My last girlfriend though was a virgin, we dated for 8 months, she wanted it, she said so, but didn't want to do it until at the earliest we were to get engaged. I loved her, and part of me still does. But amounst other things, it was driving me insane.

Would you led your child give up in school if they failed a test? or would you have compassion on them and tell them to "get up and try again, never give up, you can do it"! How special it would be for the families attending the ceremony, even more so for the two getting married. Knowing that, they made it, what a journey, what an exciting night. It's difficult at first, but it does get easier. And I really do sympathize with you in your search. Nearly all of the men I have encountered, even on the Christian dating sites were not virgins, and so decided abstinance was no longer an option. They basically gave into the sin and decided it's fine. It can be a little depressing at times! But hang in there, There are also some great Christian men who are abstaining, and even some virgins out there still. They're harder to find, but they are out there. | |

However, there is no single reason for my decision. I'm a very logical person and weigh all the pros and cons before making decisions. I also don't drink alcohol or speak profanely.
There are plenty of other male virgins...we don't exactly have ads in the Yellow Pages though. Maybe there should be a dating site with the "I'm still virgin" checkbox? I've actually never met a female virgin over the age of 24 though.
I haven't gotten much flack, but it seems to me that most of the verbal bashing comes from non-virgins directed toward virgins. Maybe that's just because the majority of people on these forums have had sex? Obviously, I have friends with opinions that differ from my own. I embrace sharing viewpoints and learning from others. However, I have very little respect for those just out to "get some" and treat the opposite (or same) sex as a mere object to satisfy a passing whim. What I'm looking for is someone who is respectful and responsible. | |

I am a biblical Christian who avoids fornication and adultery, and because STD's are widespread. I came close to loosing my virginity years ago when my faith was weaker. In the US, with its increasingly loose morals, the loneliness and rejection produced by male virginity is often more than most men can bear, and they usually yield to the temptation. | |

Perhaps they exist at all ages, but in society today, I think the number starts dwindling even more at early to mid-twenties. This isn't scientific, of course, just my impression. Iit seems different for women (I'm one of them). I still wonder why that is.
Of course, who knows how many are losing their virginity before they even graduate high school. | |
