| Men who wear sunglasses in their profiles Posted: 7/11/2009 1:23:22 PM | Yah.... wearing sunglasses in a pic is rediculous. Something only a complete dillweed would do. I mean really, what are you thinking wearing "shades" in a picture. What are you hiding? Beady eyes? Albino?

| Men who wear sunglasses in their profiles Posted: 7/11/2009 6:49:41 PM | i don't feel like a sunglasses shot should not be the only photo up in a profile. If so then i'm guessing they are hiding something. GOOFY EYES!
Let me tell you what i use a photo for. It is a good judge of how honest you are with yourself and how you view your self. Example I could put up the 2 photos that are my absolute best (and trust me i have only taken 2 good photos in my life) There was a time in a galaxy far away when i had hair. Down to my butt believe that or not. I could post those photos and well that would just be disingenuous. Or i can let you see me for me. Nothing worse than showing up to a date and going whoa nelly who is this person. Let it hang out people good bad and yes the ugly and try to smile. Not the creepy gonna cut you up in a basement smile but a good fill your heart kind of smile. as far as women or men in photos with the other sex. For me that's neither here or there. Fact women do not want a man who is undesirable. IE the word undersirable. If he treats you like a canned ham (nice way of saying piece of meat) when your on the date then well that is the real red flag. screw the parachute and jump. Same goes for men with women. (unless you like being a canned ham and you know who you are)

I'm seriously considering putting a dark sunnies shot on my profile and watch all the complaints roll in.

Could not agree more with OP. These guys who post pics of themselves wearing shades should not be allowed on POF as they are clearly hiding something.
Wrong. I have nothing to hide. My photo has sunglasses because it was sunny outside and that is the best picture I have of me. I am not very photogenic and I took the best I could get when choosing my main photo. If someone wants to weed me out because they think I am hiding something then so be it. Just goes to show you, "Can't judge a book by its cover", and if someone is going to judge me because of something as minor as that then good. That's the type of person I don't need to be around anyway.

| Men who wear sunglasses in their profiles Posted: 8/20/2009 6:37:23 PM | | Men in sunglasses doesn't bother me much unless that's the only picture they have and the sunglasses take up half of their face. What gets to me are the ones that are pictured with all these different women. If they're trying to find a girl on here, how can they expect women to show much interest with pictures like that. It's not impressive at all, it just makes them look insecure and full of themselves. | |

| Men who wear sunglasses in their profiles Posted: 8/20/2009 7:25:20 PM | Hey tootsie-22,
For some of us, a woman in shades, a baseball cap, ponytail & summer wear will definitely generate interest. Though it would be a good idea to keep those great eyes showing in the other photos. (I've also seen hiking shoes, kayak paddles, motorcycle helmets of course, & much more.)

His reply, and I paraphrase, was the he thought I needed professional help. Hey Ottawa_chiclet, don't sweat it, we all can use some professional help from time to time. Just this week I hired a plumber for a rental property. Maybe the guy you mentioned had never heard of Timbuk3.

| Men who wear sunglasses in their profiles Posted: 8/20/2009 9:25:48 PM | OP, I read way too many of the replies, then checked your profile. LMAO. Now all the replies about cleavage shots and being blinded by pale skin make sense. But it seems like something's been missed. Is it just me reading it into the profile, or is the OP looking for a gig as a mistress? I've heard some people use craigslist for that. OP lists interest in symphonies, concerts, travel, and other expensive activities, and specifies interest in the sort of men who could likely afford it:
"I'm looking for a doctor, dentist, lawyer, architect, businessman type. " Look at the main photo; neckline level with nipples. (My mailbox would fit through that neckline.) And the facial expression, too. Imagine the caption, "That's the biggest one I've ever seen!"
OK, now a serious reply. I wear sunglasses almost 100% of daylight outdoor time, and have for decades. They help keep bugs and volleyball court sand out of my eyes. I have an outdoor photo in sun in a canoe. Water's reflective. Bright or medium light gives me a headache unless filtered down. I have light blue eyes, and other risk factors for macular degeneration. UV is the enemy. With luck and care I will not be functionally blind later in life, like my father is. And his father was. It would suck to not be able to drive, to read print less than 1" high, or recognize relatives & close friends by sight. I'm not currently married, and have the paperwork to prove it. Nothing nefarious or manipulative about wearing shades; just being sensible & comfortable.

| Men who wear sunglasses in their profiles Posted: 8/20/2009 9:53:56 PM | | I don't mind those pics... but do like pics that show the eyes too. I understand that it was taken by someone else when they were outside, relaxed and doing something with friends. Pertaining to pics of guys with women , attractive or not, the gals may be daughters, sisters or cousins... so I take no notice or offense. Come on... ask for another pic, if you want one and specify that you want to see his eyes.. is that so hard? | |
