| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 3/14/2006 9:40:21 PM | I think it's how we're supposed to figure out what an appropriate age gap would be for ourself. I believe the OP said it was "failsafe" ... I'm not entirely convinced that it would be appropriate for me to date someone who is young enough to be my son.
I'm thinking that if you're over 40, you need to add 17 instead of 7. Let's see, 1/2 of 56 is 28 plus 17 ... that leaves me with the possibility of dating a 45 year old man or older ... yea, I could eventually do that.
Go Cougar ... Go cougar ... Go cougar!

| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 3/16/2006 4:33:19 AM | ^^^^ Yea ... I'm thinking I'm not the only lady out there who does not want to date a guy who is almost young enough to be my child! The energy level would probably be fun though.

| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 3/20/2006 3:55:55 AM | | I'm limited to 25? This system is majorly flawed. I'm pissed. Don't worry about it for a second females. But now guys....we're dirty, dog, peices-of-****-wanting asses. We need some limitations. LOL, or we'd just go even crazier. The limitations might keep our little minds on a smaller group, which would be better for society as a whole, but women CAN be capable of better judgement than us, they just tend to get TOO emotional. We want one thing, they want everything. Major conflict of interests, and now looking from the outside in it's hilarious! | |

| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 3/22/2006 3:38:23 AM | | I have a different formula. If he's closer to my Mother's age (64) or my daughter's age (16) than he is to my age, then I generally pass. Exceptions have been known to happen though. | |

| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 3/22/2006 3:13:13 PM | | My dad didn't use this formula for his second wife. When they got married, he was 32, she was 22, and I was 12. Strangely enough, 17 years later, they're still happily married. | |

| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 3/28/2006 5:17:39 AM | | I meet a young lady, that had the best honest answer I have heard, " Pop if I were 20 years older and you were 20 years younger, we would get it on." The age difference of 63 & 23 = 40, the girl had the quick answer, but I also have to tell you that these rules are often broken. " the Bump" | |

| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 7/5/2007 9:11:00 AM | | I came up with 26.5 (I'm 39), and that seems way too young IMO. But then, I usually stick within the 5-7 year range myself, as the people will be fairly similar to myself as far as having similar experiences. I'm not so sure I would want to be dating someone who just barely graduated from college. It seems like an attempt to relive my former glory days, and I am long past that. | |

| formula for figuring out if the age gap is too big Posted: 7/5/2007 9:26:07 AM | Maybe we should make cougars illegal, then. Hey, maybe we should make a rule that people can't date someone who is more than 2o pounds different in weight?
What hogwash. That's just bad maths.
Edit: if we have an age gap, then why not a weight gap, or a height gap, or a salary gap?
