Before i die by Jenny Downham.

terminally ill Tess, a 16 year old's writes a list she wants to complete before she dies.

Class book, very good read, cant rate it highly enough, very comical at points, but drums it in to you how lucky you are.

as it says on the cover, reminds you to be glad your alive. Expect a few tears.

I am currently reading Dan Simmonds Hyperion saga....soon to be followed by god knows I have about 30-40 books that need reading...I keep buying them when I know I have a back-log, like today I bought another book and could have easily bought another 3 that I saw, also doesn't help that I am a member of a bookclub and have one of waterstones stupidly addictive loyalty cards hee hee, up to £5 as of today...only another £95 to go till I can buy the complete Icelandic Sagas.....thats a hell of a lot of reading lol.

Was in waterstones the other day and came across the Celestine prophecy, remembered it being mentioned on here to bought it.

I'm only about 1/4 of the way through it so far but blimey, what an eye-opener eh?

So much i could put here, that seems to be written especially for me and how drastically my life changed toward the end of 20th century.

msg 577 i have read all three of those books. took me years..... too much personal stuff in there that also happened to me. harrowing is a good word to describe it.

Cider With Roadies by Stuart Maconie.

If you grew up with The Smiths,Joy Division,Echo and the Bunnymen, were ever a student or unemployed in the 80's or are just plain Northern then this is the book for you.

Then again none of the above really applies to me,apart from being Northern, and I'm loving it!

I'm just about to start reading the 'Bohemians'-The Glamourous Outcasts, by Elizabeth Wilson.

Though now that I'm back on here it will take months to finish it.

i really need to read that book already.

currently reading 2, at the same time, one in each hand. not really. i alternate on an almost nightly basis, short attention span and such, anyway;

Dostoyevsky - Crime and Punishment
Balzac - Old Goriot.

both are pretty stellar. but im not too far through either.

I'm curently reading Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich (and other stories). Which I am really enjoying - and recently brought Necronomicon (Best of HP Lovecraft) which I hope to start soon.

Might not seem so exciting as Stephen King et al but I'm reading Tony Benn's diaries. Not only do they tell you just what Benn is like but they give a fascinating view of what was happening in Government at times such as Suez, the miners strike and Iraq.

I've just finished 'The Book Thief' by Marcus Zusak, and have started 'Arthur and George' by Julian Barnes.

Zusak's book was fabulous and, considering its subject matter (death, basically) was not at all sentimental.
