| Is Transcona a part of Winnipeg? Posted: 2/22/2006 10:56:17 AM | Transcona; That's almost halfway to Toronto, isn't it? You bet it's a part of Winnipeg! When I visit my friends at that part of the city, I look forward to the nice drive. I'm still amazed at all the changes & nice new stores that are now in & around Kildonan Place. Now that's THE PLACE to shop!
I grew up in East Kildonan and most of my friends lived in the South-West part of Winnipeg. It was quite a "hike" to go and visit. Now that I moved to the South-West part of Winnipeg, most of my friends had moved to the Eastern part of the city. Too Funny!

The fashion is based on the neighbourhood yard sales.

| Is Transcona a part of Winnipeg? Posted: 10/20/2008 3:45:16 PM | | well really, t-cona is part of winterpeg. like some said it might of been part since the 70ies. im not sure. i was born in 85. but yeah t-cona is growing especially over here in canterberry park towards the east primiter. i think in the last 15 years its growened. if u dont like t-cona then dont write mean things of it. we dont have rude ppl here like u r. so leave us alone. plus if u think t-cona has hookers here more than anywhere in the world then think again cuz im not. in Full Houses youngest daughter Michelle Tanners saying "How Rude". | |

| Is Transcona a part of Winnipeg? Posted: 10/20/2008 4:01:37 PM | ^^^Wow. I'm glad my children are not going to school in Transcona. This is not meant to be mean or rude...just a comment on an observation.
EDIT: ^^^Wow. I'm glad my children are not CURRENTLY going to school in Transcona as there has clearly been a sharp decline in the standard of education in that part of town (if it IS part of town). This is not meant to be mean or rude...just a comment on an observation.
Good thing POF has the ability to edit...LOL

| Is Transcona realy part of Winnipeg? Posted: 1/1/2009 12:42:07 AM | | Just moved to Transcona this Spring. Not sure I get all your jokes, though I'm sure I will in time. The people seem friendly, it's easy to get around, and it's handy for me to get out of the city since I commute out of town. Having a hard time finding good restaurants though; it seems as though it's all franchises. Anyone have some suggestions for hole-in-the-wall style dining out here? | |

It's more shack-on-the-roadside than hole-in-the-wall but close enough, right? Oh, and it has even more exclusive hours of operation than the Sals on the bridge.

However, I hear that the buffet at the Silver Spike offers some of the best exotic wild game.........apparently item #69 on the menu......the Cougar with Acid Washed Jeans and Big Hair Surprise........ is outstanding!

| Is Transcona realy part of Winnipeg? Posted: 1/2/2009 4:03:03 PM | THATS ENOUGH!! I hear people taking about these comments being just a joke and humourous observations. This is SERIOUS though so stop the innuendos!
If I have to I , for one, am going to stand up for Transcona ....thats because no one is usually able to stand in Transacona due to the amount of alcohol consumed.
I thik to seriously answer the question "is it a part of Winnipeg" you need to serioulsy ask :"are Transconians really anything like any other people in Winnipeg?" LOL! Ok thats too easy to answer! NO!!
As far as distance......hell...I live centrally in winnipeg and I far sooner would drive to Transcona than Charlewood. Besides at least Transcona has sidewalks!! The probelm of course is : "why would anyone ACTUALLY want to drive to Trascona?"
Oh I just remembered one..."MR. "B's" PIZZA"....oh ya!! Maybe Trascona aint so bad after all.
