parskie, why not help the men too? or is it a way of making you seem "better" to the fairer sex. I always get a laugh when someone offers help to only one gender. We are all here for the same reason(mostly) and could all use the help.

I've had my profile reviewed many times and love the help, the responses range across the board and it really helps to fine-tune it.

So, if you still only for the ladies, that's cool, but if you want to help us all, even better.

I'm not afraid, hit me.

Holy smokes! I turn my back for 12 hours and look at the backlog I have now..

Alright, one at a time here.

Cheeky: You certainly live up to your nickname, and that must be said. I will not comment on my agenda.. I just like being asked for an opinion and I kind of like writing these things. Regarding your specific questions, I can't comment on other guys' motives for being on this site. It's really up to each individual to be upfront and honest about what they want and for the other party to assess any potential matches. What more can I say? :-)

Re. photos, are you asking me to come find you to take some, or to recommend a photographer? We boys aren't always the brightest lot.

Finally, about the net.... you just toss it on out there any old time. You never know who or what will come along! But beware of sharks.

Cheerio..

Sethwexter: Was that a request for a review or just tossing your name in here to try to meet people? I'm at a loss.

However, since you dropped by, I gave you a look. This profile needs some serious tuning. Check back at some of the other reviews I've written. You need to talk about yourself a bit, and the kind of girl you're looking for. We all want to meet new people - that's not unique to you.

I would also recommend that you rethink your first date idea. Your candor is great, but you aren't going to find a whole lot of girls who want to end the first date in your room.. nothing personal there. It's just a general truth. But they'll likely read a lot into the "hanging out" part, whether you intend that or not.

Give it another go and see what happens.. my opinions are always free if you want to come back and ask for a second look.

Cheers.

sensisativa: You're right, the thread was a bit discriminatory. I would expect better of my students, so yes, I've given you a look.

Overall, not a badly written profile. You come off as a decent guy with a lot to be liked. Mind you, that can be a blessing and a curse.. some of the best-written profiles (and the guys with the best intentions) raise suspicion among women because they seem too good to be true. Hard to know - it must be a girl thing.

Stripping it down to the base mechanics, I would fine-tune your punctuation (sorry, it's my job). I don't want to correct it line by line, but some women find good writing attractive; like proof of a well-educated person.

Your photos seem well-chosen, for the most part. As I've advised others, I would personally not use the tatoo photo, but in the end it's your call.

Hope all this helps, and good luck.

For all others who I haven't gotten to yet - almost time for me to get to work. More responses are coming later this morning.

runamuk: It's not bad, though I would punch up the "about me" section. It could be expanded with a little more about yourself. As a guy (this must be said, sorry!), I would suggest you take out the part about being real. After all, we're all real people. If you want your potential matches to be genuine about who they really are and want, that would be somewhat more clear. Some of us poor guys just don't get the "be real" thing.

Re. wanting more children.. you SHOULD put up an opinion here. Either you do or you don't, but 'prefer not to say' doesn't tell us much.

Beyond that, quite well done and I would think you should be getting some good responses. Best of luck!

browneyed: You were next on my list. Just one of those days at work.

Your profile doesn't go with my normally-suggested 2 paragraph format, but it works nonetheless. We can't all be conformists, after all. You do lay out in no uncertain terms who you are, just as a well-written profile should. I would still propose that you say a thing or two about your ideal potential match, but up to you. This format certainly does work.

Double check carefully for spelling, spacing and punctuation as always.. somebody, someday is going to kick my butt for picking on that, but I think it's important.

No photo? You should really try for one. The graphics are cute but don't really tell us what we want to know.

Best of luck, in any case.

peanutink: Let YOU have the details?? I was going to ASK you for the details! Good so far, but it could certainly be expanded. I'm not going to look back now, but I think a day or two ago I told someone to think classified ad rather than essay. You've taken it to the opposite extreme! Of course, it depends on how much you want us all to know about you, but some more details would certainly not hurt.

A photo would certainly help you here. By your description, you sound cute.. nothing to be lost by letting us see what you look like. You may even find it gets you more noticed... though I wouldn't know how you've been doing so far!

Hope this helps.. I'll be glad to give you another look at a later time if you wish. Let me know.

prcdntatted: Certainly, I can do that. It's not bad, although I will propose a few changes that will keep readers going all the way through to the end - as I'm assuming you want them to.

Your first section gets a bit wordy at times, and it's my suggestion that you trim it down some. In a few places, you state something about yourself and follow it up with something along the lines of 'if you don't like it, too bad'.. :) I personally would not do that. Stick to telling us what you want to know about you, and if your description doesn't appeal to a reader, they'll probably go fly a kite without being told to.

Other than that, my only suggestion is to go back over your writing style.. I know, I know, if I don't like it too bad for me! But you switch between good spelling and not-so-great, or capitalizing and not bothering.. it has the effect of breaking up the flow of what you're tryying to say. Someone like me who is easily distracted gets lost before hitting the end.

Nice pix... some more that show us that smile would be nice, mind you.. :-)

Have fun out there and good luck.

kerri: That is a quite well done profile! I hope you've been getting at least SOME attention - the positive kind, of course.

I don't really have a lot to say in terms of improvements, because I don't see much that I would change if it were up to me. Go through your sentences and be sure you double-space after each period, but really, your writing is pretty good.

One thing I would delete is the quote at the end. It's far overused (my humble opinion of course), and doesn't really tell us anything about you other than the fact that you also like it. :)

I hope that's helped somewhat - good luck to you!

Hey all.. this has kept me quite busy, and I'm enjoying it! Keep the requests coming in.

Just thought you should know though, tomorrow morning I'm off on a long-awaited vacation and will be away from POF for about a week. I will certainly answer any and all requests when I return (though it may take time).. just please don't give up on me if I don't repond to you right away. I will be back.
