And, how about instead of sending all the smokers out of places like restaurants and bars so we dont pollute your air...why dont YOU go outside and get all the fresh air u want...afterall, we're polluting the air outside too, isnt' that better than the confines of four walls???? (But, really, I dont' care to smoke in restaurants either, I'm there to eat, not smoke) | |

Posted: 2/22/2006 11:26:34 PM | wow. this is 2006, so why cant everyone just accept what other people do. yes us smokers know its bad, and some us want to quite. we are addicted to it, we need help to quit, we dont need no smokers putting us down because we have a addiction. people who use drugs get more help to quit off then smokers get. yes i know there are programs out there to quit smoking, tried the gum, lol never wanted a smoke more then ever. anyways, what im trying is, we all have to live togather in this world. so lets all just worry about stuff thats a lil more important. and as a smoker i quess i find it a turn off sometimes when a woman smokes, but i wouldnt let that come in between me dating her.
life is to short, lol i know i smoke, i would love to quit.  | |

Oh I can accept what other people do alright. As long as they don't do it around me. However, I will have nothing to do with a smoker. I don't like to be assaulted by their smoke. And to kiss a smoker--that's nasty.
Smokers are so inconsiderate; they think they have a right to burn my eyes and damage my health with their smoke; however, they don't believe I have the right to defend myself by hitting them back with a baseball bat. They don't even like it if I throw water in their face to kill the fire causing the smoke. | |

Posted: 2/23/2006 2:30:13 AM | I don't think the point of this post is to bash smokers.....I think the point is, that you can't fault a non-smoker who will not date a smoker and that it definately can be a deal breaker.
Now, if a smoker has a problem with non-smokers who won't date them, well you can't fault them for that.....because its more along the lines of a health issue. And if you dated someone that could be a health issue to, it wouldn't be to wise to do so.
I mean, we are adults we can do what we want, just saying, majority of non-smokers won't date smokers....sure, they have smoking friends, but as a SO, not highly likely. | |

And people who smoke pot daily then turn to me, stoned ...and used to say smoking is bad for you dude...... Not saying that is anyone on here, Im just saying people I have met in real life. 
It is a bad habit. But what a lot of people have to realise is that an older generation didnt know about how bad until the early 80s I think it all the news starting coming in [ im up to hear the stats on that if anyone has them] . And no Im not 67, but 37 and I can remember at the tender age of 18 working my first job in an office where people smoked inside at work, with ashtrays on every desk and in the boardrooms. Unthinkable these days. But the point is you grew up puffing as teenagers and then when you were adutls you found out and OMG its so lethal for you and everyone else, it is very hard for some to stop completely.
However you younguns...[ wheres my walking frame??] got no excuse ~~ DONT DO IT !!!
Ps gotta love the old black and white movies where married couples smoked in bed

What if.....you met the person of your dreams...and he /she was an occasional (emphasis on the "OCCASIONAL" part) smoker and you didn't find out until you were a couple of years into the relationship. Lets get past the "I would know he/she smokes bla bla bla crap" for the purpose of this little scenario.
The question remains...what would you do????
Just for the record...I am a non smoker and yes seeing a woman smoking is a huge turnoff...even more than a woman that has tatoo(s)...now there's another topic to be discussed | |

There's a lot of smokers on here, I know that. Whenever I click on a profile and see that he smokes at all, I click it right off and go onto the next one. The smell is enough for me..ugh. | |
