I'm not pickin' on any of the Harley lover's in particular, but this Harley superiority is just excrement. I've had over a dozen bikes, 1000 Kawie, an 1100 Special, and a 6-hole Wing included. Racing any Harley was a complete yawner, but seeing them tryin' to look cool in my rear view mirror was entertaining. Last trip on the Wing coming back from the lake, I went by a Harley guy so fast, he almost lost his rat's nest beard in the turbulance... I thought I heard him tell me to turn my stereo down, but by the time I disengaged the cruise, I was a half a mile ahead of him, and he couldn't see me anyway. His eyeballs were shaking too much from the engine's vibration to see me from that distance. Oh, think Gortex isn't cool?...I hear it's real good for putting under a Harley to catch the oil leaks so they don't ruin your driveway. Forget the beer drinkin' Harley-man, if they can get anywhere as fast as me, I'll buy the Crown Royal with the money I save on maintenance.

That is the key word or emotion that bikerbabe07 said.

IT is all about the feelings of excitment...being a bad girl...being more than just a female that is so nice all the time...

i am old school and have been riding for damm near 40 years now.you said that you liked the "bad boys"the real bad boys are almost gone now.when you go to a rally all you see now is a bunch off old farts who asses are so tender that they have to ride a dresser with all that crap on them.hell you may a well ride in your caddy if thats what its all about.try riding a hard tail across the country at 54 years old and then you will have a bad boy.dont dog a man cuz he dont ride a HARLEY.his ass might not like a harley. riding is just that, riding. if you want to ride then dont be so picky.jap bike are a whole lot more dependable than a harley will ever be and i build my own bikes.

It's unwise to say anything critical about someone riding a Harley unless you want your knees broken with a baseball bat, house burnt down, and sisters, daughters and mothers resepticals rearranged until they're kept juiced up on smack to keep their batteries going. Harley's rock! Motley Crew rocks! Mullets rock! You rock!

I'm not giving up my Ducati. I don't own it to pick up women, however. I scrimped and saved for that thing, and had a picture of it taped to the roof of my truck for the 16 months I was in Iraq.

It's for corners, and acceleration, and that sound. Nothing wrong with Harleys, nothing wrong with Harley riders at ALL, most of my friends ride Harleys and I'm the odd guy out.

I ride because I like to ride, not because I feel the need to project any kind of image.

As for the lady who said bikers suck in bed, how large a statistical sample are you basing your judgement on?

I was being facetious. Of course not all bike riders suck in bed. I guess I am just tired of the myth that they are more sexually proficient because of the bike obsession. My husband became obsessed with the weekend biker thing, and dragged me around to the usual events. All the men talked about were their bikes, and frankly, they bored me to tears. I must say I have to agree with Message 10 on this thread. I met very few who were gentlemen or had much to say. I think if more men would concentrate on riding their women, and not their bikes, they would be much better off. And, murf 167, if you are one of those rare men who don't feel the need to project the Harley 'image', my hat's off to you. And for the women who are attracted to men because of that metal appendage between their legs...well each to her own. For me, it's what's between their ears that counts. And if I were a man, I would want a woman who was attracted to me and not a machine.

Look at my profile. Do I appear to be someone projecting a 'harley' image? Images are for posers, real people deal in deeds.

There is nothing wrong with having a harley, they are just like women, keep their looks and don,t have to be something they are not.If I was shopping for a lady I would want one that is honest and faithful not just for looks. And for the people that think harleys leak oil and shake allover, time for them to get a new mechanic. Harleys last a life time just like good a good marriage.

I still like to ride at my age. However, there is no bad boy image around here. The bikers ralleys here are for breast cancer, Make a wish foundation, and lots of other good causes. Just a nice weekend of fun, good food, and contribution to a good cause. I'm just as happy on the back of a Honda as I am on a Harley. but I miss my Indian.
lol that will have some of the young riders thinking.

Sometimes you have to delay gratification. A good foreign bike like Honda or Suzuki will give you something to ride and get experience with. Many of my friends have done that. HD rocks- but why kill yourself financially just for a status symbol that you can get later on if you really want it?

In a way, delaying gratification can be more gratifying in the end. You have more money to put towards other things and still get to enjoy the adventure of being out on the road.
As for the wanabee biker chicks out there- if they want to ride that badly- maybe they should get their own.

Men who ride Harleys arent a bunch of knuckle dragging, pony tailed , oil bagged thugs...I prefer to ride a Harley out of choice...I love the bikes...If you find a BMW, Ducati or Honda cool, thats your choice...
Reading of few of the previous posts really surprised me...Most of my friends are Engineer, Attorneys...They all ride Harleys too..
The feel of a Harley is unlike any other (to me)...Love it...All of us have very respectful jobs, homes, cool cars and have a great time...Weekend riders (YUP)..

Ok I have resisted temptation long enough. The following is an old joke and I offer it in that spirit.

Q. Whats the difference between a Harley and a Hoover?

A. The location of the dirt bag!

Sorry if I offended anyone

I don't know what all the hype about a harley is. They cost a fortune to buy and cost a fortune to maintain. If you have the extra dough or own a bike shop in your back yard then go for it, but I get equal satisfaction out of my '05 Suzuki Boulevard at a fraction of the cost. And my engine doesn't feel like it's going to ripe away from my chassis.
.

Thanks. I'll give my metric cruiser another hug next time i go outside myself!. Its a BRAND people like Peter Pan or Kraft.

racer is right. I have yet been any place where they dragged their knuckles those are usually towed, or sitting on side of road (laughing) had tje mechanic on speed dial.
That and let's not forget the balance of a HD brought to you by those forward gears.
I prefer to sit in a harley ( similar to a saddle) than crouched over the others it just aint natural.

When you folks climb on your Import bikes and drive by a crowd...The crowd say, "What was that, ah another ricki road racer"....When a Harley goes by a crowd, the crowd stops look and say, "Wow"...No offense intended...
Ive heard the joke difference between a Harley and a vacuum...Location of the dirt bag...Oh man, "thats old"...But funnier than heck..take care

well -- I just can't help but jump in here -
My first bike was a bicycle with a lawnmower motor on it -- But I built it myself when I was 7 , My second was a Cushman , my third was a Harley Hummer at 14 , and my next was a Harley Sportster at 16 since then I've owned bikes from every country on the planet (I think) But the reason I like Harleys best is that I can find vintage stuff from WAY back and modify NEWER Harley parts to fit it (or made from a block of steel) and still ride 100% American and WAY custom . As for feeling macho because it's a Harly was ok when I was 14 ,but now I can ride my 1961 Cezeta (the Fuglyest thing in the Galaxy -- look for cezeta on the u tube) and still feel like I have the world by the ass . My present projects are a Harley Hummer and a 1942 Harley 45 with Hydraulic Clutch, belt drive primary and final drive, Foot shift with reverse, a battery that mechanics can't find, and it will have METAL Copper flames and CLEAR coat ONLY so you can see that there is NO bondo on the bike. All made downstairs in my shop by me . All this said -- there should be no pride in scaring old people and little kids as your reason for leather jackets etc -- thats to keep our ugly old mugs from being rendered "inactive".
YES -- I WOULD feel a lot less "American" if my only bike was a Foreign rig -- but what the heck -- our congress and political leaders are working HARD to turn the USA into a third world sh!thole so If the next guy doesn't have the time or tools to BUILD a good bike Leave him alone . A jap or BMW or others is the way to go for those guys who want to RIDE and not have to wait on a wrecker . (it's EASY to improve a Harley over 20 yrs old )- the new stuff IS better -- and AMERICAN --- PARTLY -- (about 17% American now days ) !!
Gees -- I'm just trying to say -- "Be a bike biggot if you feel you need to , or if it makes you feel better" OR -- just enjoy the ride and let the other guy ride whatever works for him. Even golfers are really OK ( I am a bit worried about those bowlers tho ) A lady told me once that Bowling was invented for folks that don't like sex --lol
Sorry if In offended anyone (except the bike Biggots - screw em)
Gotta go work on a Harley motor ! Later

You made some great points scotty mac, great points, while I do enjoy getting on the back 0f a bike, I am pretty fussy with whom, and haven't been riding for over 20 yrs, while I would like to, I dont want to risk getting involved with women like this one and the some of the men I have met in the past again......

I cant believe this post........

I know guys who get the harley and the gear, just to attract women, ( real drop kick wannabees) but I had no idea it worked, I have seen enough in my life time to be repelled by the whole thing, and as a result have steered clear of bike riding boys

I guess their must be jsut as many drop kick wanna be women ou their too.

When you have no choice being in the club and bike environment all your life, its the last thing you crave and are attracted to, its a culture, and those who idolise it and wannabe part of it have got rocks in their heads....... Get a real life

If you simply enjoy riding then great, but try being a little deeper than this......... Its shallow and an insult to real people

Your a culture of your own, Jerry Springer comes to mind Luv
