I like skin to skin contact. Cuddling up at night was peaceful, a kiss on the forehead, nose to nose kissing. With no one there now, I have a body pillow for my back and a ticking alarm clock on my night stand. Yeah, I also have an electric blanket for cool nights on low. | |

Posted: 10/14/2006 9:39:13 PM | There have been very few women in my life that I could sleep with all cuddled up. I've always been a light sleeper and usually need to roll over to my side of the bed. That being said, there have been one or two that for some reason I was able to get a good nights sleep with while our arms were around each other. Odd, no real explanation for it.

In the past, the usual answer would be 'no', I really have to move apart just a little bit--but my last love and I would be so exhausted we would fall asleep together and sleep for quite a while--it felt great to have that kind of closeness and mutual exhaustion.
Once she was on top of me and we fell asleep like that and must have slept like that for 1-2 hours. That kind of comfort and closeness--and exhaustion--felt great.

Posted: 10/16/2006 6:15:21 PM | It took awhile to get used to, but I can sleep just fine while cuddling.
Some tips:
-Get into a comfortable position where you won't have to move around much.
-Keep cool! The heat from the other person was a big part of what kept me from sleeping. I sleep with my back uncovered when I'm cuddling to my front, and vice versa.
-You don't have to cuddle the ENTIRE night, and you don't have to be in the same position the whole night either. Usually we'll just fall asleep while cuddling, allow ourselves to roll away, move back into each other at some point in the night, then roll away again at some point... and so on.
-This doesn't bother me, but some people don't like the feeling of skin sticking together (which happens when you get too warm and start to sweat). It might help to sleep with some kind of clothes on... but for the record, I'm in favor of nakedness =] | |

***Carol27, you're not alone. I'm the same way. Wish I could sleep while cuddling, but I'm a bad sleeper anyway, and the slightest movement by the other person would jerk me awake and I'd be unable to go back to sleep for a very long time.

drifting off whilst touching him - my hand on his arm or foot on leg or something is fine, but even that, once i start to really fall asleep i tend to just turn over to the other side
if he wants to spoon with me while i'm sleeping that's okay, but it's annoying if he's not totally *relaxed* if i'm trying to sleep while he's curled up behind me

I love to snuggle, cuddle. Lets snuggle while watching a movie? I am in! But once I am trying to fall asleep, I need to be in my 'position' and I cannot sleep properly if someone is touching me.
I will cuddle as soon as we get into bed...but when I actually need to sleep, I scoot away. I get too hot, I keep waking up...then Im cranky from not sleeping. | |

I did a search...came up with a bunch of cuddling threads...but none that fit this....
I feel like it is just me....does anyone else have trouble sleeping if someone is cuddling with you? My boyfriend loves to cuddle...and it feels great...if I am not trying to go to sleep. For some reason I cannot fall asleep if someone touches me at all. Is this strange? Sheesh...I hope I am not the only one.
OP -- I guess I must be one of the lucky few out there that doesn't have this issue. If I'm cuddling, they fall asleep...if I'm being cuddled, I fall asleep. Generally somewhere in the middle of the night, the body heat becomes too much and we roll over separately, but wake to find ourselves right back where we were pretty much (in most cases).
I don't need it to fall asleep, nor do they...but it's sure nice to have when it's available. A good cuddle is better than warm milk.

That was probably one of my favorite parts of the relationship.
There were a few times he instantly fell asleep on my boobs and he would be silly and fluff them like pillows. Love it. | |
