Ohhh... that would be an awesome (but evil) plan to set up especially if you've never see him.... have your wing man be a total knob and then run off like that... then swoop in and save the day!

That is weird to say the least, I can't even think of a highschooler doing something like that, you're better off for sure.

In most cases I'd feel bad for u, thinking dang, that had to sting...but that sounds borderline retarded on his part. A turd indeed lol.

It's never happened to me because I won't meet any guy in person until I have his full name , home address and home telephone number. I check all for authenticity before I ever meet a guy from any of the Personals sites.

WOW! I feel like I just got in trouble...........tried to e-mail you, Hairdo, thinking that maybe you'd changed your restrictions so we girls could find out who this is............

It said you weren't accepting mail from my gender (or something like that) but then it said..........."Return to your inbox". YIKES!

Rouxx slinks away...........back to her inbox.

I am a strong woman..I just Dont get it when people feel they have to run away

Why did he "feel" he had to run away? You don't know?

When you do something bad, you run!

Spraypaint graffiti ... then run!
Ring random doorbells around the neigborhood ... then run!
Pull up the girl's skirt ... then run!
Steal from the store ... then run!
Get someone to pay for your food and drinks ... ?

Oh, yeah, this happened to me once, as well...but to add insult to injury, before he DID walk out on the tab, he made a huuuuge spectacle of himself, screamin', rantin' and ravin' in a local establishment about what a "filthy, disgusting excuse of a woman" I was...in front of Gawd and EVERYbody...thought I'd just diIiIie of embarrasment!

And what might I have done to evoke such a response from this...ummm.."gentleman", you might ask?? (-:0

Why, I asked him if he would be offended if I lit a cigarette (after noting in my profile, of course, that I smoke regularly).

Teeheehee...but!

Hold on to your cornflakes, Kids, 'cuz the thot plickens...moahahaha!

About six months later, I was chit-chatting with a female friend when -- lo and behold! -- she proceeds to tell me how the zact same scenario had happened to HER (albeit since she was a nonsmoker, it was asking if he'd care for a drink in her case). Well, my lil antennae went on red alert, I axt a few questions and finally figured out...yup, you guessed it...it was the same guy! LOL!

So let not your heart and head be troubled, Hairdo! (BTW, I feel it is your civic duty to divulge his identity here...we ladies gotta' unite, right?) It could well be that this is also your "gentleman's" way of getting free food and drinks on a regular basis. (I'm sure the one in my case is probably still doing this, since he was extremely attractive and no doubt would have a veritable plethora of potential female prey upon whom to...ahem...every pun intended..."feed".) LOL!

I agree with the OP above who said this could have happened with anyone you'd recently met, not just someone online. So please don't blame it on the 'net, this site, a bad night, too many drinks or anything else. This man doesn't deserve the benefit of any of those alibis. He is just a jerk, plain and simple, and is CERTAINLY not worthy of knocking you out of da fish pond here! That'd be an obvious loss to all the Real Men in our merry lil watering hole here.

So keep on keepin' on, Girlfriend. And should you worry about repercussions by spillin' his name here? Just remember: truth is a defense. I think you ought to let him reap what he has sown, since he now obviously thinks he's gotten away scott-free. Hehehe...it'd be nice to see him earn his just desserts in finally understanding that we ALL pay to play; some do it honorably and upfront, others not so. I feel he should be held accountable for his actions at LEAST in this one, small way, don't you??

BTW, I'd like to know if you agreed to a date with your "rescuer"...what a lovely thought!

Take care,
B*

Dating strangers is not part of my reality.

Why on earth would a gentleman object to giving his name, address and tel# to a date?? That is not an idle question. I'm really curious.

I agree Reenie... if I can't have some base information... why would I give my time... plus people need to know who I am with in case...

generally I invite people to functions and meet them that way... safety in numbers....

Pathetic is all I can say. But I'm weird like that. Even if I knew there would never be anything I would still finish the date. Most people already know about the friend to the rescue excuse so why even try it. Just have a night out, drop her off and move on.

Dating is a hit and miss thing. Not everyone you met is someone you can see yourself with but why make them feel bad and discouraged about dating.

I've heard this type of story so many times from women; the guy either sticks her with the entire tab, or brings his own booze/water/food because he's too cheap OR can't afford to buy himself dinner.

This guy is probably a chronic offender, and/or looking for a free meal. What better place than a dating website? Send the same form letter to every elligible woman in your area, ask out the ones that show interest - then dine and dash!

why aren't *I* doing this?? ;)
