| Weight charts don't work so well for us guys

Its always nice to get a woman’s perspective on certain issues. Not that an always serious, out of shape, old dumb azz like me really cares what any of you women think!!!!!!!!

It seems most people who are a few pounds overweight, put that they are average. Just an observation.
Thats because the average person is a few pounds overweight so either answer is correct.
The charts posted are ideal weights for lowest mortality (as established by an insurance company). They have nothing to do with whats average.

I think it depends who is looking at you. My son tells me I'm average for a Michigan woman, lol...., so I put average in mine...but I also don't think I qualify as a BBW either...just me! | |

There are so many different things about a person that can attract you. And that just because she weighs 200 (or more) that he would not be attracted???
Thank goodness I started thinking about it before I went on some flame and rant, because that guy is allowed his opinion. He wouldn't be attracted to me at all, so why should I get upset. Thats not the kind of guy I want to attract anyways.
I went to a nursing home the other day and met an older guy who looked at me and said, "Well, shes a BIG one."
And my dad said to him, "She has to be, to fight off all the guys that are after her."
Then the guy said, "Yeah, I was probably chasing her too when I was that age."

Posted: 5/26/2008 3:55:31 AM | cahia,,,,i work in a nursing and sometimes those residents WILL say something hurtful and disrespectful but we are 'taught' to not take it personal. While yes, those with dementia are easier to do that with, the ones who are more cognitive should know better! It still doesnt make it any easier tho regardless. Aww i feel bad for ya!  And good reply by your dad! 
OT: It really all depends on how tall someone is and what their body frame is (there are 3 types). If i weighed 110 ( 5'6, med frame) id look like a bean pole, versus someone who was 110 lbs at 5'1 with a petite frame would look perfect. | |

I worked with older patients too and one time when I went with a PT to help with a transfer, the old guy looked at me and said "well, I see you brought a STURDY one". I laughed about it later. | |

Also, why am I wrong for being attracted to thinner girls? Whould I be flamed if I were only attracted to "bigger" girls?
