I've been coloring my hair since I started going grey twenty years ago. And I wear makeup. Is that lying? Or is just trying to make the best of what Nature (the cruel b1tch) gave me?

That's your choice. But I'm not going gray, and I'm choosing to keep my natural color.

Would you tell someone with red hair to change it to brown or blond because more women might like that?

I guess if they *asked* me what they could do to better attract men, I would, yeah. and I'd tell them to avoid frumpy clothes that made them look older. Because they asked me, you know.

OK, fair enough. When do they switch back to their normal hair color? Do they wait until they're engaged? By then, it probably wouldn't make a difference anyway. So why should it make a difference in the first place?

BTW, besides the hat, (and maybe the sweater) what's "frumpy" about my clothes? (I'm not being sarcastic, I'd really like to know what you're talking about.)

Okay bro, I'll say it better. I understand that you are losing your hair. It happens to the best of us. But there are different ways to approach that reality. The comb over is simply NOT THE WAY TO GO. Hiding it with your hat IS NOT THE WAY TO GO. mixed in with the sunglasses and the lite goatee makes you look way too old.
Just cut it down in a close fashion. Balding is something that happens to a man. Bald is a choice that a man makes for himself. I worked with a guy that was obviously balding at a very young age and he simply shaved it bald and ROCKED IT! He made it his and women loved the confidence!
The other poster is right. Go and get a fashion make over from a few trusted friends. It will change your look tremendously. In your case sir, looks are defining you. You look older and you are wearing old man clothes, you are showing old man interests, even your tag line is something that an older gent would put. It will not attract to many younger women.
People dn't like to say it but how you look on the outside, does affect how you feel on the inside.
You are not a bad looking guy actually. But you do need to face the options that you have versus the iptions that you used to have. The options that you used to have was wearing a white goatee. That is a bad option for you bro. The comb over is a bad option for you bro.
try not to come across as so old in your profile.

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting a haircut today, so maybe I'll try to get a new pic. I didn't realize that it looked like I was wearing a comb-over. But, since you mentioned it, I see what you're saying.

A lot of guys around here are shaving their heads. But, on me, that would just be scary.

Seriously? Do you see other men your age wearing what you wear? Do you see men your grandfathers age wearing what you wear? That is what is frumpy. Besides, if half of what you are wearing is frumpy then why act like you don't know? What are your cool socks erasing the frumpy image?? Pick up a few mens magazines. GQ, Details, Mens health. They are the stuff that regular guys can wear and look great!

Take a look at my profile, but look at the other guys in my area at the top. I don't like to wear just t-shirts or sweatshirts, and wearing 2 t-shirts at the same time seems silly to me. I don't think I'd mind wearing fleece, but don't have any to wear. (According to other posters in this thread, I shouldn't wear bulky clothes, anyway.) Other than that, they're wearing button-up shirts, like me.

Not really, but I don't pay close attention. My grandfather wears lots of flannel.

Sir, comparing what you wear to the absolute silliest stuff does not make your style any less frumpy. Yes wearing two t-shirts is silly. But it does not then make your personal style less frumpy. you have been compared repeatedly to the old guy frm Jusassic Park. Not just in looks but in attire. Defend it all you want I guess. You gotta live with it not me. But pretty much everyone has said the same thing. You trying to compare yourself with a guy that wears two t-shirts does not make your fashion mistakes alright. Your just two guys making fashion mistakes.
As I said, pick up a few issues of Details, Esquire and Mens Health for good fashion directions for your age group. The guys up above your profile are not there for fashion rolemodelling.

I think I did this. I now only have one pic (and it isn't my primary pic) with a hat. The only other picture that I think might be questionable is the one where I'm wearing a sweater. Is it really that bad?

I didn't buy any magazines. But, I did look through an issue of GQ while waiting to get the haircut. I just saw a lot of guys wearing ties. (to overgeneralize) I also did a Google image search for the other magazines mentioned. The only thing I noticed was that grays and darker colors were common.

Now, I think the only thing left to change is my tag line. I haven't had any good ideas about that, though.

I was tired with my last message and un-intentionally band wagoning so i apologise to you about that.

I will be nice and give constructive advice for a change to break my routine, its just general advice so some you may already do and some maybe not.

You sound and look like a nice guy, just be yourself mate and the nice guy as you sound like when messaging ladies that you are interested in and i'm sure it will work out for you.

When looking at a ladies profile check to see if you think you will get on with one another before messaging and send a nice first message and see what happens.

Also if it doesn't work out with one girl then don't worry so much it is all experience whether good or bad.

Just be casual and not too needy as desperation shows. When you have finished replying to your profile review, spam the forums a lot so people can not see your forum messages asking for a profile review at the bottom of your profile.

-----------

Some of my advice may be rubbish, some maybe good but thats the beauty of the reader being able to pick and choose the best advice for them

But ya, good luck amigo.
