I think the reason you think mustaches and beards are out of date is because your still a baby and havent matured to a point of having either one grow in full.
You dont see why other guys grow them,,,,,,,,, because they can. Really, after having to shave everyday, maybe twice a day for a number of years, it gets old and its easier to let it grow in and trim it once a week.
I remember when i was your age, all that would grow was chinhairs and a wispy mustache

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/21/2006 7:56:57 PM | Well this is what I was interested in finding out ;)... Some men look good with 'em, some don't..as I'm sure some women look great with make up, and some look good without, the list goes on and on...And also, some people are 'into' style.. e.g what is in for the millenium and what was in back in the 70's, right?? Plus I know there are quite a few ways to wear a 'stache and a goatee, and a beard...could be very trimmed, could be a five o'clock shadow thing, could be just a little thingy on the chin, right under the lip, (I have Nooo idea what that's called, but it's sexy!
It is also about preference, that's why there are redheads, blondes, brunettes, etc...but interestingly (and this is a whole 'nother thread/topic, BUT look at how many women go blonde by the 'bottle' (yeah, yeah, myself included.....don't even ask me if I'm 'all natural'...lol) or any color by the bottle...as some men like redheads, etc..(BUT don't ya wonder about why soooo many women go blonde, more than any color???)
I am not going to ask or expect anyone to change on my behalf! However, my friends and I have talked about this topic a gazillion times, and many of us like them trim. Not bushy, not Kenny Rogersish...Plus, it's easy enough for a guy to change that look, right? Doesn't take long to grow a goatee or a short mustache....soooo, any of you ever do both and notice a difference on how women respond to you???? It's food for thought!

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/21/2006 8:10:27 PM | i think goatees are very sexy indeed and a moustache or beard has to be on right person because just sometimes they look a lil cheesy or very grizzly adamish.
but a sexy bald man with a goatee is very hot indeed.

Over the years, just about always had a mustache, maybe full, maybe trimmed. Had beard about a foot long, had it chopped up, trimmed in most every configuration possible. My Facial hair grows fast ,so its easy to play with. Mine comes in very full, from high on checkbone to chest. Used to be reddishbrown, now coming in mostly gray with reddish highlights. Some of the styles have gotten interested attention from women, others not so much.
Now I grow it or trim it to please me at the time. Just like you get your color from a bottle. Personal preference, if at some time there is a woman that I really care for and she wants to touch skin, got no problem with that,,know there is good skin under this hair,LOL
My preference in hair concerning women, long brown to blue/black in color,FYI

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/22/2006 4:20:25 AM | I have a goatee and like it a lot.
It not only covers a little scar that I have on the bottom of my chin, but it keeps me from looking like a kid. Women like it too when I...well, you know.
The facial hair fad that I don't quite understand is the micro-fine line beards guys wear that simply outline their lower jaw line. Some of them are so thin that I think the guys actually draw them on with an eyebrow pencil.

Some of them are so thin that I think the guys actually draw them on with an eyebrow pencil[q/uote] Yeah, yeah...I know what you mean..I've seen that a lot lately, guess it's a fad. I thought "What is up with that???"...lol...very weird..but maybe I'm just old... Men have a lot of room to play with facial hair, no pun intended..can wear it a lot of ways... like you are different rswindol ;).... I'm still stumped on the bushy stuff, though...I really don't think any women think that's hot... So far haven't seen one to say that on here yet...trimmed, yeah, goatee, yeah, 1 inch think NOT... I can understand some guys say they look young, but isn't that a good thing? Lookin younger?? lol..us women love to hear that one... PS, I shave my bod in the way that I do, because I like it that way, not to please a man or look better, it's my preference...in case you were wondering !!

Posted: 2/22/2006 9:24:18 AM | Okay, I'm going to 'blow' your theory that women don't like their men with hairy faces...(actually, I like them however they come..that isn't a deciding factor). I don't look at it as a 'style, or fashion, as much as it is their own personal preference. Fuzzy men, though...yummmm...it does need to be neat, though..if he looks like the homeless people in town, that isn't a good thing.

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/22/2006 10:23:18 AM | | I have always like a man with a regular sized mustache and regular sized gotee. NO BEARDS. Yukkk. To me a beard smells nasty, kind of like a man and woman's private area. Pheuwww. | |

Most of the time I'am clean shavein , but comes winter when its cold out or I'am just feeling lazy I'll let it grow . This last month I've been lazy . But the wife says it tickles the puss so that can't be all bad .

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/22/2006 7:13:41 PM | My grandpa had a beard for as long as I can remember. He had one of those "Richard" Clark type faces, and if he was clean shaven, he looked like he was a teenager. (before he went gray)
I happen to have a goatee right now. (I guess I should take a picture) But, if I have any facial hair, it's usually only in winter. (You know it's cold when ice collects on the hair under your nose and lower lip, but that's better than bare skin.)
