| Why isn't there a Gamer thread!? BRING ON THE VIDEOGAMES!
Posted: 4/7/2008 4:11:48 PM | I used to be a gamer, back in jr. high and high school...but then grew out of it, now video games are the things that I do when I have nothing to do...which is...almost never....last time I played my PS2...been probably about a year and a half, I don't even know if the damn thing works anymore...the thing is....hang on, I want to calculate how much money I would have saved up if I didn't buy my PS2 and all the games...
ohh wow...about 2.5K....
I could think of a lot better things to do with $2,500
ohh well

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X, VII Dirge of Cerebrus, The Legend of Dragoon, Kirby (NES), Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, God of War 1&2, all GTAs, Guitar Hero 2 &3, Rock Band, Mario Kart (snes)(64)(gamecube)(Wii), Wii Sports, any Zelda game, Guilty Gear, Street Fighters, almost any Mario game, Pacman, Star Ocean, Tales of Symphonia, Mortal Kombat, there could be more but thats all I can think of now | |

Posted: 5/6/2008 9:07:50 AM | Currently playing Battlefield 2 for the most part. However I do fire up my Win 3.11 machine for some good old DOS gaming moments. And I still play my N64 a lot, and the Wii fairly often too actually. 3* on all Grand Prix for the win right?  | |

Posted: 5/6/2008 10:06:33 PM | | I reccomend Chrono Trigger, Shenmue I and II, Gabriel Knight I, Hero's Quest/Quest for Glory I, the Space Quest series, King's Quest I, Police Quest I and II, Arcana, Mega Man II, and Secret of Monkey Island I. I really like Street Fighter II and most of III is good, but I dislike some of the endings. I think the Final Fantasy series is good conceptually, especially the earlier ones, with their general plots, and knights, magicians, and armor and such, but I didn't like a good deal of the dialogue and had problems with some specific things, whether major or minor that happened. I had even more problems with the later products, although there are some things that I like about all of them. I haven't played Chrono Cross, Monkey Island III or IV, Gabriel Knight II or III, much of Quest for Glory II or any of III, much or any of King's Quest other than I, Police Quests other than II, I haven't played all the Mega man games, but thought I was ok, just not as good as II, and I didn't like Monkey Island II. The Seiken Densetsu series is ok but kind of kiddish, Terranigma is ok for the most part but I disagree with some of it, and Secret of Evermore is ok, but sometimes stupid. I'll try to add more if I can remember more. | |

All the Sierra quest games. 
BTW, Chrono Cross is very neat.
Where Chrono Trigger was about time travel, Chrono Cross is about parallel worlds.
There are some interesting twists in the story using the crossing between parallel worlds.
I won't spoil the especially big one, but one character can inherit the most powerful weapon in the game twice, one from each parallel world.
And he will dual wield them all badass like. | |

i get my serious geek on with table top mini games like warhammer 40k, fantasy or i play D&D. | |

Favorites, I'd have to add:
Mortal Kombat series
Street Fighter series (the later ones with Marvel vs Capcom etc)
Primal Rage (dinosaurs and giant apes duking it out!)
Doom, Doom 3
Quake, Q2, Q3:Arena, Q4
Unreal Tournament series
Gears of War (newest addition to my FPS collection and very fun!)
(Despite playing these shooters, I am quite sensitive to excessive gore and violence!)
Earth 2140, 2150, Moon Project (real-time strategy, some of the best!)
Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale 2, Fall Out 2, Fallout: BOS (RPG)
I used to do nothing but play pc games up until a few years ago when I found my new passion, R/C cars! But that's another 5k.......I look back and realise I could have saved up for a down payment on a Nissan Sentra SE-R with all the money I dumped into PC gaming over 8 years (computers, accessories, the game CDs). Now gaming is a casual thing (thank god!) for me. | |

They should really add one, because video games are awesome, a huge industry with many gamers/fans and slowly, becoming acceptable in society, even though some people (especially, news reporters) still feel the need to **** and complain everything on video games.
Anyways, currently, I am not really playing any games, because I have become very busy. But, I did just recently buy Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty: World at War and I also regularly play World of Warcraft (80 Ret Paladin) even though I haven't for about a month, lol. I should also mention that I would love to meet some girls around my age that play WoW, haha.  | |
