There is one on this site now I met throught the other site, he was horrible to me and messed with my head. I have not had good experiences at all with the pay for sites. At least on this I can pick and choose without a subscription running out, or just take a look and see who is out there without having to subscribe. | |

No I have never paid for a dating site nor will I ever. POF is interesting that's for sure. It has just helped me meet some more (well a few people). I have never to date been able to find a mate for my heart, but I am thank ful for the handful of friends I have met on here, and every chance I/we get we work on becoming better friends with each other.

Posted: 2/20/2006 6:24:15 PM | Nope never paid. I'm mostly on POF for the threads, parties and the social aspect.I have met some wonder ppls. If I happen to meet Mr.Destiny, fall heel over head, I guess that POF was all meant to be for me.

Posted: 2/20/2006 6:45:34 PM | Unfortunately all too many times I've paid for sites. I was a long-standing member of Matchmaker.com, in the days before the enrollment dropped off so dramatically. I notice they're trying to get old members back - and have totally redesigned their site - but there's still hardly any members.
Match.com just ticks me off, in general. I just did a three-day freebie and have no desire to ever join. AND they don't have instant messages either like POF does! This is an exceptional site, and I've been lucky to get more responses here than any other site I've been a member of

I really wonder if all that just goes right over peoples heads or if they just don't care what is hapening to them. Plenty of Fish is a great sight, your philosophy of letting EVERYONE participate and leaving the door open for paid upgrade options is the way to do it. Move quickly to promote your site because once the 'Big Boys see it working so well they will adopt your plan... I guess that is inevitable in business tobay. | |

Just because a site is pay-per-use doesn't mean that you'll have any better success in finding someone, nor does it guarantee that the person will be who/what they say they are.

Posted: 2/21/2006 3:22:08 AM | WELL I have tried several paying dating sites, with no success, it maybe because I am 64 and have NO job or other reason that I am not aware of, since virtually no ladies reply to my genuine, kind messages gving my likes etc or saying how good their profiles were.
many women aged 50 to 65 ask for younger or "" solvent " men so this makes it harder to find anyone, even those who don't specify age range may want younger men
many websites do not give options for women to say what age group or area of location they want men to live in, not have any indiaction of when ladies are "" online " at last visit to website, so you have no idea if the lady is actively looking for a man
I have spent a lot of money with no luck in UK, yet a lady in USA contacted me, on international site that I never found anyone in England suitable so she mailed and phoned me a few times then asked me to visit her for Xmas 2002, which I did, got on well, but I could not emigrate to USA at the time as my mum was ill and 90 then.
Only 1 lady has contascted me on this website, but has returned to Seychelles Dec.2005 and have not heard anymore from her
Guess I am not luck on Internet dating sites, it is a numbers game I think, ladies have too many men to choose from it seems, so am lst in line due to age and no job maybe
anyway I will just stay a batchelor possibly. | |
