| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/20/2006 12:12:55 PM | I really hope not. But if I'm that grainy in real life I hope there is a cream for that!
The gal pal who told me about this site said be very careful with the pix. Someone else said her's were cut & pasted onto another dating site by mischevious friends and a work aquaintance found them there (after she shut down POF).

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/20/2006 12:31:16 PM | I certainly do, and I have been told that I do look better in person! Never get tired of hearing that!!
I have always found it interesting how you perceive a person to look based on the photos they have posted, and how they actually look in person. Since the pictures can't show height, the way they carry themselves, etc. it's amazing at times how different people can be in person, even when the pictures they have shown you are current. Did that make any sense???
And unfortunately I too have met people that have posted out of date photos, which has never proven to be a good experience.

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/20/2006 1:13:08 PM | Yes I do. I purposely have pics of me doing different expressions or angles so when I meet someone there will be no surprises.
I do also want to note something I've found. A few of the guys I met who were the best looking in person had bad/not so good profile photos (grainy, blurry or taken from too far away). But you could tell from the pics that they weren't really disgusting looking. But I wasn't prepared for how much hotter they were in person.

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/20/2006 1:24:05 PM | | yep, tis me,looks like me,but I smell better in person .I dont see the point of putting pics on a profile that doesnt look like you do right now. | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/20/2006 1:28:06 PM | | I think I look EXACTLY like my pictures, and the only comment I've heard (twice) was that I looked better (which I think is puppydoo)...everyone sees something different in a photo anyway.... | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/20/2006 1:39:30 PM | I've only been on here a short time and I've updated my photos three times. Why would you want to post an old picture? If you're that insecure about your current looks, do something about it. If you're looking for someone that doesn't care what you look like, then don't post a picture.
I have a hard time convincing people that I'm 33yrs old sometimes but I don't lie about my age. I look young for my age; I only hope I have this problem when I'm fifty.
You can never be sure if you look exactly like your picture when you meet new people. The lighting, time of year or maybe your just a little puffy one day, can play a big part when you actually meet someone.
B/W vs. Color photos is also an issue... I'm going to try posting both soon...

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/20/2006 3:58:15 PM | | well my pics are all within 4 months, the one on my profile is vague as I choose it to be, other pictures posted have been seasonal, for fun showing personality, one picture in particular was definitely me looking like me. Those that know me have seen real, current pictures that I send in emails that are not cloudy or vague. | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/21/2006 6:54:02 AM | I look just like my pics...took em two days ago!...I have to say I've only met a few people on here in the flesh (and most at a recent POF party) and they ALL looked better in person! Pics only show one side of you...you see the expression in real life...and let's face it..when a smile is directed at YOU and not a camera...it's so much nicer! | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/21/2006 7:46:08 AM | All my photos were taken last year from spring to fall... I will take more this year and replace the older ones... I think it is only fair that we keep our photos up to date... It is only fair and honest in my opinion... GOOD LUCK & have fun | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/21/2006 1:45:31 PM | | I look exactly like what I do in my pictures. You hear of too many horror stories where people put up fake pictures and the other person is like "what the hell!" All real here! | |

| do you look like your pictures? Posted: 2/21/2006 4:01:00 PM | Wow, this thread is proving the #1 complaint about internet dating TOTALLY wrong - that most people do not look like their pictures!
Apparently, everyone either looks exactly like or better than their pictures.
What planet are all those OTHER people from??
Why do I think we'd see a very differnet response if the title of this thread was "how many of your DATES have looked like their pictures?"
