| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 2/22/2006 3:58:22 PM | | Yes I have, but too costly, didn't want to keep it up. I also paid for a local service once. VERY costly and not at all worth it. I love this free site, its so great that you're helping people find matches without deleting their arm and their leg. Thanks. | |

Posted: 3/29/2006 4:59:50 PM | I suspect that most of us are guilty of "paying" for the service.....but when all becomes clear-our heads out of the "we'll get you a man/woman" fog..... we all come back to reality---POF__my thanks to those that make this site possible-you have made a profound difference in my life, and I'm glad to admit it.

| hey Posted: 3/29/2006 8:29:39 PM | LRW: I was thinking exactly the same thing!!! | |

| hey Posted: 3/29/2006 8:44:30 PM | | I've had decent results with a couple of pay sites, which is better than I can say for POF to be honest. The thing with pay sites is that when you actually do pay for it, you stand out from the crowd, and generally get a lot more responses. Here, everyone is on even footing, so it's hard for a guy to stand out. But right now I'm just looking for friends, and I don't feel like paying for that, so I'm not subscribed to pay sites anymore. | |

| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 10/8/2006 2:52:36 PM | I've done a certain paid popular dating site so many times that in my small area, I can't even use that site anymore- i've either dated, rejected, or been rejected by everyone on the site. haha pretty much makes me OVER the whole online dating thing. especially since I had clearly no success
(for reference i'm really only here for the forums, if my dream man emails me i might respond, but i rarely even check in)

| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 12/1/2006 12:02:07 PM | yep i tried several and really just wasted my time, some sites actually give women gifts to waste your credit,it seems they have quiet a few tricks to get your money,i will definately never use one again,i had more luck on yahoo messenger lol. lurva life was the very sneaky one giving ladies free gifts,i actually met some women who were getting these.i just came from matchmaker site they didnt seem to want good money either,i have had dates over the net before but it has allways been by free methods.usually a group or just simply chatting on messengers. | |

| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 12/1/2006 12:19:59 PM | | POF is the best arrangement because the pay sites have other motives. I have met a number of woman on Yahoo, but I have been with them for several years, they are my provider so it is convienant. Like I always say it is a numbers game. You have to remember there are people on this site that have already found someone, but their profile is still on here but they never check it. It makes you feel like you are being ignored, but many times that has nothing to do with it. | |

| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 2/24/2007 2:54:34 AM | | i only did once which was only to contact some one that had an interest in me, so pretty much i only paid for one month just to talk to one girl. i think it was around 30.00 dollars for the month. What a shame. THIS SITE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! | |

| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 1/27/2008 12:43:01 AM | | A few years back I did I was on 2 sites that I paid for about 3-4 months and I did meet a few friends 1 who is now a great friend and I am glad I did at that time because if I had not I might have not met her; but I have never seen any site as good as this one and its free on top of it all. Since I have been on here I have met a lot of wonderful women and have made a lot of good friends and the best part I have met my wonderful girlfriend so if ever any one asks me I would say never pay join POF that's all you need. | |

| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 1/27/2008 4:46:54 AM | Yes, and I got much better results. The quality of men on paid sites was better, in my opinion. I was looking for guys of my own age who weren't just looking for a quick lay. On PoF, most people who contacted me were too old, too not local, too just looking for sex.
I met six guys on Match, and all of them were people I could have dated steadily, but I chose one, and we're happy.
The easiest way to weed out sex trolls is to go a site where they have to pay forty bucks to join. Most guys looking just for sex will stick to the free sites, where it costs them nothing. Guys looking for a soulmate are more likely to rationalize spending the extra money.
Also, the perks on Match were good. Easy to use, and some really great articles about dating.
I was also a member of JDate for awhile. Never again. Everyone I met on that site was a narcissistic, neurotic, self-important jerk, and I met about seven different people. On the up side, people on JDate aren't usually looking to screw around, they're looking for long term relationships. The only good thing about JDate is that in my area, it's the most acceptable online dating resource to use, and people think it's cool and not weird if you meet someone there. Pretty much every other Jewish girl I know (some supermodel pretty) was on JDate for awhile. I think you can meet someone good there, but I personally had LOUSY luck. Also, you run across the opposite problem of "booty trolls" there: the guys who want to get married, and want to get married NOW. Out of the seven guys I met, three or four indicated they wanted to get married soon and asked me about things like wanting kids and family stuff on the first date.
eHarmony rejected me, so I can't tell you much about them, except that it seems counterproductive for a business to turn down money. Plus, I don't like the idea of eHarmony or any site choosing who I can view or contact.
I find PoF good for forums and friends, but dating, not so much. I recommend Match, but keep in mind I am a 23 year old girl, and I find that many men and older people in general haven't had the luck with it that I had.

| Have you ever paid to use a dating site? Posted: 2/5/2008 9:05:07 AM | Yes, I have and it turned out well,,,Maybe it depends on the Profile and what you have to offer? Especially your photo...and please make it a recent one.
I have been on Yahoo...{ugly men but wants marriage and a Life} UDate was a ball and Match Com was only good if you seek fun and games.
