcla change with those who fight what they beleive to be oppression in accordance with international law and treaty?
Say all the right to lifer stied on white arm bands and attakc police stations and military bases in an efort to defea tthe govemrent and instill themselves as the nations leaders or to force politcal change through victory on the battlefeild, thats a rebellion. When memebers from the same movement bomb clinics or shoot doctors to intimidate thats terrorism.

| Terrorist Freedom Fighter Insurgents Difference?! Posted: 2/4/2006 8:38:11 PM | Bush is a terrorist because he borrowed and spent from the future more money then all other presidents combined. He did it by using convertible gold short debt creation and off balance sheet accounting. Under his administration there is no prohibition to financial slavery or involuntary monetary servitute. The Constitution is a god dam piece of paper in the eyes of this administration and so is Consitutional money (gold + silver). Now that our 8,000 ton monetary gold reserve has been leased (sold) and replaced with a 16,000 ton deep storage gold sold forward (an IOU), the creditors are forclosing by deindustrializing the USA and indebting the people to their very own real estate. During the last 10 years our biggest export was gold at a rate of an average of 110 tons a month, just to pay interest on our debt. This can not continue. Bush's WTC demolition to steal Europe's 2854 tons of gold will buy us some time, but just a little over two years.
Now that Greenspan is gone, the words, "gold unlike paper assets is not someon elses liability make a lot of sense. Gold does not rely on a balance sheet for value for it backs itself. Unlike stocks, bonds, gold can not be victimized by creative bookeeping. Gold as gold speaks only of yellow metal, a truth lost as often as money, by the players in derivative leveraged credit banking system."
Bin Laden compared to Bush is a saint, because Bin Laden would never screw the people like Bush has to financial debt and slavery for generations to come. Bin Laden may be labeled a terrorist by Bush, but Bush should look in the mirror to see just who the biggest terrorist is. I am not saying that Bin Laden is not a terrorist for it is our tax $'s funding his cause.

| Terrorist Freedom Fighter Insurgents Difference?! Posted: 2/5/2006 5:42:16 AM | No longer use Gold Standard
Modern monetary policy does not involve gold to a great extent. In 1968, the United States rescinded its promise to pay in gold and effectively removed itself from the "gold standard". Since then, it has been the job of the Federal Reserve to control the amount of money and credit in the U.S. economy. I doing this, it wants to maintain the purchasing power of the U.S. dollar and its comparative worth to other currencies. This might sound easy, but it is a complex task in an information age where huge amounts of money travels in electronic signals in microseconds around the world.
No longer use Gold Standard

| Terrorist Freedom Fighter Insurgents Difference?! Posted: 2/5/2006 6:01:49 AM | It is strange to see things like Geneva Convention, LOAC, Rules of Warfare, etc etc mentioned here Well armed forces with overwhelming superioty are the only ones who stick to these rules at all, and only because they want to try and limit their own casualties, by removing the possibility of terrorist activity
Nelson Mandela, Robert Mugabe Terrorists or Freedom Fighters One is regarded as a wonderful man The other as a genocidal maniac But both were once called Terrorists Then called Freedom Fighters after their fight was recognised as 'just' [How proud we all should be of what we are letting Mugabe do to Zimbabwe??}
Most of the first Israeli Cabinet had been called Terrorists at one time or another
Viet Cong === Terrorists or Freedom Fighters History calls them Freedom Fighters, but the writers of the history books never visited a Vietnamese village where everyone had been slaughtered
With the huge increases in Islamic populations, the history books of the future may well be writen by them Then we may see Osama recognised as someone similar to George Washington
Whoever writes the books in fifty years time will decide Terrorist or Freedom Fighter .. .

It is all from which side you are standing on. but just because you call them insurgents doesnt mean they arent freedom fighters. Time and history will decide.
Exactly! All I would add is 'who writes history has more to do with how they are labeled in the long run'.

To the side that disagrees with them, they are an insurgent. To the side that wants everyone to disagree with them, they are a terrorist.
