The phrase "expect it when you least expect it" and "it will happen when you quit searching" are words to live by. Sometimes I think people try to hard.
As for not answering emails.......I answer every email I get. Even if it's only to say...."I'm sorry, I'm not available."

Guys, here is a suggestion. If and when you have a chance to meet a gal in person do it even though the picture may not be what you feel is ideal. You never know. There are women out there that per their picture you may not ever think you would desire to meet. Then after you meet something clicks and off you go for some fun and adventures.
Time for some is a relevant aspect of meeting. Their occupation, profession, distance, a true desire to actually meet all of these as well as more of course plays into it. Simply don't give up.....If you do then you'll NOT meet anyone.
Depending upon what you're seeking whether it's a LTR leading to marriage or simply "dating" or "friendships" (either of those also could also lead to a LTR) it's available right here on POF. Make contacts, follow though, be respectful and have a good time.

Posted: 3/3/2009 10:32:16 AM | POF is an excellent online media to in fact meet others in person. Yes, it does work and yes, "luck" has been very good. In the last year (March 08-March 3,09 I've met 9 women in person from POF.
Of the 9, 3 where "No way's-this is NOT going to happen," great gals, happy I had the opportunity to meet them however, they just didn't make the socks go up and down.
2 were from well out of the area that were simply visiting Cedar Rapids, certainly wonderful, fun and exciting women, mutually fun for a few days. We stay in touch on occasion via e-mail and calling.
1 is waiting for a guy to move to Iowa later in March to start a LT "relationship," until then, we are very good weekly friends.
3 were totally "must do's" and of the 3, 1 desired a committed monogamous relationship after a few weeks which meant I had to say "bye bye now." She is now married and seeking a divorce, we remain simply friends.
Of those 3, 2 continue to be very good friends, we get together whenever our schedules fit. Luck is what you make it.
If you actually get out there and meet others, the fun times will most certainly follow! Be respectful, open and honest, most importantly simply be yourself.
No matter what you're seeking, a long term monogamous relationship, an occasional "date" or anything in between, the best people online are here at POF! Thank you POF!

Posted: 3/9/2009 11:25:44 AM | Gosh, I do believe I answered this question just recently in another forum... but it is worth repeating.
For me this online site has allotted the opportunity for me to meet so many wonderful folks from all over. I have never limited myself by the thought that I want to ONLY meet a mate.
By maintaining an open mind I have been allowed to get to know so many wonderful folks, men and women. My forum activities and postings have brought many to my "door" that I wouldn't have had the chance to know.
As far as meet/greets.... sure I have had my share of these.. can't remember the exact amount but would estimate it to be near 20 in the two years I have employed this site.
Of those, I would have to say that fifteen are still men who I communicate with regularly.
But, you know what the bottom line is here?
If I would have been narrow minded and not kept my options open to every type of relationship I would have missed out on the great folks I have met.
