| does anyone get as turned off with a smoker as i do? Posted: 9/14/2007 6:26:06 AM | Over the years, I've been contacted by some good looking guys and when I read their profile and see smoker, I delete. That's non-negotiable. I dated smokers in my 20s and decided to never do it again. It's disgusting and I don't want that in my life. I like men who follow a healthy life style.
Sometimes I've written back to say that my profile always says no drugs or smokers and they tell me they're trying to quit, have just quit or won't smoke around me. I never beleive them and as for not smoking around me, they always smell of smoke when you meet them since that had to sneak in one more before the date. Smokers need not apply.

Posted: 9/14/2007 11:20:28 AM | Here's what turns me off, weenie whiny little wussies who frequent internet-dating web sites and whine about smokers. If you've missed your yoghurt enema today, please suppress the urge to spout your hangups in a public fashion.
And please consider this fact: smokers don't actually give a sh*t what you think about them, and you're probably too anally-retentive, white, whiney, and feeble-minded to consider from the get-go.
I know, it's a blow to your self-importance, now back to your daytime television.
Besides, when you're 80yrs old being spoon-fed mush by your children, spending 1000s daily on medication, we'll have long been gone to some better dimension. And we'll enjoyed ourselves by simply avoiding your types that stare in the mirror all day so anally retentive, homogenized and domesticated that they can't sit down for fear of sucking up the furniture.

I've got custody of my 10 year old grandson, and I surely don't want him exposed to second hand smoke or be exposed to someone that does smoke.
To me, kissing a smoker is like kissing an ashtray.
big turn off!! | |

| does anyone get as turned off with a smoker as i do? Posted: 9/16/2007 6:10:40 PM | I cannot stand smokers period ! It is gross . nOt one thing sexy about it and most of them have a nasty attitutde about nonsmokers and regards to others health and in general turn viciousl vindictive for no reason.I have seen the grief it brings in life to everyone healthy or not .Sooner or later health issues pop up and that is a very difficult thing to stomach when you are thinking hey I really like this person but they aren't about to get me sick or stick up my environment!Already been there a life time with many deaths caused due to the nasty habit and heartbreak over a fellow that was to be my future mate only to find out he was dying of lung cancer and neglected to share that bit of information till I was hooked.Real good reason to be turned off.nOt to mention it's not just the air when they aredoing so it ruins taste of everything including intimate experience if you get my drift.I taste the nicotine even in the bodily fluids !And its totally discusting and in nonsmokers a nice experience if we manage to get that far! So that is why I went back and stated it in my profile nonsmokers please. Please nobody get mad because you smoke .I do have many friends and family that does and I begged them every chance to quit.Only sharing my thoughts and reasoning behind the smoking discussion turn off. | |

Every time I hear someone saying "smokers are bad, OKay?", I just reach for a cigarette. Great way to help someone quit? Quite the opposite, in fact.
Tolerance and love, is what I believe in. Tolerance and love.

After reading all the responses about how people simply detest other humans because of a habit I found myself laughing out loud when I got to his. The greatest thing about forums is all the different opinions It would be boring as all hell to read if we all agreed. A little rant is not such a bad thing and I have seen most (including myself) do it on here.

It's no fun being with someone who smokes and getting home and having my hair smell of smoke and my clothes. Plus the smell of smoke gives me a headache. Personally I can't understand why someone should set fire to something and put it in their mouth! But each to their own and I wouldn't even tell someone to stop smoking. People know I hate it though.

| does anyone get as turned off with a smoker as i do? Posted: 5/11/2008 7:49:55 AM | Okay, here goes.
I am a non-smoker. I've never had a single puff of a cigarette in my entire life. I am very non-judgemental, though. If a guy i'm really interested in, who has every quality I look for in a person, is also a smoker it would be stupid of me to make THAT the deal breaker.
I have dated smokers before, and let me just say that they made a conscious effort to smell great all the time. I also never tasted their cigarettes. They were respectful enough not to smoke in my home, or in the car. I don't think it's really that big of a problem, aside from the possible health risks. That being said, anyone can get cancer. I'm a perfect example. I have lead a healthy lifestyle since the day I was born, and was diagnosed at 22.
Lastly, I gotta say that as old fashioned as it is, some people find smokng sexy. With the right person, I can be one of those women. When the guy is great, everything about them is sexy...even their bad habits. (To a point. There's nothing sexy about needles and stuff. lol.)

He is right you know - in the long run, non smoking health nuts are a greater burden to the health care system than smokers because they live so bloody long, lol. I've read somewhere it's about 7 years longer with a multitute of old age ailments. Oh well, I say live and let live!

| does anyone get as turned off with a smoker as i do? Posted: 5/11/2008 8:36:04 AM | I am a smoker, but I always 'freshen up' with febreez and mouthwash. I KNOW it doesn't mask it all...I'm not that stupid. All too many times, I have dated a 'posted' NON-smoker, only to discover he was a smoker, but wanted to appear "better". I make sure when I respond to a posting the other party knows I smoke. No, I won't smoke in your car or inside, but my habit is a part of me. Want perfect? Look elsewhere! If the smoking thing is the 'stumbling block'...how about men who post a pic that is >10 years old? You meet them and they are NOT what they said they are. Enuff said! | |

Posted: 5/11/2008 8:48:19 AM | I'm not passing judgement on anyone ( oh dare we offend ) I have many friends who smoke but my preference is to date spend my life with someone who doesn't smell of smoke and is looking for a healthier lifestyle ( no I'm not a health junkie ) I would like to applaud all who have quit smoking it is a challenge..................

a waste of time viewing and thinking about a person...that cigarette comes out and I think what a weak person, needing a crutch, showing off in public, need to have hands occupied, the way she blows the smoke in a showy fashion, the way she holds the cigarette... the face she then makes trying to look cool...and her stance changes as well trying to emit confidence...it's all in weakness of character. if she's in a car she'll often stretch her arm so far out to let everyone around to see she's cool, and then she throws the burning cigarette out from the car...i've seen this so often...really makes me think what a wonderful person she is! I alerted a cop nearby one time to get after a young chick throwing a burning object from the car...he probably just warned her but maybe she learned something.
what follows is thinking of how worldy she is in other ways...
and then you can think how poor of a spender she is...irresponsible...no nutritional value with a high cost.
and then the stench of clothes...and worry about setting fires. the stench of her mouth. the odor that would permeate wherever she was.
OF THOSE WHO SMOKE, WOMEN........(and men for women).............WAKE UP!!!!!!!
IT'S THE NASTIEST DAMN HABIT THERE IS! even shooting up drugs doesn't give all the stench associated with cigarettes!
And imagine the FOUL taste of the pu$$y !!!!!!!!! ISN'T THAT ENOUGH TO DISCOURAGE SMOKING?????????????????

| does anyone get as turned off with a smoker as i do? Posted: 5/11/2008 8:57:35 AM | Smokers do smell. Everything, clothes, hair, breath, it's gross. I quit smoking in December '05 and sometimes feel like lighting up when I get stressed out, but the feeling passes. I feel a lot better without cigarettes. I was around a lot of smokers when I was smoking, but no longer see those people, so it was easy to quit. And it's weird that I didn't feel those urges to smoke all the time. I guess feeling better was better than needing a smoke. | |
