Posted: 10/14/2009 9:11:01 PM | Heehee, well for us women, I just learned that 50 is the NEW 40. I like it!!!!!  And seeing as the male species is reported to mature slooooowwwwer than the female, maybe they only count the even or odd years! LOL | |

Posted: 10/15/2009 6:43:33 AM | I know a lady who joined POF when she was close to 50, used a profile pic that was taken when she was in her mid-20's & listed her age as 10 years younger. Why? Because someone told her she hadn't aged at all since they last saw her in her 20's. Duh!!! She finally took her pic off after I gave her heck for putting up the younger pic but won't correct her age. 
There was a guy who confessed on our coffee meet that he was more than 10 years older than stated on his profile 
and didn't tell me 'cause I wouldn't have agreed to meet him because my profile indicated that I didn't date guys his age.
He looked nothing like the 40+ year old, athletic dude in his profile pic because he is actually in his 60's
He is still using the profile pic he had up last year where he looks 40+, but added a note stating that the pic was just taken late this spring.
I was  'cause I had driven much further than I normally do for first time coffee meets only to find out he had lied about several other things as well.
I'm sure there are POF (Plenty of Fakers) just like the above two in the pond.   | |

Posted: 10/15/2009 10:14:38 PM | The way I look at it is, why lie? It's not like someone isn't going to see right away! And for me, if he lies about his age...what else is he lying or going to lie, about? Nope...honest all the way, or it's off to a reallllllly bad start!
Oh, and my comment about 50 being the new 40, it's just a saying of course! I just think it's cute. I'm 50 in 3 months (a little less actually) and looking forward to it!!  | |

Posted: 10/15/2009 10:42:24 PM | I believe I have described myself honestly in my profile and hope for the same in anyone I meet.
Discovering dishonesty in a profile (age, weight, smoker, etc.) may contribute to our first meeting also being our last. Even if someone tells me ahead of time in private about a dishonest aspect of their profile, it is still a bad start.
I realize that age cannot be edited after two weeks from registration with POF, so suggest anyone having a significant error (more than a year?) in their age and who is making a serious, honest effort to represent themselves (first save the text of their profile if they wish to re-purpose it), delete the profile and start again, honestly. | |

I have met guys who lie about there age, I don't quite understand it on either end of the perspective for various reasons. | |
