| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 11:44:59 AM | | Tex, seems to me that your worry over your "horn dog" female friends turning into "old maids" might be a passive aggressive excuse for your own selfish desires. maybe you resent them being sexual, free, and wild with "young studs" because for whatever reason you won't allow yourself to enjoy your own singledom with the same lust for life they possess. holding a derogatory or pitying view of your lady friends certainly won't attract them to you...again i repeat...attitude, it's all about your attitude. | |

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 11:47:15 AM | "i find it interesting how some of the older guys in this thread project such bitterness and contempt for women in their 30s and 40s who prefer younger men. did you guys ever consider that perhaps women might just be weary of your issues, assumptions, and negativity...and that might be the reason that women of any age seem to be choosing men other than you?"
I'm assuming that wasn't directed at me. I hold no "contempt" for anybody doing what makes them happy. I just find the subject interesting, having dated an older woman, of course, slept with quite a few older women, having friends in their forties who are seeing younger men, and now being in my mid-thirties back in the dating scene after being out of it for a good while and shackled in chains that were my marriage.
I hope to get married again someday, not anytime soon. At this point in my life I have no "contempt" for women in their forties, or even early fifties, who like younger men. Hell, they serve their purpose right now at this point in my life. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Didn't see this until I my other post was put up. You're wrong. I've said to each his or her own more than once in this thread and everybody should do what makes them happy.
As far as the "old maid" comment, that's something I've heard from the very lips of my girlfriends, a fear they have. They've become used to just having meaningless sex, indulging in what you call, which I don't agree with, "lust for life they possess."
My thought is if they keep up their behavior they could become an old maid, but that's my opinion, bolstered by their comments saying that they're scared of it, also.

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 11:54:56 AM | | Tex, to quote your own remarks directed towards older women who prefer younger men, you call them.... "old maid", "old hag", "old relic trophy" and "antique". how does that not sound contemptuous? if you had respect, you would never use that sort of language even in jest...particularly when referring to your own female friends as examples in this thread. rethink those tactics perhaps. | |
|
| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 11:57:04 AM | | I've explained why I used the term "old hag" in a previous post, which also went to the reason I used "old relic, "trophy" and "antique." My tactics are just fine. But thanks for the advice. | |

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 11:59:32 AM | oh and just a little hint for people who might not know how to use the quote feature...
the code for quotes (minus the spaces) is... [ quote ] at the begining [ /quote ] at the end
puts a nice little box around the quote and makes it easier to read. just a helpful hint...not trying to be cheeky at all.

TY. I tried it, but didn't work. Ah, well. I'm tired. Might try later.
|
| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 12:01:33 PM | i still find your choice of language, regardless of your justification or excuse, very derogatory. as a woman who prefers younger men, i find that kind of bitter name-calling offensive. i refuse to accept those labels being applied to myself.
and re: using quotes.... *lol* fine by me if you don't like using the html code...but that's what it's there for. you need both the [ quote ] and [ /quote ] around the quotation to make it work. i tried to PM you with that tip Tex, but you block people from outside the US.

I can see where you would. But we have a few women in here dogging on old men, talking really negatively about them, saying some "bitter" things, so I just returned the favor, like I mentioned, for "sport."
My post wasn't singling you out. Though, I see your point.

Thanks, Crazycurlz. In another forum I post on I've been using html code for years. I didn't know it worked in here.
But on the other forum I go to you're able to put [quote=crazycurlz] to specifically show who the person you're quoting is. It doesn't work in here.
Why you saw me edit this thread a ton of times. But, thanks again.

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 12:16:40 PM | you're welcome...glad you found it helpful : )
and ya...it's too bad that you can't include the original poster's name in the quotation html here. i've tried it before too.

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 12:26:01 PM | Man I am dreading turning 38 next year and then 39 and then the big 4-0. I guess for sure after some comments here and on other threads I may just have to give up for good. Oh well when women base thier relationshiop on sex as they get older, will be interesting to see how many guys get kicked to the curb by the time they are 40. And the more older guys are put down by women the less chance we have to even try to impress a woman as she already has her mind made up and says she prefers young guys. Great world we live in. Question is, will women be blunt and shoot the men down based on them being too old? | |

NO, do not give up, you WILL find the RIGHT woman for you. It just takes looking in the right places, and not to mention patience. Not everyone out there can be shallow, i mean surely there are people that are not and are willing to like you for you and not about anything relating to your looks.

ya some women will...just like some men shoot women down for not being a size 2, with DD breasts, filled with silicone, and coated in glitter. but a self-defeating outlook will not make you appealing RW, be confident in who you are and you might be surprised at how much more attractive that can make you.

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 12:48:00 PM | See those can be encouraging words but is it not awaste of time when women so much prefer younger men? Is just setting one's self up for a fall immediately. And so then with that in mind, it becomes a less better chance of actually getting a positive result when women mostly will prefer men alot younger. I would say that the odds are against me at my age..if i was 27 then sure the odds are in my favour so I would have the confidence to approach any women of a y age more or less. Approaching a woman in her late 30's and 40's is going to result in a shot down result I would think. I am going by the many many women on this site that prefer them young. I might be surprised to have the same outcome as well if I was so confident too. Not a guarentee that I would have a better result. We are talking about women with their preferences set these days. Can hope they may take a chance but can't see it as those preferences are made by past experiences of better outcomes are they not? And what makes it better? Crazycurlz I will bet you would shun a guy my age over a guy 24 if both approached you...may be a bit of a nice ego boost that 2 guys with such an age gap liked you, but you would not give the old guy a fair chance, and why should you. They past guys were probably duds anyhow so that sets the tone. And being the fact women have become like men, good luck finding any who do not look at looks/physical attraction as the basis of if a guy is worthwhile...both genders are now the same...substance comes second it seems. Someone may not be gorgeous when you see them, but putting the time in to get to know them when something about thier personality interests you is not a bad thing...sadly more and more people overlook that and rely on the attraction being if he/she is good looking...and so I would say the young guys have that part won right there..whih is not a bad thing..it is a preference | |

I agree and that works both ways, older guys and older women being rejected because of their age, BUT you cannot give up and have that negative attitude about this, be happy with who you are and you will see things will improve for you. some people that judge you for silly things are just having shallow issues and are confused to be so blunt. But please don't let that bring you down. Let your heart shine.

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 12:52:04 PM | | RW i've gone out with and been attracted to men ranging from 18 to 43. true, i'm attracted to and get attention from younger men much more frequently than older men...but if i had 2 men (one in his early 20s and one in his late 30s) approach me, who i'd choose would depend more on attitude than the year listed on their birth certificates. | |
|
| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/3/2006 12:57:14 PM | I might someday see it different, but that may be when the 55 yr olds look to the 45 yr olds, so I may be in the older women liking middle aged men in another 7 years..then I may give more women the beneift of the doubt. Younger is better and right now I encourage it to many of my women friends my age. They say I am right... So I think no matter what a guy in his 30's or 40's could be a great guy, but a woman will find his flaws and rip him to shreds and then say "See these younger men do not have these" I may be wrong but I think we are dying off in the dating world. A good thing in the eyes of women though I bet. less bs to put up with. You all have your preferences and I respect that. Maybe soon that will include giving us guys a chance as well... Enjoy it crazycurlz cuz those hot young guys will also get old like us guys too. And obviously the few young guys have impressed the shit out of you, so that mean the old guys have alot of work to impress you for sure. I would try for a laugh because even if i was confident...many women like yourself have already shot me down in flames... | |

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/7/2006 6:00:24 PM | | I disagree..I think women go after younger men because they are more in touch with what they want and who they are..Its not denial of getting old but rather being honest with who you are and going after what you want...There are some older men or men my age who are more sedate, set in their ways, and too old fashioned/conservative for me so I would not date them | |

| Ladies who only date younger men Posted: 5/7/2006 9:11:21 PM | A BOY TOY ON THEIR ARM???????? I disagree, it has nothing to do with that at all! I date men as much as 10 years younger then myself mainly because my energy level is so high that younger men are the only ones that can keep up. By the time most men (NOT ALL) are my age they are ready to flop themselves on a couch and watch golf all day. Could that be any more boring? I have met many older men, my age and up at my job and it seems they all have the same thing in common,,,,the little blue pill!!! NO THANK YOU, if the man I'm dating has to take a pill to have sex, eeeeeewwww! The last guy I dated was 10 years younger than myself and in most cases people who did'nt know us thought we were the same age to look at us. By the way have you ever dated an older woman? Maybe you should give it a shot, you may be surprised by how much most woman over 40 have their heads on straight. Just my opionion, ya lil boy toy. | |

Yeah but here is the thing, when i man says the exact same thing that you just said then they are seen as irrational for wanting to date a younger women. The same goes for man now doesn't it?
We cannot have a double standard here!
If something is not good for one, let it not be good for the other also.
