I truly believe in love at first sight, but then again, I'm a romantic.
But, I don't believe it can be done on-line. Chemistry in person is very different than the on-line thing. People who are gushing about each other that have never met, leave my eyes rolling. Puhleeeze!!

i have to agree, probably infactuation ....
I think in the first week you just know whether or not you could fall in love with that person .... but being able to say that you love someone after a week is a little much .... takes more than a week to really get to know someone and even longer to fall in love with them .... | |

Posted: 6/2/2006 10:29:21 PM | I think it's a possible thing, but most of the time that I've fallen that fast, it turned out to be just a chemistry issue, serious lust from both sides and it faded fast and the crash was hard....the instances I"m referring to were in person, not online....almost all of the times I've had that happen, it's been with somone totally wrong for me...not my usual type...total loser types most of the time...so those feelings are not trustworthy.
As for online, I've fallen fast online in my early days online...those feelings too are NOT reliable, it's not a sure thing til you meet them in person! Feeling in love is an intoxicating feeling, there is no doubt about that, but be wary! | |

For every happy ending there is probably at least one divorce for moving too quick! If it is meant to be, it (love) will still be there a couple of months later. I almost moved too fast and got engaged after 35 days but it didn't work out, thankfully. The woman in question turned out to be unfaithful and unappreciative of how nice I treated her. | |

Posted: 6/5/2006 1:45:04 AM | I agree with Sienna. I met 3 men over a one year period that I knew shorter then a month's time. All proposed but it seemed desperate to me and as I got to know them, thats how it felt. My goodness, they did not even know me? How could they.
I am not counting it out as my friend Lelani met her hubby on a cruise ship, (1 week cruise)--married, had 2 kids and still together 30 years later. She relocated to the South with him and was so happy. They both were wealthy financially so that was not a thought. He is quite sick with cancer and she is a mess over it of course but there's is an undying love.
I just can't move that fast. I have to have a friendship and know I am compatible 1st. | |
