| As Inspired by the BC forums: Where'd You Go to Highschool? Posted: 6/5/2006 9:29:09 AM | I narrowly escaped Amherst Regional High School in Amherst, Nova Scotia in 1999. Most of my "peers" graduated in 1998. I was stabbed in the right ear, school staff, classmates ( classenemies) and police all colaborated in covering the incident up. I was such an invisible loser anyway that noone would bother to testify as witnesses. Nothing could be proved and nobody "saw anything". I tired to charge for criminal negligence and after I was told it would take years to drag through court, I dropped lawsuit intentions. One thing is for certain... If this happened in the USA, I would be a multimillionaire. In Canada, I would be lucky to haul a 10 year court battle out for $20,000. As it stands, I'm lucky I didn't take the law into my own hands like I originally intended. My mother and I were even ignored by the local TV news agencies! She was battling cancer at the time too. We were also discriminated against for being a single parent family. My dad was caught up in a lawsuit for my sister who was in an accident that happened the previous year. Her court battle continues to this day! ...almost 10 years later and she received maybe $5000 but that doesn't count the over $20,000 in legal fees. Damn legal system!! It rewards criminals and f**ks the victims.
The next time you see something about a school threat or a scare on the news.. Remember what they don't tell you. I have pretty much forgiven the people involved in the incident. However, I don't forgive the action itself but have since found better ways of dealing with it than violence. I continue to get the story out to help people realize that there's still alot of this kind of crap going on out there.

Posted: 6/6/2006 2:40:33 PM | | legere wasn't too bad when you compare him to mr.wilson getting some girl pregnant and yes gotta love mrs.kitchen and french class would have never been the same without good old mr. albert. scarry to think all of those teachers taught both me and my mother. where abouts in calgary did you end up. i was out there for a few months about 3 summers ago now i think it was...this one will make the third but the ideas of daycare outdoor play areas being on the roof and that being common out there made me pack my babies up and move us back home...well..close enough to home..fredericton.

| As Inspired by the BC forums: Where'd You Go to Highschool? Posted: 6/7/2006 5:22:37 AM | | i used to work near saddleridge, in a round about sort of way, was probably 20 mins or so from it in one of the industrial area's inbetween there and the airport. but as for living we started out right in the down town took the first place we could afford when we arrived and within a couple days learned that we were living in crack head centeral so moved first to bridgetown and then to beddington, rented the basement from my cousin in beddington. all in all i loved it there for me but hated it there for my kids, i guess after being braught up here i beleive that kids should have a yard to run and play in not a roof to play on and if they are a climber end up going up and over the not very high fencing around the roof and end up splattered on a sidewalk somewhere. i soooooo miss the c-train though, i could be from my house in beddington to work in the far NE in less than an hour (had to take the bus down town to catch the train). | |
