Moral: just say no to spooning fat chicks

If you're not one of those people who just absolutely can't touch, it's all about finding a postion that you're comfortable in and still touch...and...well...the aforementioned title speaks for itself. (no pun intented) My second ltr was much improved, but we won't go there!

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 3:45:06 PM | | I tend to be exactly the same way, and honestly, for many years, thought something was wrong with me because of it. Guys I'd date would get hurt to take it personally if I didn't want to cuddle when I was trying to fall asleep. I love cuddling, but when I'm trying to get to sleep, I kind of need more space. I have been able to fall asleep while cuddling, but eventually, I find myself needing some space during the night. Especially if a guy snores. If a guy snores, I can't get to sleep at all, and then I end up laying down in another room completely while leaving them in the bedroom. | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 4:58:11 PM | Love to cuddle and it doesn't have to be my man. Children, siblings, pet.. anyone that is close to me. Only one issue: I get HOT real quick so if ya wanna cuddle me make sure the AC is blasting and keep the covers to yourself But yes, I can go to sleep, stay asleep and sleep better if I am cuddling.
There are those rare occasions I just can't get comfy and or just want to be left to myself though.

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 5:40:55 PM | If I am tired I can sleep anywhere. We had a birthday party for my sister at my brothers billiards last night. After my responsibilities of cooking the 25lbs of Florida Golden Crabs and the large vat of soup I went for the couch and passed right out in the middle of about 50 people...luckily my brother came and threw a blanket my way...the next thing I knew it was some time in the am and he was dragging me off to one of his friends (flip-flopless) with my brother and two of his friends. As we got to his business partners house...the guy had a girl with him (so many different ones throughout the years) and I guess other people were there...I headed straight for the couch and woke up the next morning trying to get a ride back to the billiards (from what these girls tell me...my brother would sleep late into the afternoon and have to be woken for work sometimes and when I became cognizant I wanted to go some place comfortable to shower and get fed) to get to my car...and have slept pretty much all day during the Thanksgiving feast at my parents house. Everyone seems dressed, clean, and presentable. I haven't showered and still in another brother's bed at the parents house. And, it seems quite alarming and strange for guests that this woman (exhausted and being anti-social) from nowhere appears downstairs and in obvious disarray (my hair has not been brushed either and I am sure I have a huge nest in the back of my head)...I eventually put a hat on but I definitely look skanky (or homeless). I have been eating, lounging around, and sleeping all day. It's nice to do this. So, for me I can sleep anywhere...if the temperature is right I have no problem passing out in my mans arms. However, I feel bad for some guys and have been noticing that their arm would lose circulation in efforts for them to try to comfort me. My ex boyfriend was very accommodating with me. In one evening I could have my feet next to his head, across his stomach, or my head on his chest, or on his stomach... If I wanted him to hold me I would just grab his arm and place it over me. Men have a tendency to like lower room temperatures than I prefer and often to stay warm cuddling is a necessity for my comfort. He slept fine with me. At least I never heard him complain in the eight years. I love to have the comfort and closeness of a man in my bedroom. I think that absence of that is the hardest part of being single. However, there would be nights where I would go outside and sleep on the couch and watch tv. I don't ever remember our sleep situation ever being an issue. | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 6:47:18 PM | | So nice to fall asleep this way. Later when you take your own side I still like to be in contact with him somehow - "bum to bum" as mentioned above is okay. Then in the morning if I wake up first it's nice to press up against him. I can adapt to sharing my space pretty well. | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 7:00:17 PM | | I can fall asleep cuddling if I'm laying on my back and she's cuddled up to me with my arm around her, but I can't lay on my side and fall asleep cuddling that way (unless it's the bum to bum). | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 7:02:54 PM | | Sure, when the room is cool/cold but if its too warm or no A/C I have to move out of the cuddle yet still touch hand to hand or bum to bum or foot to foot. Waking up to a cuddle is just as wonderful. | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 7:07:03 PM | | I've only been able to do it with one person. We slept in each other arms face to face for the entire night and did not move an inch. | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/27/2008 11:56:23 PM | You are normal I think, some people I've dated like to cuddle when they fall asleep and some don't.
I need a bit of space to fall asleep. It's when I'm asleep you have to watch out for me because I'm like a heat seeking sleep cuddler. I'll eventually move closer and closer in my sleep ....then I'm cuddling. It's actually been kind of funny waking up some mornings with my boyfriend who couldn't sleep if cuddling. He'd almost be falling off the bed and I'd have this huge space on my side.
I would have stopped if I was conscious when I was doing it. He'd try to wake me up but I was in such a deep sleep that I just didn't get it.

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/28/2008 4:27:38 AM | it honestly depends , for the longest time i couldnt sleep with someone next to me the best sleep i get is when i have the whole bed to myself
now that im married, the best sleep i get is when my honey is next to me
however when it comes to cuddling i have to be the one cuddling and holding HIM
sure i like to be cuddled and held but only for like 15 minutes , then i will move into a much more comfy position and snooze off

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/28/2008 6:57:28 AM | | Nope, cuddling is just too hot and crowded for sleeping ... especially if face to face. Touching backs/butts is "close" enough. | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/28/2008 7:07:12 AM | I can't sleep face to face. I have this thing about bad breath-I don't like it. And in the morning, to wake up in that position...blech. I don't care how much I love you-I don't want to see/smell that morning face in my face.
I do love to fall asleep in the spoon position where he is tucked in behind me, or he is laying on his back with my face on his hairy chest and an arm across his chubby belly. The nice thing about spooning is being woken up in the morning with him pressing his morning wood into you.mmmm.
That being said, it's rare that I sleep the whole night like that. I end up curling into myself on my side of the bed because I like my space. But I don't mind him pulling me into him for some late morning cuddles and what have you...
With the exception of the morning wood, I just realized this is pretty much the exact description of when my cat sleeps with me lol.

I've only been able to do it with one person. We slept in each other arms face to face for the entire night and did not move an inch
Once, just once, I was able to sleep in a sweet variation of this, which was for her head to use my inner thigh for her pillow, and for me to use hers, so that, when we woke, we were genitals to lips. There was no breathing in of the other's exhalations, and no morning breath problem. It was HOT at the time, and only slightly less so in memory.

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/28/2008 1:21:02 PM | | Unfortunately, my arms tend to go to sleep when I am cuddling someone. In fact, they go to sleep very easily in a lot of other positions. So it starts getting numb and then tingly, which keeps me up. But when it's cold, I gotta have my cuddle time under the covers. Brrrr! Also, I have to sleep on my side or I will snore like a chainsaw. No back sleeping or stomach sleeping. | |

| Can you sleep when you are cuddling? Posted: 11/28/2008 9:45:57 PM | No Carol you aren't the only one. I love to cuddle for "awhile" but when I'm trying to sleep I like to sleep without touching. I have a lifelong history of insomnia and sleep apnea as well. So for me sleep is a blessing, but if I get woke up then I have no chance of going back to sleep. In my last relationship I had a king size bed and a tempurapedic mattress. I loved it, he hated it. He said it was too much trouble to scooch over to my side of the bed.... I loved it because I couldn't feel him tossing and turning if he was having a bad night and he has restless leg syndrome. Sorry to all you guys out there who like to cuddle, I like my sleep, cuddleless | |
