But seriously...yeah, major gamer here. My favourite series are Doom and The Elder Scrolls (I have Doom installed on my workstation at school ha!), and I play a bit of everything.
I also mod for Doom using one of the sourceports so I can put a million and a half weapons in it :P I'd like to eventually build levels for it, though.
When I'm at home, I play on my XBox or SNES, Doom Collector's Edition, Dynasty Warriors and Gauntlet sit well with me :D And I love Scarface, too, one of the best movie-to-game transitions since Goldeneye. | |

I can't WAIT for Fable 2 and Assassin's Creed to come out. Those games look soooo amazing on so many levels.
I can't wait for teh PS3 to actually get some good exclusive games as well, lol. | |

Posted: 10/13/2007 6:30:55 AM | Chrono Trigger never sat all that well with me, I always saw it as an enhanced Breath of Fire; same streamlined characters in that they specialise in an equipment type as well is in abilities, but at least you could combine them. I also found CT to be pathetically short, and ironically, I didn't want more. I rank it in the same place as latter-day Final Fantasy, Half-Life and Halo; competent but wanting.
IMO, the best RPG of the SNES/Genesis era was Final Fantasy VI hands down. I mean, christ, you could manipulate levelling up and stats as soon as you got Espers. I find it interesting that 6 was more interesting than 5 and 3, being that they gave you much more freedom in character development, and 5 actually looked a little better than 6 because it had a brighter colour palette. But 5 also told you had to go to a place, but didn't tell you where it was half the time, which really annoyed me. "Oh, you have to go to this temple, it's really evil. Well, have a nice day!"
I'm definitely not partial to Japanese RPGs anymore; one, they thankfully aren't the only thing on the market, and 2, the biggest player, Square Enix has nothing on Atlus - that's one company I do stand behind on the other side of the Pacific. I just wish they'd get it over with and make the next Ogre Battle chapter, and Shining Soul 2 needs a sequel as well. | |

From then on I have Owned every system that has ever been released. I have a passion for gaming, not just because I enjoy playing the games... but because I believe they are works of art. It's amazing how much time and detail are put into it. For a very long time I have been trying to get a gaming career going. I have experience in creating a game world and designing it from the ground up. I play Eve Online and World of Warcraft, but I keep my time on them limited. It's easy to get hooked on those types of online games. Here's a list of my all time favs.

Posted: 12/1/2007 12:12:18 AM | @NateC --- chrono trigger did allow access to the boss rather quick but from my point of view it was in no way short.
sure you could kill the final boss at any time once you had control over choosing what timezone you teleport to, but there was a lot to explore for 100% completion (i mean, lots of timezeones which were optional which helped making fighting the final boss easier.)
about FF5, i agree they dont tell you where to go, but thats sort of how i like an RPG to be... an explorer is not told where to explore, they decide themselves. | |
