He bought me flowers, took me to his place and played music and made my favorite drink, apple martini, blah blah blah. Everything was great. We spoke on the phone for the first week after. Then one day I call and he doesn't answer. Now we have spent a lot of time together and I thought things were great but you know the saying "if everything is too perfect, it's usually too good to be true." Well this was definitely the case. I found out he had a girlfriend and she found out about me. Drama, Drama, Drama..... He told me he was dating but not serious with the chick. It was terrible. Turned out he was only using me for sex because he said she wasn't appealing to him anymore, or ever. I was crushed but I learned fast that I had to give this guy up and I did. I would have never gotten involved with him if I knew he was really with someone. It hurt really bad and it turns out they are still together even though he claims they broke up after the first drama scene. I wonder why men have to play games like this. Give me the choice to be with someone with a girlfriend or not. | |

off to you. A lot of women in your situation wouldn't have been nearly so understanding.
Sounds like this guy has some personal issues that he needs to deal with, I wouldn't necessarily say he's "bad news" but I wouldn't say
you should consider pursuing anthing either, there's a whole lot of heartache down that road - for everyone involved. He may be in a mess in
his head and that may not be his fault - he may not have thought he was lying or playing games, his wife may have a skewed view of his
feelings, who can really tell? Anyway, long story short, you did the right thing, but don't necessarily judge this as "games". Most of these
"games" are subconscious reactions to a situation and how people have been groomed to react to them. People make bad decisions and
judgements all the time - we're all learning as we go along, there's no rule book. I can't count the amount of girls I've talked to that think
using sex and jealousy as a weapon to get or keep what they want is perfectly acceptable behaviour and would never consider this a game.
ANY form of manipulation is considered a game in my book.
I think the only thing you can do is be brutally honest with yourself and diplomatic with other people enough that you spare their feelings where,
when and as often as you can. | |

Posted: 7/2/2006 4:32:30 PM | ^^^unfortunately, it is highly doubtful it is a cool new trend. It is somewhat funny as men and women have to play a certain "game" at the beginning of a relationship - in order to "catch" him or her. Those games however are thought of as flirting and having fun.
From there forward, it is simply a lack of communication. It is difficult at times to open up to someone. You open up too much and they run, you don't open up enough and they run. It is a fine line, guess one just has to meet the person who is walking the same tightrope as they are? | |

Both men and women play mind games. Well mind games, or they're just lying about the type of person they are looking for, or will call for a second/third date. in the first place. I've found that for much part "good personality" doesn't mean he's got character, but really means "he knows how to tell me what I want to hear"...or "takes care of his body" doesn't mean he's somewhat fit but really means "he's got six pack abs".
When one of these profiles asks you to describe yourself, don't give what you think will attract the most people. If you have to say something bluntly, at least you'll get points for being honest, that way you won't get the messages you don't want, and you won't have to be a******** who plays mind games in the first place.
Personally, I don't like the bombshells. I like the girl-next-door sorta girl. Some meat but not overweight (I'm not a heavy guy myself). A girl who doesn't take an hour to get ready. A girl who will split the bill because she doesn't think that going out for dinner should be me paying for her time. But most of all someone who loves to talk and can take off colour jokes and can also laugh at the ridiculously random things I say sometimes. | |
