And since then, I've lost count of all the concerts I've been to. My next one is Fallout Boy/All American Rejects/From First to Last/Hawthorne Heights. Unless I check out Hot Hot Heat tomorrow night.

| first concert? Posted: 3/21/2006 2:43:00 PM | Metallica at UBC Thunderbird. The sound was actually pretty good since there aren't nearly as many echoes as Pacific Coliseum or GM Place.
When they played One, it actually sounded like helicopters flying over at the begining.
Alice in Chains was supposed to play at that show as well, but they cancelled. One of the few bands I really wanted to see in concert and didn't get a chance to...
|
| first concert? Posted: 3/21/2006 3:12:09 PM | Kiss in 1977 in Edmonton. We were in the 8th row and I remember the blast of heat from their flame bombs!

|
| first concert? Posted: 3/21/2006 3:49:16 PM | Queen in 1980...my mom was 8 months pregnant with me...does that count?
Ive been to sooo many concerts...I cant even remember. I think my first concert was John Cougar Mellencamp, at the Saddledome in Calgary, when I was about 10ish. I remember dancing with some drunk women in the 1st row...and having beer spilled all over my mickey mouse jacket.
|
| first concert? Posted: 3/21/2006 4:03:04 PM | My first concert was BTO in 1973 at the CNE Grandstand in Toronto.

| first concert? Posted: 6/26/2006 7:40:11 AM | I'm lame... I think BTO was my first concert... The only other one I saw was Nickelback in Victoria and it freakin SUCKED... there wasnt even enough people to pack the floor...SO SAD But I did take my daughter to her first concert, she's 11 now but earlier this year we took her to Hillary Duff...and yes Im still havng flashback headaches from all the screaming girls It was by far, still the best one I've been to.. Her EYES were huge as she nudged me to look at the stage, when Hillary finally came out... followed by a funny comment about how she kinda looks like she has anorexia LOL... She and 3 of her friends... so much fun... we moved seats to right beside the stage, got some great pictures... I think I bought HER EVERYTHING... not because she asked, cause she won'tor wouldn't, shes a giver not a taker... she DESERVED it, it was her first time and it brought a tear to my eye... My whole body was filled with excitement and a sense of pride. I got to see how free she felt as she was tossing her head around dancing to the music and not caring one bit who was watching her, that's MY girl.. could care less about my first experience... being part of her first was enough happiness to last a lifetime. | |

My first was Tom Cochrane out in some farmers on A Canada Day field just north of town.
I've since seen 100s of more bands in concert, with Tickets to see Our Lady Peace again next month, and possibly Kim Mitchell in August (unless I deside to go down to the Salmon Arm Blues Fesival intead)

| first concert? Posted: 6/26/2006 10:55:18 PM | | Ugh....my first one was....are you ready? The GoGo's with the Payolas. I was 12 and was allowed to go with just a friend, no adults. We were just too cool! Second was Loverboy with Bryan Adams opening. The last one was taking my now 13 yr old daughter to Fall Out Boy, before that it was taking her to Green Day. | first concert? Posted: 6/27/2006 11:10:53 AM | | my first concert was in 78 or 79 - XTC opening up for the police! what a show! i have seen too many to count since then but through high school and university i think i went to every show that came to town, and back then everyone came to winnipeg. it was a try out town for bands. best concert - john mellancamp, lonesome jubilee tour. most memorable? hmmm... chasing the scorpions limo through town and finally they stopping and getting their autographs. poor guys, probably thought they were going to get laid. i also have all my ticket stubs and my best souveigniers are neil pearts drum stick (rush) from the signals tour, and the dead guy from def leppard's shirt. steamin' steve clark. saw them in 83. | |
