Oh Christ, people. Don't smoke if you don't want to - just don't get so self-righteous about it. Jesus...

I am MORE turned off by chewing tobacco. It's disgusting, and I don't want to watch a guy look like a cow chewing her cud then spitting it out. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!!

Frankly I'd rather be in a roomful of sober smokers than a bunch of nonsmoking drunks! People don't usually puke from smoking.

With that said, I don't smoke but I have no problem with a guy who enjoys an occasional cigar or pipe. My fave aunt in the whole wide world smokes ONE cigarette a day with her after dinner glass of wine. And she is the coolest aunt EVER.

So, a drunk cud chewer is DEFINITELY out for me. A chain smoker would not work out for me either. But a light smoker who only smokes an occasional cigar, pipe or cigarette, well there are far worse flaws than that :-)!! Hey nobody's perfect, least of all me--I'm a coffeeholic and chocoholic.

Cigarette boats anyone??? I could not resist. Sorry!! I just love those kinds of boats and giggle at the idea of maybe getting one someday.

Oh yeah ... yuk!
I got such a bad experience once when during a girl at a party got closer to me to talk, as it was getting loud around and I could barely stand her breath (even worse trust me when you're allergic to smoke as I do lol)

It is clearly indicated on my profile smoke : often.....

It is a real turnoff for me when someone contacts me ...we finally meet and she expresses surprise that I smoke..........this has happened twice...

READ the profile , if smoking was a dealbreaker for you, simply DO NOT contact those who have indicated on their profiles that they smoke.

Seriously, though... what the hell do you nonsmokers do after sex? Eat taffy? Shake hands? I mean, I'm in the dark here.

You asked.

We told you.

But then you said:

Oh Christ, people. Don't smoke if you don't want to - just don't get so self-righteous about it. Jesus...

So, don't get so defensive about it.

Bingo. People are too fast to click, and don't actually read profiles. I do searches where smokers don't come up at all. So anybody I contact will have said "no" to that question. It's a dealbreaker for me, so I make sure of that before I read anything else.

Yes, canock I sure do. I use to smoke myself, and even has a smoker the smell bothered me at times. I quit for my health, of course - the hacking was just not worth it. I started at a young age, and smoked off/on for several years - tough habit to stop.

I dated smokers when a was one, and as a non - smoker, and sometimes I really enjoy the smell, that's when it's tough to not give in, and have one....well other times it is absolutely repulsive. I do not know why, but it turns me on to see someone with a cigarette, but to have to kiss that ashtray is another story.

I said that I would not date a smoker, but I cannot just push my feelings aside for this guy I met. I like him, and I do not like the fact that he smokes. He is a decent guy, and I do not want to give this quality up. I will not kiss him after he's has one, and this works out to my benefit - he smokes less around me.

I'd take a smoker over a cheater, liar, alcoholic, or abuser any day.

I smoke.

I have never had a woman tell me "I will not date you because you smoke".

Actually, they usually start smoking, which is almost worse.

Trying to convince my fiancee that we should quit. Smoking costs $600 a month. You can do a lot with an extra $600 a month.

I smoke also...and I've been around people who don't smoke whose breath has smelled much worse than any smokers I've been around. Not every smoker has bad breath and not every non-smoker has great breath.

I've had people say they would never date a smoker...and on other dating sites I've had guys who say in their profiles 'non-smoker a must' decide that maybe that a smoker isn't so bad so they contact me anyway, lol. Personally, I prefer someone who smokes only so I don't have to listen to them be a pain about me quitting. I go to the res and get my cartons for about $22-25 US and only go through maybe 3-4 cartons a month, if that. If I had to pay $300-600 a month, there's no way I'd smoke cigarettes; I'd have to switch to cigars ;)

I am an occasional smoker. I don't smoke everyday but once a month or so just as a ritual.
Is that so bad?
When I smoke in public, I get approached by men who smoke and they ask me for a light or to buy one off me and it's a conversation starter!
I met some pretty decent men that way. Some men don't know how to approach.
I'm just happy when a guy gets the courage to come up and talk to me.
I dislike it with a passion that a guy will disregard you for one thing or another! Whether it be my weight or appearance; my occasional smoking habit; or what have you! I think, "thank-you but don't bother...judge me, fine. I don't want to be with you either!"
If you must judge someone at all, then let it be on their actions or personality.

I don't find anything wrong with not wanting to be around a smoker. Their clothes stink and kissing them isn't the best thing unless they shower and use lots of mouthwash beoforehand and the coughing gets on some people's nerves when it's excessive. Oh, and the yellow teeth, yuck. I'm against smoking but if somebody chooses to do that, fine. I'd rather not be around them though.

workinggirl

It absolutely disgusts me.

So much so, that no matter the man...I would never date him if he smoked.

how do you feel when your man goes to work and while he is there he goes takes a dump and he makes several visits to the urinal to shake the snake where othere men have been all day. when he comes home you think nothing of dropping on to your knees and show your love for him..

i would rather kiss a smoker

regular smokers are a big turn-off for me.... i mean i don't like to kiss an ash-tray ...lol.... jokes apart; i have a lot of smoker friends so i do not have an issue with it... but i wud not like to go long-term with a regular smoker... the reason is simple; once she bears our child it wud be unhealthy (risky) while she is pregnant and when the kid is an infant totally dependent on mother for his basic needs... and i can not / do not want to change anyone or force them to do anything that they would not like to do... as far as bad breath or smelling body is concerned, i expect those type of smell to emanate out of human bodies (im not saying i like it, but i can live with it)...and no amount of sprays and medication can help it...

the funny part is that while looking for an online date i only look for non-smokers but in normal life its ok if the women smokes ocassioanlly (like once a day)

Even worse is chewing tobacco--EEEWWWW!! The spitting and having a nasty cud of tobacco bulging on one side of the mouth--disgusting!!

The occasional pipe or cigar is okay with me, but a chainsmoker is a BIG turnoff with me.

THE BIGGEST turnoff about smokers are the idiots who throw lit cigarettes out of their cars!! People, that has caused forest fires, and people have DIED in forest fires. Someone I know was driving a convertible. A cigarette hit his chest and went down into his shirt, causing him to have a very painful burn on his chest. Dangerous, if you ask me!! This guy was in pain and distracted by someone's selfish stupidity!!!

FOLKS, USE YOUR ASHTRAY to dispose of cigarettes!!!!

The road is NOT your ashtray, smokers!!

Someone may be very attractive but if they smoke-Total turn-off. The smell-nicotine stained fingers-their clothes reeking and spitting. Women who wear parfum but smoke-god why bother-the only thing you can detect is is nicotine. Give the planet a break.

I'm a smoker.

For dating though I find most of the people I've met don't smoke. Or say so in their profiles.

Ironically, I've had quite a few say you haven't had a cigarette. As I don't smoke around non smokers.

Then, ask me for a smoke on a date!!!

Don't figure!!! It's been quite bizarre.
