| Help! Do all guys that live alone have empty fridges? Posted: 2/21/2006 2:03:06 PM | I'm stocked up on quail, beefheart, mice, rats, tilapia guts, all sorts of things right now.
When I was an urban dweller eating out was just so much easier than cleaning up, it could very well be part of any guys bachelordom. It is not a man's fridge you have to worry about being empty.

| Help! Do all guys that live alone have empty fridges? Posted: 2/21/2006 3:10:48 PM | My fridge hasn't been close to empty for some time. I was extra hungry last time I went to the grocery store and I filled up my entire fridge, a spare bedroom, a shed in the back yard and half my basement. Now I've sworn off of going to the grocery store until 2012.
Yesterday I made some mean Jambalaya, and when that's gone I'm gonna whip up some stew. Realistically, I can probably go another month without buying groceries, and without pilfering from my dog's food bin.

| Help! Do all guys that live alone have empty fridges? Posted: 2/21/2006 5:59:35 PM | Just went to the grocery store. Now I have the following
2 apples 2 oranges 1 green pepper 1 red pepper 1 onion 1 pack of chicken breast 1 pack of ground beef 1 package torilla shells 1 pre done lettuce thing 1 litre of milk 1 package of sandwich meat 1 block of cheddar cheese 1 container of cottage cheese 2 potatoes pizza pops 12 bagels 1 carton of eggs 1 thingie of butter
There were some other odds and ends. The question is now - will I do anything with it or will it all be rotten in no time?

| Help! Do all guys that live alone have empty fridges? Posted: 2/22/2006 9:20:06 AM | I was offering my services as a great cook
I figure if theres that many men that don't shop for food, or cook for themselves, it would be a fantastic idea to have "meals to go" for the single man. Besides, who wants to cook for one, when you can have it delivered!!
I'm simply thinking of it as a business opportunity, ahem..lol

The only thing that ever makes me feel lonely, is cooking for myself.

I do food shop for when I have my children and some times I'll cook enough for a family, then I'll make up platters and stick them in the freezer for a quick meal in the micro wave. I also allways have fruit and veggies that go bad.

I buy actual groceries and end up throwing some of it out because I don't get to it fast enough... (mostly fruits & veggies, since I'd freeze meat).
You may be spending more, but I waste more than you bachelors.

Posted: 2/25/2006 7:10:38 PM | | My mother is a great cook and since I live by myself if I didn't cook I wouldn't eat all the great food "like momma used to make". Or I would have to eat out everyday and be large than I currently am or be broke. Or maybe both.

| Help! Do all guys that live alone have empty fridges? Posted: 9/29/2008 4:35:05 PM | | Mine is fairly empty, I do try and get some frozen stuff because I don't really feel like cooking when the days are longer, just get too tired by the time the sun goes down. I have found that prices have curtailed much of what I used to buy. I can remember 25 yrs ago that $80 would buy a cart heaping full, and a case of formula to boot. Now I can about carry the bags from that same $80 in one hand....... no wonder i'm thin, lol. | |
