| What professions are a turn off?
Posted: 2/9/2009 4:50:16 PM | Some cops and some guys in the military, seem to have control freak issues. The domestic violence rate is pretty horrific in those two professions alone. I think sometimes, some men, bring the violence from their jobs home with them. (notice I said some, NOT all)
I know it's stereotyping to a certain degree, but I tend to be wary of guys who are cops or in the military (or were in the military). Yes, I know, there are good cops and good guys in the military. I realize that. But those are just professions that I tend to run away from when it comes to dating. | |

If you want to turn people off quickly in a profession...tell them you work in the mental health field. First time you say therapist...they automatically think you are analyzing them. That's not always true. I'm sure a mechanic don't listen to every car that goes by and a gynocologist don't look at every woman that walks by and think "wonder if she's had her exam"....therefore therapists don't automatically analyze everyone that speaks to them. But the profession is a turn off for many. | |

I am transitioning from that to the medical field. What got me to do a big about face was the customers. Some of them know that they can get away with murder and they intentionally look for trouble or just natural born pains in the ass. I always had it in the back of my mind that it wasn't about me so whatever to the people who I witnessed drinking juice without paying for it and throwing the empties to the side, to those whom I did witness telling their kids that it was okay to do the same. No matter what the profession, there is always going to be somebody there to look down at you and think they are too good to date you and ask why women even bother messaging men that are out of their 'reach'. To those people, I say to get a life because you don't even know that maybe one day you are going to be coming to me for a job! | |

I find lawyers to be annoying sometimes, but have dated one that ws great.
Doctors - never have enough time to spend with you, so i don't often go for them, unless they have their own private practice.

It fits my personality, as I am outgoing, love to socialize with the public, and my company does tons of community service that I get to be involved with! If you rule out salespeople, then you are ruling out everyone from Donald Trump to the stock broker to the girl who folds clothes at Walmart......all are salespeople. Get a clue people, salespeople are a vital and necessary part of society, and lose the stereotype that you obviously have in your heads that we are pushy or evil or something! | |

1) With the hooker - she tells you up front you will get screwed. And you are okay with that.
2)A hooker saying "I am here to help you" isn't quite so scary

4)One is going to attempt to screw you out of all your money. The other is a set price negotiated up front.
5)I have yet to read a hooker asking for a 'bail-out' plan
