| What professions are a turn off? Posted: 2/7/2009 3:12:59 PM | So were you hooked on Six Feet Under? :) (actually, when I think of funeral directors I think of someone who is compassionate, caring, and wants to make sure in grieving times that people are at peace with their last contact (physical anyways) of a loved one.
I think it takes a special kind of person to do that job; not only would I not be biased against someone who does it, I'd probably be biased in their favor... it can't be an easy one.

| What professions are a turn off? Posted: 2/7/2009 6:11:37 PM | I loved Six Feet Under!!! The above portion you wrote is the Funeral Director part. Which is generally accepted. When the Embalming aspect is introduced, people get squeemish.
I Used to write in my profile that i am a Funeral Director but i got rid of that 2 weeks into joining this site because i would get random e-mails with woman calling me a Necropheliac and that i must be the life of the party to hang out with etc etc.
People are quick to judge so i just put Manager in my Job description and let them know after a connection is established.

Ok, consistently read on here police officers. What gives with them? Just because they wouldn't let you off of a ticket when they knew that's why you asked them out
I don't think it's that, we're talking about relationships here and I can't speak for all women, but I know that cops are unfortunately "automatic cheaters". Too many cheated and now it's just assumed that if he is a cop, he can't be trusted in a relationship.
It's sad though, because most cops are HOT!

Did you do both? People assume because you work with dead people you therefore by nature must sleep with them? Wow... that's pretty bizarre... (though the life of the party joke at least is kinda funny, though I'm sure you've heard it hundreds of times by now).
I can't say I blame you for introducing it after now. Too bad if you get dropped after someone learns of it based on assumptions or superstitions; but if someone's that biased, you probably don't want to know them anyways, right?
Again though, even with the embalming, taking that much time and care to make sure a loved one looks their absolute best for their families and friends with hypercritical, grieving people, again, takes a special kind of person to do that job besides being there for the loved ones. Hold your head up high. :)

| What professions are a turn off? Posted: 2/7/2009 8:20:14 PM | | Yes i do both. That is a good point about probably not wanting them anyways if they can't accept my career choice......But, i remember 300 posts ago about how general labourers are severely unappealing......that makes up a HUGE portion of the male population!!! With an attitude like that, she is going to be fishing in a dry lake bed!!! | |

Then again what's the difference?

Hey. Someone has to do it, ya know? That wouldn't turn me off, unless you were brining your "work" home with you :)
|
| What professions are a turn off? Posted: 2/8/2009 4:46:19 PM | | I also must say that I don't think I'd ever want to be with someone that cleans out septic tanks for a living. I wouldn't ever look forward to the stench of human feces coming home for dinner. Then again, it takes all types to make the world go round. | |

| What professions are a turn off? Posted: 2/8/2009 6:02:34 PM | COPS. I have a thing for cops. Yet will never date one again. I was married to a yummy cop, and dated a few yummy ones as well (with the excption of the one i married though, they seemed a bit cuckoo and control-freakish though). The 3 i dated were borderline stalker-ish.
BTW funeral directing is actually quite lucrative.

truck drivers
... OH, well, 17 pages, and I think only one said that... As for me, someone who deals with dead bodies...I don't know..It just a turn off. I know someone got to do that too, and do dirty jobs, so I don't mean to disrespect those who work with dead bodies, or clean outside toilets, or something like that. Suprisingly, I see many doctors, and nurses..Why, I wonder?

yeah, I've heard of a few who used their access to CPIC and License registration data to track an ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend(s) , and harass them; in a few cases vandalize their cars or residences, etc. :(

yeah, everyone who loves to eat meat should probably take a tour through a slaughterhouse as I have done..if you really believe treatment is so 'humane'.?
the animals know they are being lead to slaughter.. they all start moaning , shrieking , and wriggling to get free, going nuts, as they are chained up, they know that 5 or 6 places ahead of them the bolt to the head is being administered.
