| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 9/23/2009 3:10:12 PM | I've been told I look more beautiful in person.. aaah..geeeze.. all of mine are... within the last year and a half excluding one.
Why do men (maybe women too) post pics with their sunglasses and hats on along with being out dated and standing 100 + feet away from the camera? and by the way I'm not interested in seeing your Harley or your boat or your hot rod!! Just want to see you!

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 9/24/2009 11:29:24 PM | | Mine was on here for a while and then yesterday I found out my pics where deleted. I look better in person than in my online pictures. My main picture showed me in a suit and a hat on but it showed my face. You cannot always go by a photo on here though because some people look better in person than they do in their photo profiles. I will probably have to take some more pictures of myself and post them on my profile. | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 9/24/2009 11:34:30 PM | | If you don't look like your pictures, then you should probably update them! Being dishonest/misleading in your profile pics is a sure way to turn a first date sour. | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/2/2009 10:57:29 AM | Not only do I look like my pictures.
My pictures are all recent the oldest one is from May 09. None of them are from ahhhh 5 years ago.
And none of them have been photoshopped to add or take away anything from my appearance.
But the most important thing is my dog is even more beautiful in person, and her teeth are much larger.
But here is my real question about pictures, they allow old pictures, they allow photoshopped pictures, they even allow you to have no photo at all. But if you take photos as a hobby the won't allow those? Now why is that? It is like they allow for liars and frauds, but not the opportunity to share your interests and in some cases, art with other members.
Go figure. No wonder I don't date from here.

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/2/2009 11:44:17 AM | I hope I look like my pictures, because to be honest, I'm not sure I could pick myself out of a crowd...so my pictures are the only thing I can go by. In my head I look one way...then I see pictures of myself and I think...huh. I also don't recognize my voice...I sound different to me than I do on the phone. I will say that people that have met me, have recognized me right away. Although one person did say I "sounded" taller and another thought my neck was long. huh? | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/2/2009 10:33:42 PM | Well, the first picture is fairly old but I don't give a crap, because I love it...my daughter took it and it captured a special moment in my life when I was getting ready to go sing at a gig with my band at a huge event. My daughter is a wonderful photographer and I love her work, and so I keep it on here because I like the picture. The second picture is a goofy shot of me taken back in the Spring at a bar when I was being silly. It totally looks like me, complete with the eyes crossed, tongue out and head sideways. If you want more pictures of me and I feel like sending them, I will. For purposes of this site, though, these will do.
Some days I look fantastic, some days I look like crap. Some days I wear my contacts, some days I'm rockin the glasses. It all depends.

If I were to meet someone and they turned out looking NOTHING like their pic I would just say "sorry I think I have the wrong person. I thought I was meeting someone else." Oh buggar, what a great line - wish I'd thought of it. Last guy I met had posted a pic, which I swear must have been 20 years old! The 'dark' hair was grey, he'd had a hair transplant and he was twice the weight - so that the lean face in his pic was in reality moonshaped. Absolutely nothing like his pic - but he picked me out in a flash and zeroed in. So yes, I look like my pics.
The thing is, he didn't look unattractive and I would have dated him had he put up honest pics - but I was annoyed by the deception. Rudeness and dishonesty are deal breakers with me!

Well, the one with the beard is a year old, just shaved it off within the last month. Also, almost without exception, everyone that I ever met off this site looked exactly like their photos.

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/3/2009 8:41:10 AM | I look like my pictures--they aren't from yesterday but not that old either. The only thing that has changed is my hairstyle--but even that isn't that different (I change my hair from month to month sometimes I swear, just something I do--cut it shorter, hate it, grow it out, looks messy and shaggy, get it cut a different way, etc.--been doing that most of my life!)
I usually get told I look better in person (I take terrible pictures--the ones on here are actually very good for me!). Most of the men I have met (in the past actually as I have only recently re-activated my profile) "resemble" their photos (one actually looked just like his pictures) but have some differences, one in particular looked like he had just walked out the backwoods when I met him rather than just a decent looking working guy like his picture (picture: clean cut, jeans, ball cap; reality: shaved but with thin raggedy grayish hair growing down past his shirt collar--and balding on top, nascar shirt with a weird smell--car smelled too though). I think most people are trying to put a decent picture on, but not everyone photographs well--sometimes someone can take bad pictures but look nice in person or vice versa (take great pictures but not so good in person). Of course, there are a few who look completely unlike their pictures but seems those are the exception, not the rule.

Sometimes I feel some people should photo shopped their pic's! Why? Cuz I see more of background-stuff,[aka grand canyon, the ocean, the stuff they hang on their frig, etc] instead of seeing their sweet face. lol
I think is good to have at least one close-up ID photo of the person.
But the most important thing is my dog is even more beautiful in person, and her teeth are much larger. A person with a dog which is beautiful inside and out, is a reflection of it's owner...

Definitely look like my pictures. Kind of hard to not look like your pictures unless.......
OMG You mean some people are using pictures that aren't them??
True story. Met a woman. She told me about this guy she decided to meet. She was in her 40's and supposedly he was too. She liked the pics and the conversations they had so she agreed to meet him.
When she got to the meeting place, she couldn't see him, but an old (70ish) man was waving her over. SHe said she wanted to run but curiosity got the better of her and she joined this codger. Turns out that he was using pictures of his SON. His justification was that she would like him for who he was when she met him. SHe obviously was HIGHLY offended and set this man straight.
I shake my head at the games that happen online. Be yourself ffs.

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/3/2009 8:52:44 AM | No. I look like other people's pictures. Several times I've been out and around. Like a restaurant or the pier or something and a man will keep staring at me then kind of move towards me and walk away and I know they're meeting someone they've never met and I'll say something and sure enough they think I'm their date. Seriously this has already happened several times. A couple of them were cute and I considered it. I guess I've been single for so long I'm marked somehow. Or it's just my generic ethnic look. | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/3/2009 1:51:57 PM | | Most people look like their pictures, unless they alter their feature on the trick of make ups ,hairdos .... I dated men that their pics are a bit younger thinner or stouter than their present person , but I can recognized them in person because of their pictures.. Men recognized me with my hairstyle...... | |

Go figure. No wonder I don't date from here.
Yes, unless they are on my fav's list and if we commo on the present tense, then there might be a good chance to meet or correspond with these folks. lol,and if not, tis best to move on, pic or not.

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/5/2009 12:32:27 PM | | That is something I have asked about alot. Luckily they say I do. I keep them up to date, and I usually throw in that they can't see freckles or little wrinkles and other things either, trying to scare them so if they meet me they are not too dissapointed. I just don't wish to surprise anyone. But a picture can not really give you the full story. How a person speaks, the way they carry themselves, their demeanor, their clothes, their grooming, all can only be seen in person. Many people take a good picture but when you see them in person, not at all like you thought. | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/5/2009 2:42:08 PM | I've met 5 guys from here, and none of them looked like their pics. One guy was so much older, I thought for sure his son sent his dad instead.
They've all said I looked better than my pics. But honestly, I think guys just say that.
I totally agree with Cindy's comment: "a picture can not really give you the full story. How a person speaks, the way they carry themselves, their demeanor, their clothes, their grooming, all can only be seen in person. Many people take a good picture but when you see them in person, not at all like you thought."
So what's the answer? I hate talking on the phone for very long, because your imagination fills in the blanks.. you get an idea of what you think that person is like.. and when you meet in real life, it may not be what you expected.

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/5/2009 7:08:32 PM | Some people need to update their photos.....
Like this one guy who, when I saw him, hadnt shaven in about 3 days, was greying by his ears, and had his gut hanging over his pants, none of which were in his photo........ Before seeing him, I almost got to wanting to know him more..... It wasn't a "looks" thing so much as that he obviously didnt care about himself. I still liked his facial features.
He even asked if I wanted to meet him that morning... you'd think if you had that much of a chance of meeting someone that you'd at least shave....

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/6/2009 1:40:53 PM | I know I look like myself as I get told that all the time but I do get cared just to make sure I am who I say I am | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/6/2009 2:18:28 PM | Without exception, every man I've met from POF has said that I look much better in person than I do in my photos. Even though they are only a year old, I will be getting new ones done this weekend.
I have also been pleasantly suprised in two of the face to face meets when the chaps turned out to be somewhat better looking in person. More interested in their character and personality than I am in their looks, but do like a man who doesn't misrepresent himself.
|
| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 10/6/2009 10:43:09 PM | First meet, first words are usually, "I'd recognize that smile anywhere." I've been recognized just out and about from my picture. When I had my picture in the paper for work, I had a slew of people I'd never talked to before write on POF to say they'd seen it; not even sure how I felt about that! | |
