| Favourite Saturday Night Live Skit, Or Comedian? Posted: 3/23/2006 8:52:00 AM | I'm not sure how old this forum is, I have a hard time making out replys and such, but SNL is my favorite show of all time. I would've married Chris Farley and loved him like he had never been loved before. I love when he pats the drummer boy on his belly with the other guys and keeps messing up, and I too one day hope to live in a van down by the river. So what if he had a "sweating problem", or sometimes he didn't "wash the area between his leg and his thigh". And when he did Mayor Rudy's son....priceless. How sad.... David Spades career will never be the same, so I wonder what is in his wallet.
Ofcourse I have to give a HOLLA to Dana Carvey who cemented my love for SNL by playing Head Wound Harry. Sweet.....

Posted: 3/23/2006 5:56:09 PM | I have two favorites....one was when Jim Carrey was selling some weight-loss drug that included bathtub crystal meth and the tag line was "Ride the snake." The other was one of the fake commercials...the "Mercury Mistress." They yanked that one after it aired the first time. I'll never forget that pyramid of wine glasses falling all over the place!

He plays a sleazy European guy, who acts sophisticated, but reveals himself as a creep in each iteration of the skit. The way they do the skit is really creative, using one camera from the woman's viewpoint.
In one episode, he has a periscope in his coat closet to spy on his upstairs neighbor, in another, he has a two way mirror in his bathroom.

Another favorite was a skit with Mike Meyers and Nicole Kidman. They were playing two kids at the playground. Mike M.'s character is wearing a helmet and is tied up to the monkey bars. Sitting on the ground talking, he tells her he can't have chocolate when she offers him some because he's a "hyper hypo", and he ends up taking it and it shows him running down the street, his face covered in chocolate, still strapped to the monkey bars, dragging them behind him. I laughed so hard, I may have peed a little...
Christopher Walken, "The Continental", damn, that man is funny!

Oh my God! "Massive Head Wound Harry"!!! The part where he's laying on the couch and the dog comes over and starts licking his head wound and actually starts pulling pieces off...Dana Carvey is hanging onto the "head wound" to keep it on his head, and says "he probably smells my dog", is so funny!

The "Schwetty Balls" one is pretty great, too.

Just as they were about to drop a live lobster into boiling water, someone came on stage and stopped the skit. From then on throughout the show, they did a telephone call in vote to save or boil Larry the Lobster with every player pleading one side or the other. At the end of the show .... Larry lived lol

| Favourite Saturday Night Live Skit, Or Comedian? Posted: 1/28/2009 10:24:33 PM | I still love SNL. Been watching it for years. Even when others claim it's "not funny" anymore, even if an entire show sucks, I will still watch, because there will always be at least one skit that's a gem. And the past several seasons, it's been doing pretty well.
I love Andy Samberg. His music video spoof skits are hilarious. He even has his own MySpace page. LOL. I was bummed that Chris Parnell got fired because the rap skits he did with Andy were a riot. I hope Andy sticks around for awhile.
It is nice to see some female talent being showcased more on SNL over the past few years. Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Mya Rudolph, etc.
The various cast members during the Phil Hartman years, were some of the best. Victoria Jackson, Nora Dunn, Jan Hooks, Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, and later, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Norm McDonald, Chris Farley, Chris Rock, etc.
I still like all the original cast from the 70's but I grew up in the 80's and early 90's so I guess those are the decades that are still my favorites.
I love the Will Farrell years too. Jeeze, I guess I like all of them. Hard to narrow it down. I've always been a big SNL fan and I always will be.
My only complaint is that black cast members are still lacking on SNL over the years. SNL only seems to hire one African American at time, most of the time. But I guess that's why the show In Living Color was so popular. It kind of helped fill in SNL's slack in that area. It's a shame In Living Color isn't still on. That was a darn good show.
