Posted: 1/31/2005 10:19:12 PM | There was a column in the local newspaper here entitled the 'dork side'. It consisted mainly of stories of hunting and fishing trips involving some wondefully gullible people who were devoted to keeping the family fridge stocked with beer and fresh fish. This was a hillarious episode in the week, to read of these adventures. Since I personally knew many of the actors invovled in these dork stories, I thought it interesting to note that the title means different things. Obviously they have to be liked for what they do or don't do. It was way better than the trailer park boys because it was believeable. When a person is religiously devoted to the pursuit of fish and game to the exclusion of other reasonable pastimes, like huckleberry picking and pie making, then I think the moniker was appropriate.
Some capable dorks in Nelson have a beer out called 'face plant' and that amazes me. The beer is named after those skiers who do face plants in the snow, or boarders. I did a face plant the first time I snow boarded. This was an oowee, and I regretted immediately not having taken lessons. After I slammed my shoulder on the ice at Ptargmigan, the next week I caught a pole descending an avalanche chute, and re-wrenched my shoulder. Another owwee which really smarted. Sorry for that digression....Since then I have elected not to put my pole straps around my wrists. And I began skiing when I was 5 1/2 years old, and should know better.
Is that what the word means?

I don't know about where you live, but around here, women would persue Chester for his social status. Social status can add so much to the attraction for women.

I've been a dork/nerd/geek for over... oh, he** all my life. painful growing up, always half a bubble off so to speak. I couldn't coordinate an outfit to save my soul. I look like a ruptured mongoose when I dance, had to add stuff to the bottom of coke bottles for my glasses, terminal case of "bad hair", socially liberal, politically conservative, enigmatic, worked in the IT field behind the scenes for over 25 years.
There is hope! There is Promise! People pay me for my opinions regardless if they agree with them or not, My sig. other is a dream come true. I just love it when she looks in my closet and says "honey, you need my help".

Posted: 2/11/2005 4:29:19 PM | no way honeyko, they are sooo sweet and so mild mannered, my male friend is 100% dork, and he is sooo kind and gentle to anyone he meets, your thinking of the pyschos, they are the stalkers, heck a dork wouldnt know how to stalk, he'd end up yelling out "hi, do you want to go and do something" lol anyways just my opinion,
