Posted: 9/9/2009 4:48:27 AM | ok...so homemade is usually better... although I've had a few that were dry or mushy orthe worst-clumpy....shiver but somewhere we all have our hidden comfort foods and some of them stem from a part of childhood or a particular time when life wasn't so great... and someone made us a meal that made it all a little better... it probably had nothing to do with the meal, but that is what we associate the memory with That's why, hidden at the back of my cupboard is one box of regular KD
sautee up one onion... see using the word sautee adds class:) add bround beef, season with pepper and steak spice mix into prepared KD
mmmm mmmm mmmm... don't tell, but sometimes I even add a little heinz ketchup to top it off
my version of cheeseburger mac... works for me about once a year

At this stage of my life, just coming home and finding a man cooking for me means he's gonna get laid. LOL. My dad raised me and I was sometimes a picky eater. Go figure a picky 13 year old girl. Well he used to sautee onions, celery and carrot with mushrooms until they were soft. Cook the mac and cheese about halfway and prepare it with cooked bacon and onion mixture. He may have added some garlic too, not sure. He put in in a baking dish and added shredded cheddar and something for a cracker crumb topping. It was so good. I haven't thought of this in years. I should try some of this soon:
