| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/1/2007 8:33:41 AM | | Wow, badboy... that's so unnecessary to call heavy women "horses". I'm not in the heavy category myself, but I would never be so mean as to call anyone a name like that or laugh at them. Everyone has feelings and everyone deserves to find the right person to love them. Just because that's not the type you're attracted to doesn't mean a heavy woman (or man) is unworthy of love. | |

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/1/2007 2:04:06 PM | LOL. I think it's funny that he calls someone that weighs 185 pounds a horse. Why is it so hard for men to realize that larger women can be healthy? I saw an article a couple of years ago about a woman who weighed 185 pounds and taught an aerobics class. Her body was solid and well-proportioned. She ate healthy meals & snacks, drank alot of water and according to her doctor she was in perfect health. She was happy and looked fantastic! She spoke of the negative statements she'd overheard from people at her club....not realizing it was HER teaching the class. And because a large woman was teaching an aerobics class, more big women were joining and getting the exercise they needed. Unfortunately, I'm not her, but I'd love to be. I'm not "curvy" and don't have "a few extra pounds". I am a BBW plain and simple. I don't lie in my profiles and any pictures I post of myself are fairly recent. I'm not happy with my size so I'm working on it. I joined the Y, I go swimming and I walk whenever I can. I still need to learn alot more about nutrition and stuff, but aside from that, I LIKE myself. I have a great sense of humor and don't think I'm bad on the eyes at all. I also think it's humorous that some shallow people are unable to grasp the concept of Thyroid disorders, psychological disorders (depression),genetics, medical conditions and other things having ANYTHING to do with a person's size. Of course there are lazy people out there that eat at BK or McDonalds all the time that really don't need to and still others who blame their weight entirely on their thyroid conditions or whatever. I agree that this country is full of obese, unhealthy people and the only way for these people to lose the weight and get healthy is to stop misplacing blame and take control. I don't choose my friends by the way they look. I'm attracted to someone's personality before their looks. I've met some women who were really pretty and had "perfect" bodies, who honestly, I was jealous of. But, after getting to know them and experiencing their catiness and back-stabbing, I decided that was enough. I've dated several different types of men..thin, "normal", athletic and overweight. I think it's great when a guy is active and doesn't sit around being a couch potato. But when someone spends 2 hours a night every night at the gym, that's a little too much. How can you expect to have any quality of life when you're trying to be Mr. Universe? Just my two cents...sorry for the book. | |

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/1/2007 4:08:33 PM | | Here we're talking the physical so....I prefer curvy in the Marilyn Monroe or Jennifer Lopez tradition. Physically, I like women to look and, when holding them, to feel like women and not stick figures. | |

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/1/2007 7:58:03 PM | Yes, There really should be a curvy category for women! There are women who are carrying some extra lbs but it happens to be distibuted well and they can only be categorized as CURVY. Most curve officiantos would not say they needed to lose weight. Which is different for "A few extra lbs" which designates the body type which is not aeful but would be better off minus 20 lbs. Ive seen that on other sites the list being Thin or Slender, Average, Athletic, Curvy, A few extra lbs, BBW, and sometimes I see the Muscular category. The more designation the easier it is for people to pick what they are comfortable with.

| curvy or thin Posted: 1/4/2007 10:12:58 PM | | Who cares it all boils down to personal preference. Nobody can please everyperson so either accept it or change . | |

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/5/2007 8:29:29 AM | I agree... they are not enough ways to describe something like this. It pigeon holes someone into the "overweight" category and that is just not fair. Besides curvy is healthy and not fat! I prefer curvy girls because to me they are beautiful! Being too thin is like a Q- tip ewwwwww! | |

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/11/2007 7:16:35 AM | The problem with "curvy" is that many women are flat out dishonest about their weight. How many describe themselves as "average" when even "a few extra pounds" would be generous. Curvy would just introduce a whole new mess - and would give the girls who ARE genuinely curvy a bad name.
I don't mind a voluptuous woman - but that has become the new fat. Its disheartening when a girl who is shaped like a potato describes herself as thick or curvy. ONE BIG CURVE DOESNT COUNT. Its also disheartening when they post dishonest pictures - ie: pics from a few years ago, before the pounds.
Some weight is fine, especially in the right places. Perhaps its just me however - but the few i've met up with from here are not "thick" - its just fat... spare tire, beer gut, flat ass fat. No thanks.

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/11/2007 8:20:16 AM | wow could Steve be a bigger jerk? just wondering. I'm not fat nor am i anorexic. But, honestly what the heck does being fat or skinny have to do with anything? why are you looking or just the prettiest girl out there? calling a girl fat is plain rude. you don't have to be a jerl about it. honestly this post has made me mad. Just Steve tho. Eveyone else didn't really have rude things to say. why is it that a skinny girl can be called anorexic & a chunky girl gets called fat? either way both names suck! you shouldn't be looking for a skinny model material girl... you'll end up with a snob... beauty comes from the heart not the boobs... jerk.
this post was ment only for that jerk to read. get over yourself... its not like your all that gorgeous anyways.

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/11/2007 9:53:38 AM | | It does boil down to personal preference, but I think this question of “thin or curvy” is important for the following reason. I can’t speak for the attitudes in other countries, but here, in the U.S., women seem to needlessly suffer great angst over being “overweight” when all they are is curvy. I hear this anxiousness from women friends and from women talking about it in the media. Women turn to rail thin models as the template for the way women should appear in order to be desired. I’m speaking generally, but it has been my experience, when talking with male friends and reading about the subject, that most men prefer the curvy (re: Jennifer Lopez) shape or even a little over that. The media causes great stress in many women by promoting rail thin as the preferred physical image, which is ironic in the wake of the evidence that suggests otherwise. I don’t have a bibliography of what I read on the subject, but, if interested, look for it. It’s out there. Your experiences may very well differ, but this is how I view it. | |

|
| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/11/2007 8:27:05 PM | I think we have gotten way far away from the original point of this thread, which is should the site have an additional category for women called "curvy?"
(To which I voted yes). | |

| Curvy or Thin? Posted: 1/12/2007 11:45:34 AM | Definatly curvy.....I hate the idea of having to use the category of a few extra pounds...call me vain to say I have curves. At 5'6 and 138 - 140lbs., Im def curvy. But, I guess, it all comes down to what another person is looking for. Myself, I prefer tall men with some muscle on them...even a few (and I do mean a FEW) extra pounds, to thin guys. Don't wanna feel bones sticken me when Im sittin on his lap . Hope all here have a great weekend...rock on.... | |
