^..........personally, i do not agree that sven made a 'massive' improvement....regardless of how far they went, team-england was riddled with doubts..............in my book, the only team england had in recent times worthy of respect was the team of 1986.....when they were robbed against argentina........that was a team that played with guts.....if they could have beaten argentina back then, i think they would have gone all the way!........i think the verdict is still out on sven! | |

Personally I think it was only a matter of time, and look at all the foreign coaches in charge of top Premiership sides now. I couldn't care less what nationality he is if he is the right man for the job.
I dont think all that much of Sven myself, particularly considering what we are paying him but I don't see any English Managers around at the minute who can do a better job. Maybe Pearce in time but too early for him. I would fully expect the next England Manager to be foreign too and I don't have a problem with that | |

.......from my standpoint it seems a bit odd that a country with a strong football tradition and heritage should have the need to hire an outsider to run their national team!.......the fact that you say that there aren't any english managers around that can do a better job, seems to be a piss poor reflection on the caliber of england's coaching/managereal capabilities......which i would think is a bit shameful for your side!

.......it seems a bit fishy to me, as to why your FA would pay him that much.....i could understand it if he had WC experience and a great track record..........all i've known of him is that he was coaching AC roma for quite a few years and didn't win very many titles or accolades.....some pple wonder how he lasted that long there.

.........well, we all know that this didn't happen in 2002!.......lets hope the idiots at FIFA can smell the coffee (or, rather the bribes!) this time!
man for man, italy has the best team defense........so if they can stop the crafty brazilians or argentines then are knocking on the door of another championship.......there is no other european team that stands out as a threat.............i'll say this about team england, IF SVEN IS SMART, he will have them playing the same brand of defensive play as the italians.....and if it balances with their offense, then they MIGHT pose a threat!......but i don't think they have the same quality defensemen as the italians do, nor do they play as cohesively. | |
