If he has a chauffeur and a fleet of vehicles I could, possibly, maybe, perhaps overlook his being a weenie and not being able to drive. But if he can't/doesn't drive and has no one on his payroll with the specific purpose of drving us around....screw that...I'm OUT!! And I'm DRIVING myself home in my own car and he better not start chasing me on his bicycle either.

maybe people should take the bus with all the concern over the enviroment. lets see the colombia ice fields have a 15yr life span left. the arctic and antarctic polar caps are shrinking at an alarming rate, the oceans are rising, weather patterns are changing, natural disasters are on the increase, oh wait...we live in a consumer driven society, so drive your suv's and lets kill the planet some more...let mother nature have her revenge on us humans raping and pillaging her to death

looks like ill be single forever...I don't drive cuz of a silly mistake, atleast no one got hurt!

Oh let's not forget this one too...

i did drive,lost my license a year ago...people make mistakes..and i will drive again

LMAO @ you now saying you don't drive because you're looking out for the environment! At least take some responsibilty for your actions instead of trying to make others look bad because they have the ability to drive.

I'm a guy that drives my own car. I find it a hassle if a woman doesn't drive. Leaves all the driving on just one person.

hmmm,, soft spot for me.

I drive and prefer to drive but when i'm with a guy i like to let him drive , even if its my car, not because its embarassing but i like the guy to feel comfortable, maybe i'm wrong.

BUT!!

I went out with a guy, had a licence, but no car, claimed he shared a vehicle with his roommate. now in the three months that we dated, I did all the driving, i live out in the country and he in the city, 45mins away, i'd constantly pick him up and what have you,, i never complained, except near the end it really bothered me, here i was doing all the driving , and never once an offer to pay for gas, or or ,, shit anything. If say i was tired from working 3 jobs and didn't feel like driving alll the way,, then i was made to feel guilty cause i didn't want to see him.

The only time he ever drove out to see me was when he finally clued in it was over, somehow he miracleously got a vehicle and then banged on my door for over an hour, and drove to my ex's to harrass him with his sorry story.

well i guess this is the point.

Everything should be 50/50

i don't think its shallow,, every situation is different, that is what has to be looked at

in my comment i did state i didn't mind it, but when they rag on you , because you can't pick them up?? is that shallow? i think not

You know what? I don't mind if a guy doesn't have a car, as long as he's willing to cab it to my house on occasion and offer gas money. I refuse to let someone use me.

DeliciousQuick, I wasn't targeting your post in particuliar. To give you an example: Whould a guy date a girl who doesn't have a job, know how to cook or have a cocKtail dress?
If you read carefully my replies up up up...youll see that i do not have a car..by choice. Does that make me less of a man, or less of "moi" ? no.
judging people on materialistic asset is very superficial. Unless there is special reasons (just as I mentionned in my previous replies)

Shallow, my azz...I live 30 minutes out of town and the dude I was seeing had no car and literally whined because I refused to drive there every couple of days to see him, nevermind that I was working 12 hour days and had little free time. Then as soon as I get there, I have to chauffeur him around to do errands and buy groceries that he can't carry on his bicycle...hell...I was starting feel just a tad used. Shallow...give me a break.

This thread is most...laughable!!!...what does a car have to do with a relationship.?..Ladies, do you judge the man or the car..?....What he drives or doesn't drive shouldn't impact your feelings...remember your heartfelt feelings.
I drive for a living..comapny truck and all...been driving since my teen years...had cars and now I don't have one...it doesn't mean I am less of person inside...So ladies, look beyond the wheels...because love is not a one way street, lets stop running each down in both directions.
p.s. same goes for the guys that think, women without cars aren't pulling thier weight....puit the brakes on those thoughts.

I think there is a difference between having a license and not driving for certain reasons (Eg. you live in the big city and no need for a car) and not even having a license by choice. Some people cannot have a license due to medical reasons.

But personally I would not date a woman who is capable of driving but doesn't. I'm not becoming her taxi driver.

Most of the replies coming from womens are linked to a guy who have used/abused them. Therefore all other men (without cars) are paying for this?
I go where ever i want without owning a car, I metro,I taxi, I rent. I have my reasons not having a car (big city)
And I never ask anyone for anything, ever!

I chatted with a GOOD looking guy on here and had my hopes up until he said he had NO car...He did have a car he said his wife cleaned out their home...then he took her back and she took the car! DUGH !!!!
I think there was a little more to his story than that!

I once dated a guy with no car a long time ago and it was no fun at all...besides this guy lives over an hour away. How in the world is he expecting to go out on a date? And he has his child every single Sat. night! BOY has his ex set him up to not have anyone to date! I've never been without a car and can't imagine not having one!

@ commonsens

Then why are you getting so defensive? If you pull your own weight, you shouldn't have a problem.

Sounded defensive?? ah!
Yes I do pull my own weight since am a small kid...and I never missed an activity because of distance.

It make me very sad to see that i may pass a great woman/relation...simply because she wants a car. Things you own..end up owning you back in the end...and i refuse to be judged/weighted by something material...and useless in my case.

commensns,,, yes sorry i didn't mean to come off as an attack or in defence of myself, although..lol

no , i personally have no problems with a guy not having a car, that has nothing to do with who he is. but, when they become dependent on you and never offer assistance,, then there is a different story. Again your right Commensnse, but we do offer our two cents worth from past experiances, other wise what could we offer? just assumptions. I don't think anything you said was wrong and dont' think you should be bashed for it either. Geez me and my girlfriends always split the gas,, so why can't the guy? or the gal in rolls reversed?

I lived in Waterloo (ontario) before. No metro, no cabs to speak of, far from anything. There i needed a car and bought the best car of the year with all the extras: because i needed it....and yes..I ended up "chauffering" a lot of people. but when i founded out that one was abusing...i didnt blame it on all the "carless" people..I simply told THAT person to take a hicke (lol).
Now back in Montreal, i do not need one...so I don't.

For the record too: I do cook, sew, clean, repair and fix anything...but i do not own a cocKtail dress LMAO!
