Posted: 1/25/2009 12:51:41 PM | ok geese honking and shotguns crack me up..............why are we focused on just the harley? most of the bikes out there now are louder. Why? it is a safety thing yes because the bike is so much smaller than the car, right......... ok then then point made.... for the person who resents the loud bike bikes because they disturb his sleep as he is driving,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well the loud pipes worked you now know that there is a motorcycle around you......and most likely you are tempted to wake up...
Oh by the way I don't have a harley the Suzuki does me just fine thank you | |

Posted: 2/5/2009 7:25:09 PM | Sorry but any man that I dated, HD rider or not was attenative to ME and not to only his bike - any biker I have dated, and yes most of them have had HD's, were more respectful to me and women and people in general
And a man can be attracted to his bike AND me, I am not threatened by a man loving his scoot, I love mine for that matter. People that ride LOVE their bikes and are protective of them and I never realized that fact fully until I got my own
I am not solely attracted to a man because he rides but I also am in the social settings where I do meet mostly men that ride and thats fine by me. Why WOULD I date a man that doesn't ride since I do ?
That is going to change now that I am in Alaska and not in Arizona anymore soon, but for 12 months out of the year I can share the bikes and riding with a man, here in AK I guess we have to find something else to do :) | |

I have heard the loud pipe / safety argument before. I am not sure I buy it.
An exhaust pipe focuses the sound behind the bike. When I am driving the steel capsule or for that matter the Voyager, I don't hear the bike until it is right next to me in a passing situation .
Now if someone was not paying attention, a sudden loud noise may tend to startle a driver at an inopportune moment & an involuntary reaction may occur. Regardless you do not hear an oncoming bike. I believe the Doppler Effect explains the physics of it. I would elaborate, but I skipped class that day.
Personally I believe a brightly colored vest, more lights, a headlight modulator are far better investments in safety. By far though banning cell phones operation while vehicles are in motion would be the biggest help. I never trust a vehicle at an intersection when I see a cell phone in the drivers hand. JOMO | |

You are courageous, confidant,self assured,adventerous,and these are qualities some women find attractive. So it makes sense when the op says she's attracted to men who ride Harley's.
You reach a point where if done safely, you can enjoy the freedom it offers. It takes a certain level of courage to put yourself out there to do something dangerous, wether it's a harley or a rice burner.
Most women i've dated have hated motorcycles because they lost friends who rode and wouldn't want to be with me because of it. So Bikes are not exactly magnets for getting a date. The magnet is when the bike and riding exude and compliment your personality which expresses the above qualities. | |
