| How many sexual partners... Posted: 11/29/2008 9:32:08 PM | I'm sorry, but this just seems silly and childish - to say nothing of being a double standard. IMHO, how the individual acts and carries him/herself is what matters.
I once knew a girl who was a virgin, but a total slut as far as I was concerned. I also new a lady who was *quite* experienced, shall we say, and was every bit a lady in my book.

IMHO, how the individual acts and carries him/herself is what matters. Yep. And if she acts like a slut?
I also new a lady who was *quite* experienced, shall we say, and was every bit a lady in my book. She was *quite* experienced? So she knew how to **** and suck a few****, is that what you're saying? What a BS post. You can't even say it! Look mate, there is a difference between *quite* experienced and taking on the whole male population of a small town. BTW, neither one is a lady.
I once knew a girl who was a virgin, but a total slut as far as I was concerned. Every woman I know was a virgin at one time. In fact they all were. So she was a virgin but as far as you were concerned she was a slut.? Judgemental a bit? Wanker!

That might be true for you mate, but not me. I wouldn't want a woman who had even 1/10th the partners I've had.
Actually, it's not true for me. I grew up and got over it, so I don't really care what her partner count is.

So what? Telling men they are hypocrites solves what problem?
A hypocrite is one more person whose opinion is worthless. Your opinion of sluts cannot possibly be lower than my opinion of hypocrites.

| How many sexual partners does it take to become a turn off! Posted: 11/30/2008 12:36:35 PM | Honestly, I'm really tired of this double standard men have for us. I really could care less how many sexual partners a man has had before me, so I expect him to show me the same leeway. If he wants me to honest about how many partners I've had, then he has to be just as honest with me about how many women he's been with.
Guys, just because a woman has had a lot of sexual partners, or had more then you, does not make her a bad person, or a slut, whore, etc. The whole point of the sexual revolution years ago, was so that women were finally allowed, after thousands of years of only being able to please men, to FINALLY be able to please ourselves sexually.
Come on guys. It's 2008. Grow up, and get over it and stop worrying about how many people we've slept with. As long as she's disease free, and you enjoy sex with her and enjoy her company, who cares!!!!

| How many sexual partners does it take to become a turn off! Posted: 11/30/2008 12:40:18 PM | depends on her age. At 21 if she's been with 10+ that's not a good sign. At 40 if she's been with 20+ that's not a good sign. etc... of course, just my opinion.
I just love it when there's a thread like the escort one on POF where a woman says it doesn't matter and it's none of his business. Yeah, i want to date a woman who knows guys everywhere we go cause she's been bedded by 'em, great.

Let me help you...sex is invasive to a woman, men don't physically expand from sex, men don't get pregnant, women don't deposit things in a man. It is different, face it, it's a fact.
Psycholigically I agree with you, I don't condone it for men anymore than I do a woman.

I really could care less how many sexual partners a man has had before me, so I expect him to show me the same leeway. If he wants me to honest about how many partners I've had, then he has to be just as honest with me about how many women he's been with. First off, many women actually don't want guys who have had a lot of partners either. I've always been honest, and I've been rejected because my numbers were too high.
Come on guys. It's 2008. Grow up, and get over it and stop worrying about how many people we've slept with. As long as she's disease free, and you enjoy sex with her and enjoy her company, who cares!!!! That's fine. But some of us have other reasons why we don't want a woman who has had a lot of partners. Personally, I don't like running into her ex lovers when we go to the bar. Yep, that's just so much fun. I don't like dating the girl that turns out to be the running joke in the bar or social group. I don't like finding out my partner has health issues from something she caught from a previous sex partner. I don't like dealing with her unlearning what made other guys cum , if it doesn't work for me and she still keeps trying it. It's easier to learn something new than to unlearn it. We would have liked, at one point to have a kid between us. But she got her tubes tied when she started swinging to prevent an accidental pregnancy. So, gee, no kids for us because of her past sex life... I don't like it when she curls up in a ball crying because something I did in bed reminded her of a bad experience she had with a past lover. I don't like dealing with her depression and other issues over her past sex life...
So yeah, there's a point when too many partners in itself may not be the turnoff, it's the fallout however that kills....
How many women do you find that are actually proud of having a lot of sexual partners in the past? Hmmm I haven't seen any yet.... Then they tell us it shouldn't bother us.... Double standard?

It is different, face it, it's a fact. You forgot.. Pregnancy physically changes a woman... Stretch marks, changes in breasts, hips etc... Can lead to incontinence... Muscles in labour can actually leave marks on pelvic bones...
Women are more likely to acquire STD's than men as they are receptors for the fluids... Women are more likely to become infertile or have long term health issues (cervical cancer) from STD's than men... Women are more likely to suffer from issues such as self-esteem, depression and so forth than men

I don't like running into her ex lovers when we go to the bar. Yep, that's just so much fun. So essentially, you're afraid of what they'll think of you for dating her.
I don't like dating the girl that turns out to be the running joke in the bar or social group. She wouldn't be the running joke of anything if those people thought you were a real catch, but apparently you feel the need for their approval more than they feel any need for you approval.
We would have liked, at one point to have a kid between us. But she got her tubes tied when she started swinging to prevent an accidental pregnancy. So, gee, no kids for us because of her past sex life... Consider it a blessing, since you two define dysfunctional. In any case, tubal ligations can sometimes be reversed.
How many women do you find that are actually proud of having a lot of sexual partners in the past? Hmmm I haven't seen any yet.... I know a few that wouldn't think too much about it either way if guys (and other women, too) didn't beat them down for it.

| How many sexual partners does it take to become a turn off! Posted: 12/2/2008 8:44:46 AM | So essentially, you're afraid of what they'll think of you for dating her. No. I alway make sure that she and they know that I'm with HER. I just dislike the aggravation.
She wouldn't be the running joke of anything if those people thought you were a real catch, but apparently you feel the need for their approval more than they feel any need for you approval. Unfortunately the joke started before I met her. For several, I've ended the laughing. It also is very uncomfortable for her. It can cause problems when she doesn't want to go out because of the people SHE meets too.
In any case, tubal ligations can sometimes be reversed. Yeah, unfortunately, the type of surgery performed to do the original ligation can make or break the reversal. The $9,000 cost is paid out of pocket not by insurance, and there's no guarantees...

| How many sexual partners does it take to become a turn off! Posted: 12/2/2008 9:42:02 AM | My sensibility on this is that each individual has to d3efine for themselves who they are as a sexual being, find limitations, find interests, Etc. Some people have a strong need for experimentation. There are personality styles, both trait and state, that affect an individual's interest and curiosity for adventure and relationships. Keep in mind that the foundation of an individual's sexual is social, cultural, psychological, situational, developmental and familial. Sexual history is the totality of a person's being. It is merely and necessarily one aspect of who they are.
I get nervous when I smell judgment in the air and I do right now...
Short of subrogation I dont how anyone has the right to judge. I do believe some people have an affliction for sex. Some dont. Some shopping, smoking, drinking, drugs, stealing, lying, cheating, etc...
Why dont we put everyone who judges under the microscope and see if they are beyond reproach. Whose first?????

That is a silly excuse! A woman that has been married for 15 years probably has had more sex than a woman that has been single for most of that time. Numbers don't matter, hygiene does!!!
This is a really great point.
I think men who have a problem with the number of guys a woman has had sex with really have a problem within themselves. It's not the woman. It's that the guy doesn't like the fact that some other guys have been there too.
If one other guy has been there 5,672 times or 20 guys have been there twice, why is the 20 guys thing worse than the one guy?
Yeah, I know the argument. 'More partners means more risk.' Well, that's crap. I am extremely safe as a single person and have had minimal risk exposure and no problems in my 11 years as a single women. Unfortunately, during my 13 year marriage, my husband was bleeping everything that walked upright on two legs and exposing me to THAT.
Fortunately, I dodged the bullet and was fine, but the risk was so extreme, that it felt like someone had pointed a gun at me for real.

| How many sexual partners does it take to become a turn off! Posted: 12/2/2008 1:18:04 PM | [quit]The average woman admits to having about 6 different lovers in a lifetime. That doesn't turn me off.[/quit]
The ''average'' includes a lot of women who were raised in an era that women were expected to remain virgins until marriage and getting divorced was not as easy as it is. I imagine the average for women under 40 is much higher.
