Leo_goddess, you have some great locations there. You're not the first one to suggest volunteering and going to the gym... those two seem like gold, I've been wanting to try those for a long time.
As for the preschool, I've known a lot of loving, wonderful women who have worked at preschools. I guess the hard part is justifying why you're there if you don't have kids... "Yes, I was just sitting in the parking lot admiring you as you played with small children on the other side of this iron fence..."
and come on, the FedEx guy? It's the UPS guy that wears the short shorts!
I've thought a lot about the grocery store, but it's just always seemed way too creepy and awkward for me... Cute woman glancing through the milk... "Think I should spend the extra .50 for the brand name, not-quite-as-scary milk? ... Are you a 2% woman? ... Think I'm too old for chocolate milk? ... Wow, I sure do love dairy products, don't you?"
I think I'll pass on that.
Some places I've considered / tried...
Book stores - They're full of intelligent women who aren't typically in a rush. As an added bonus, their interests are typically posted in big bold letters on the bookcase above them.
Craft stores - Full of creative women, and (usually) your quieter types. Here you find women who would rather stay at home and scrapbook/sew/paint than go out and get rowdy on a Friday night.
Regular (not dog) parks - Lots of women who are jogging, or just out getting some air. I've found it hard to approach women in parks... it just seems awkward... but if you're a jogger, you can meet other joggers.
"womens" stores - Like Bed, Bath and Beyond. I haven't actually tried this one, but it seems like if you go in just being the average clueless male who doesn't know what towels go with what shower curtain, etc etc... you can find some ladies who wouldn't mind helping you out, and can strike up a pleasant conversation.
Of course, I haven't "picked up" anybody at these places. I have had some nice conversations with some women, which is all I wanted. One day if I get a number, that'll just be a bonus.
Yup, nothing quiet like a single guy who isn't picking up women giving another single guy advice on picking up women...
...where's that cancel button?

I didn't persue the FedEx guy... I just got a package and he hit on me in my pjs... it wasn't planned or anything...
Even though UPS has short shorts... they are yucky brown!
"womens" stores - Like Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Don't confuse this with intimate apparal stores... I can deal with men in there and shopping but it's darn right creepy if they strike up a casual conversation and start asking about underwear or hit on you.

But the last time I was at one I was there with my boyfriend at the time. I think if you think of a special something that you are interested in like say..shooting pool, well then go to the local college or billiards place. They do have pool tables other places than at bars! I usually end up "hooking up" with old loves...dumb dumb dumb!!! There is a reason they are called EX'S! lol

Damn I either miss or the plastic bebees have no effect , yeah dudes , to me ,since I am not the best physical speciaman like most guys , I am more of a 1 out of a 100 success rate if that and I am not even that old .
Women do not want a guy like me , no matter where I try , that is why I kind of pay for dates, I already mentioned that at different posts , got flamed who cares , got to go out and enjoy having fun with someone .
Yes I am a loser , so what ?

So in a video store, if you are the video clerk you got the chance to tell her what movies she may like..but being a customer like her? Ya I doubt there is any chance there. So many places are typical now it seems. Like teh dentist, I am not c=gonna try to strike up a conversation with the woman across from me in the waiting room to pick her up..maybe the Hygenist, they are always cuties and the dental ass't are as well LOL.

| Other pick up locations than bars/clubs. Posted: 2/23/2006 11:15:08 AM | | no place is a place to meet women , so many guys have hit on them in the past since they were like forteen , now that they are older , they are so defensive , even when a guy is not even intending to hit on them . | |
