I think I'll go without it for a bit while looking around for a better job... seems the price of eveything around here is going up, up, up!

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 7/24/2006 11:00:05 PM | | There are lots of guys that I encounter that just don't care (like myself). We don't shave simply because it's easier not to and it helps keep the mosquitoes off the face. Not to mention for bush folks like myself we don't have running hot water so it makes it more of a chore. I've met women who like it and some who don't. If it's a deal breaker relationship wise then they're probably not the woman for me. Although I do notice more women checking me out when I lose the beard or most of it anyways. | |

I've been told if feels really good "down there" to a woman when you're in engaging in times of passion and pleasure.

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/6/2007 5:19:30 PM | | Ive had a mustache for over 10 years, shaved it once but was told I look like a kid. Been told to shave it and been told to keep it. Guess its just a preference. I kinda like to hope it compensates for whats falling out on top. Guess being a cop tilts the scales too | |

Some of the pencil thin ones are really great. But I'm weird. I like shaved bald heads too. Preferably shaved as close as possible....BIC is a good job.

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/11/2007 7:29:18 AM | Well, I had a moustache forever. (I must’ve tickled my mother on my way out! ) For a change of pace, I shaved it off last summer and discovered (to my chagrin) that I had no upper lip! I also saw my father every time I looked in the mirror—now he was a wonderful man and all, but that just gave me the heebie-jeebies. So even though people said I looked younger and even though it turns off that proportion of women who can’t look past it to see the real person behind the hair, I just had to grow it back. Went with a goatee look this time and actually like the way it looks on me. My face is just built to have hair on it. Just the way folks can choose to go blonde or brunette, you have to go with what looks and feels to be best for you. It’s too bad that some women will make a snap judgment and eliminate me based purely on what I wear on my face, but maybe that loss will be balanced out by the greater confidence I have now knowing I’ve found the right look for me. Who knows? | |

I don't give a sh1t about what's in style or the conclusions that vapid neurotics jump to.
I just like my stache. Funny how it signifies so many different things to so many different folks and can gross-out chicks at great distances.
It's kinda sad how many folks have to try so hard to keep on top of the latest fads and fashions, especially when they don't even know they are doing it.
The sheep says "Baaaahhhh, baaaahh". Come everyone, practice.

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 3/12/2008 8:56:26 AM | As a 55 yr old man who's sported a beard most of my adult life, I have it because: A) I think it makes me look more attractive B) When I was younger and tried to keep myself clean-shaven, no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it smooth. My facial hair grows in many different directions, so, to shave it smooth (with a razor blade and foam) would mean I have to shave in many different directions. I don't think I need to tell you how irritating that is. C) My initial solution was use an electric shaver which didn't shave as close. So, while I'd have the appearance of clean-shaven, it wasn't as smooth as I would like. D) I also thought that the women I wanted to attract, I would want them to like beards. I suppose it's all in the style -- different styles appeal to different women. I've had women who say they like beards. Without fail, I found that I liked these women. Not because they liked my beard, but, there was always something about their personality I liked. E) None of my male relatives on either side of my family had beards, so I guess you could say there was a little bit of rebellion (My teen years were the late 60's & early 70's) in growing the beard. There was not the least dislike by my parents, and they both said they liked it.
And that's why I have a beard.

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 3/12/2008 7:22:19 PM | I grow a beard in winter...helps keep my face form freezing off when it is hitting -35...plus the wind chill factor! Mostly "heavy scruff" along the sides, following the jaw line...cheeks clean shaved, and throat. Moustache and beard...lips kept clear and the that divot under my bottom lip clear. Then...3-5 inches of squared off manliness! (only about two inches wide)...but hey...I can stroke it and look wise...or have the kid tug on it when I am telling her the "three little pigs" story....sheesh..."not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin!" dang kid.
Come spring...it comes off...too warm, gets itchy...ditch it!
I had a full beard at one time...but Knobette didn't like it...so I was willing to compromise a bit on it. No big deal.

Let the guys do what they want to do with their appearance, and you just try to be a good behaved, respectful ladie ok
Also, I have a question for you, why don't you grow your hair longer and maybe dye your hair black or dark brown, just like I like it. That way you will look better and maybe be more secure about yourself lol

There's a guy at work who has a white mustache with nicotine stains

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/8/2009 11:38:00 AM | oh gosh, I am such a sucker for a nice thick, full beard . I think almost all guys look infinitely BETTER with a beard. Or a nice set of mutton chops, or a debonair looking/ironic 70's porn stash. I'm not a big fan of goatees or the soul patch though, go figure, they turn me off. But a big thick long beard, yes please! | |

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/8/2009 11:53:44 AM | It depends on the man I suppose. I hated a goatee on my ex but on some men I think it is hot. I think it depends on the guy. I'm not sure that I like the Tom Selleck full mustache look though. I haven't dated a guy with that type of facial hair. I can take or leave facial hair on a man I suppose. Now the 5 o'clock shadow on a guy.....I like! | |

| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 3/11/2009 6:24:10 PM | I absolutely love beards and mustaches. Men are supposed to be hairy.
It's very cool that men can change their appearance by adding and subtracting their whiskers. Some men definitely look better with some hair on their face. IMO the men who are losing their hair look better with some facial hair.
It can camoflage a double chin or the "weak" chin, it can make some look more "manly" if they have a child-like face, etc. I'm not fond of the 5 o'clock shadow. It can look good on some men but it would be very scratchy. Facial hair fully grown is not scratchy and can be soft.
A friend of mine with a full beard (he's a sea captain), sometimes gets food in his beard while eating. When I point it out, his comment is "I'm saving it for Ron." Ron? "Yeah, for later on." (later ron) All men that I know who have facial hair makes sure it is clean after eating.
