| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 1/19/2008 7:26:20 AM | I prefer Megadeth more. They never cut their hair or changed their sound or sat in a therapy room to discuss feelings. Jeez. Megadeth just plays loud heavy metal and have done so from day 1.
Mettalica's last hurrah was the Black Album. Mettalica is a lot like Black Sabbath in that their earliest works will always remain their best and most everything else that followed was not so good.
I'll never forget being at a party at a friend of mine's house and he popped in the "Master Of Puppets" cassette and I heard "Sanitarium." Whew! I went out the next day and got a copy for myself!

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 1/20/2008 11:38:48 AM | it was great to watch
mind you if people went to campchaos and watched the flash cartoons spoofing metallica they would have seen the same content . . . but even funnier . . .lol
not to knock metallica, they're one of my favourite bands. . . but lars should shut the hell up and play the drums. preferably with a shirt on, I've seen metallica live and lars has MOOBS *shudder*

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 1/20/2008 3:38:01 PM | truthfully, i didnt think they came out of it that well.
the psycologist pissed me off aswell because it was like he wanted to be part of the band.

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 2/21/2008 11:35:36 AM | Man, I've seen the documentary and it sucks. Totally boring, it completely shows how Metallica were a bunch of rip offs, stealing the name Metallica off a comic and taking Dave Mustaine's material without his permission.
By the way, who from back in the day still listens to this crappy Country/Metal band? I lost interest in them after the black album.

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 2/21/2008 9:25:23 PM | | its just sad...up untill the black album i was a huge fan but from the black album on i liked them less and less and that movie pretty much sealed the deal for me there whinney rich ****es now | |

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 3/25/2008 9:57:40 AM | I really enjoyed it, been a big fan for a long, long time...
however the self indulgence of lars and james did get on my tits a bit, especially Hetfield... paints a stark picture of how a once raw and "for the music" metal band becomes tainted by commercialism if you've seen how hard they worked in the year and a half doc... I mean come on... " I only work in the studio until 4 and then no one can listen to the music if I'm not there!"... whining little ****. How many hard working musicians would kill to be where they are now, the hard done by act and teeny tantrums is a litle hard to take after an hour or so... and ok, he's a recovering alcoholic, but there's millions of them and few have the career, love, adulation, family and millions he has to help him through it. Nuff said...

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 3/25/2008 10:38:43 AM | worst thing ever. i failed to come close to watchign all of it. All they did was complain and piss and moan about a bunch of dumb shit. then they needed someone to mediate thier communications/relationship.
those guys are a bunch of diva's. they are dead to me, and i want the 45 minutes back i wasted watching this crap.
BTW, thats all code speak for "I didnt like it".

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 3/26/2008 9:26:20 AM | I do not, nor will I ever support Metallica's Music. Not after the spill over Napster. Something I will never forget. I never did care for their music. They wanted to be too much like Alice Cooper and did not really have their own style. | |
|
| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 3/26/2008 12:58:19 PM | It made them look more human but in turn also made them look like little ****es. They aren't into the music anymore, haven't and probably never will be again. It shows. They should just retire and come back 15 years from now and do a reunion.
Oh and I'm probably one of the few to say that the whole lars/napster thing didn't affect me. They killed themselves (musically) years ago, napster showed the world what ****es they really were and the doc sealed the deal. They did kick ass up to the black album though....

The scenes they chose to remove [We'll use the Dave Mustaine making Lars run out of the room crying for example] made them look like idiots, everything they left in had them keep some kind if integrity.
as a long time metallica fan AND lars hater (he needs to shut the hell up and play the drums. . . .) I wished that the scene spoken in the quote was left in, might have brought lars back down to somewhere reasonably close to earth( his ego is too inflated to allow interaction with mortal men)

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 5/23/2009 10:29:40 PM | The documentary was actually a pretty interesting inside look at the band. But then again, I enjoy most documentaries actually showing the band in the studio.
I don't know about you guys, but I think Death Magnetic has been the closest Metallica has gotten to its thrash roots in a long time. The album is really solid and in general reminds me quite a bit of And Justice For All. I saw them live this past December, and they sure as hell don't look like a band on its way to retirement. Thank God they didn't play any St. Anger tracks during that entire tour, though.

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 6/29/2009 12:45:01 PM | | Indeed this documentary was good for the revelation that some bands are just egostistical whiny-asses and downright spoiled.C'mon now,$40k a month( I think it was?) for a damn therapist that Elektra paid?Assinine! | |

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 6/30/2009 9:22:26 AM | | yeah i can still remember when metallic was a metal band..i didnt really need a doc to remind how much they have..well..sold out... however the doc was very revealing to me. i really do have allot respect for the band even though i wont buy the new stuff.it takes allot of talent most of us wish we had to adapt and continue to grow in a field where your just a fad and age is your biggest enemy | |

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 6/30/2009 4:47:21 PM | | Jerolhay, you should seriously consider listening to Death Magnetic. I can tell you it's definitely a METAL album, not like the hard rock stuff they did when they released Load and Reload. I won't even mention St. Anger. | |

| Metalica's SOME KIND OF MONSTER Documentary... Posted: 7/5/2009 8:47:15 PM | | I agree that Death Magnetic isn't like anything they recently released. I love 'My Apocolypse'. After a few listens to of the album, I really started to enjoy it. | |
