I for one didnt think i could do it when i took custody of my troubled teen daughter , then had that be the excuse for my second wife to leave me.So i do think single dads have it tough.....just my opinion

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/26/2006 11:41:13 PM | Here's my problem... I'm 23.
I'm incredibly mature for my age - sorta comes with the territory when you're a single dad. Which means a few things: most women my age seem shallow, most women my age don't want anything to do with a a guy with children, and a lot of older women see my age as a sure sign of immaturity.
It's a Catch 22. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 4:48:21 AM | | Partner I am 45 years old and have raised my 4 kids alone I gave up my 30s to be with them while my friends were out on the town I was at home with my kids. They were very young 8 an 4 year old boys and 1 year old twin daughters. They were my heart I could not turn my back on them. I met many women that I know would not go out with me because I had kids but the way I see it they missed out. Now my children are grown so it's my turn to enjoy life. I have raised 4 awesome respectful kids that I am very proud of. Now I can look for that special woman. So hang in there things will get better if woman were smart they would see you as a secure real man. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 5:36:47 AM | Single dads are great and i think it shows just how much they acturly LOVE their kid's to wan't to be around them all the time and have them in their live's, even if their realationship didn't work out between the parents.
I can not wait until this baby come's out mood swings are the worse but anyway's i think single dad's should get just as much credit as a single mom does because they BOTH work extreamely hard, to provide for their kid's.

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 7:27:23 AM | I'm not sure of your exactly situation. But I'm a single mother of three, and it can definatly be a handful. Depending on the single dad alot must be considered but it could be personal, or as suggested, it could also be she's intimadated, not nessasarly by the child but the mother. Personally, I've found that MOST single dads are wonderful people too. It should not matter if your a single parent or not. Your human, and most humans tend to make an error here and there. No one is perfect and if a woman is seeking for a perfect mate.. or someone to change to her wants and demands.. then she should not be looking. I do belive in choice, but it's got to be your choice. Hang in there, Stay strong it will get better. Time is lifes biggest trial, all in all when it's said and done if your honest not only with everyone who surrounds you, but most of all yourself, the outcome could never be disapointing. Stay strong. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 2:04:16 PM | how i see it is for every single mother there is a single father, and for some reason it seems to be more socialy acceptable for women to be single parents but it's frowned upon when it's a man. I personanly think it's great to see fathers in their childrens lives. My daughter doesn't have that, and there are a lot of children out there that don't have their fathers. Taking care of another person that is totally dependant on you is a full time job and it takes a lot of work. i think that if you are a single parent, you should be given a lot of credit. and if the woman that you are interested in can not accept the fact that you have a child than they haven't had the chance to grow up and see life for what it really is. Single parenting is a lot more common than a family with both parents still together. It's a part of life now. and i think that any single parent should be praised for taking on such a hard thing alone. and i personaly think that a single father is kinda sexy. it shows that they take responsibilty and are not affraid of commement. Parenthood is for life. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 2:21:42 PM | | Honestly I know how you feel. I'm a single parent as well but my problem is the amount of children that I have. If it was me, I would not run away from a single father in fact i would rather prefer a single father. He has been through things that single guys haven't. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 4:01:33 PM | My respect goes out to all single parents male or female, being a fulltime parent of 1 I know how hard it can be, to me it is all worth while because of the simple pleasures that children bring into our lives. As for dating I don't get much time to do a lot ,but when I have, I find women seem to back off once they know my position, or they want me but won't accept my son. This isn't a problem for me as my son comes first in my life. I'm not desperate as I've taken a 1 and a half away from any female company dating or relationships to get to know myself again and realise what is really important in my life. I just think if anyone wants me enough, they will accept that me and my son come as a package, just as I would do the same for any single mother I wanted to date. Good luck to you all Lee xx | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 4:08:34 PM | Oh I almost forgot, to all of you that run away from your responcibilities as a parent ..shame on you! Sit down and re-evaluate your life and live up to your responcibilities, be an adult not a child.. The true meaning of life is to have offspring, without offspring their is no meaning to life | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/27/2006 4:35:07 PM | | I give much respect to single dads because its not every day that i meet a man who is taking care of his child on his own. Being a single mom myself i know how difficult it is. So i give you props. I find that attractive. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/28/2006 8:37:52 AM | | I've dated a couple single dad's in the past. Last summer was the best one so far though. He had custody of his son full time and it was a lot of fun taking our boys out together. It's just nice to have have someone who can totally relate to you as a parent and who understands that sometimes you can't just pick up and go. I've tried dating non parents and so far it hasn't worked out...... | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/28/2006 9:33:49 AM | I PERSONALLY WOULD PREFER A SINGLE PARENT..WE WOULD HAVE ALOT MORE IN COMMON. THEY WOULD KNOW HOW TO SPLIT THEIR TIME FOR THEIR CHILD AND FOR THEMSELVES. THEMSELVES ALWAYS COME AFTER THE CHILDREN. I FIND MEN THAT HAVE NO CHILDREN AND NEVER BEEN MARRIED ARE NOT READY FOR FAMILY LIFE.
HOWS THAT FOR MY PERSPECTIVE....SHELLEY

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/28/2006 2:24:27 PM | I have no problem dating single dads, actually find it comforting, when moms ditch kids with dad says a lot for the father, raising children is hard work for either, but when girls involved I think it's tougher on the dads, think about it moms, teenage girls. Absolutely nothing wrong with single dads. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/28/2006 3:35:00 PM | Too many angry and hurt single parents, so was I, for about a week or two, took time to look at myself and realized as long as I'm mad at ex, he's still pulling my strings, why waste the energy. No support, oh well, had to work more, oh well, my daughter loves me, thats swell. Have I met anybody, no, looking, not really, wasn't ready, move at my own speed, seen others rush into relationships, who gets hurt, the kids. You have to be mentaly prepared for a new start, figure out what's most important, realize you may be blending families, set guidelines, compromise, be realistic. Now I'm ready, as I'm a single mom a single father would be welcome, advantages, hopefully you both get it, it takes work on behalf of both. | |

| what do u think of a single dad... Posted: 2/28/2006 3:55:44 PM | | Dude, I know exactly how you feel. I have two girls and a boy, sharred custody, one week on\ off. I listed that on my profile on another dating site and got bareley any resposes, but when I took it off, the messages started commin in. I think women are intimidated by a man that can handle himself around the house. Kind of like us guys finding out our girlfriend can fix her own car! lol My ex wife was convinced I couldn't do it, but I did. The weeks I have them, I do the lunches, get em dressed, get em off to school, then there's supper, homework, baths. But you know what? I wouldn't trade it for anything, and if a woman can't handle that then I would rather be alone. I tell them straight up from the beginning...I put my kids first, that's it. So hang in there dude, your not alone ! The right one will find you. | |
