| Can you sleep when you are cuddling?

Posted: 11/29/2008 5:23:14 AM | To me that is the best thing about being in a relationship...falling asleep touching someone. I even have had a window unit put in my bedroom so I can keep the bedroom cold...creates the perfect snuggle and touch environment.
No cuddling or touching when sleeping...major deal breaker to me. Just preference no right or wrong here. | |

Posted: 11/29/2008 5:47:14 AM | | I love doing the reverse spoon; me cuddled against his back. That way I don't get too hot. If we are both too warm, butt to butt is nice too. I like to have some part of me touching him throughout the night. I do sometimes have sleep issues and have to get up to stretch, etc. If I'm wrapped up in his arms, I worry I'm disturbing him. Much easier to slip away from the back. I have never preferred sleeping alone. I haven't lived with anyone in 7.5 years, but I still sleep on one side of the bed. I have a stack of pillows on the opposite side so that I can sense something there. | |

Posted: 11/29/2008 5:52:13 AM | I can't sleep cuddling, but I do like it when one little bit is lightly touching, like a little bit of leg...especially feet or toes. I guess I am a toe cuddler? OMG. Is that weird? I do like to cuddle; but not for sleep, its better for hanging out. I need to be on my left side with a little space between us. I don't like having someone sweating on me...unless we are, um....going at it. Then sweating is A okay! | |

Posted: 11/29/2008 9:22:31 AM | | i can sleep while cuddling...but not facing my partner, it has to be spooning. resting my head on someone's chest or vice versa becomes uncomfortable over a prolonged period. however even spooning cuddling has its limits...i often snore and the only solution is to sleep on my tummy, a position which tends to not lend itself as easily to cuddling. | |

Posted: 11/29/2008 11:41:44 PM | No, you aren't the only one. I absolutely love to cuddle and sometimes I can drift off to sleep but not often. If I am cuddling then I want to be touching. Just the feeling of a man's body next to mine, his smell, feeling his breath on my skin, feeling his heartbeat against my body and if his lips are close to mine, well you can forget about sleeping. Cuddling is great, but it always leads to something more with me.  | |

I'm okay with various body parts touching during sleep but cannot sleep while in a full on cuddle with arms wrapped around arms and heads on chests etc..... That stuff just belongs in the movies! | |

Posted: 11/30/2008 4:11:19 PM | I like to cuddle before we sleep and just have that nighttime pillow talk. Just a nice way to be close and have one on one time. But once it's time for sleep, it's too hot to cuddle. He is like a giant human heating pad and radiating heat comes off him in waves. That's ok because I'm generally cold but I don't want to make him too uncomfortable.
Absolutely, positively no breathing in my face. Someone said it earlier in this post and I thought "Aha" someone like me. It works out well because I sleep on my left side on the left side of the bed and he is on his right on the other. We generally have feet or toes touching just to let the other know we're there. Somewhere early in the morning light we meet in the middle and have some cuddle time before the day begins. Best time of the day because we're both relaxed from a night's sleep. | |

Cuddling would be a problem right now though because I have problems with my arms, therefore it's hard to find a comfy position to be in by myself, let alone with someone else.
The only thing I don't like is sleeping face to face. I feel like the air is being sucked away from me. lol | |

Also, my body heat is usually really high, in summer i never even have covers, and in winter only a light sheet. I think girls appreciate this to warm up, but after awhile it's like being next to a furnace, lol. | |

But I'm a hot person and usually have to adjust for that like only being half covered so that is the only thing that bothers me.

Posted: 12/3/2008 4:39:09 AM | It depends on the cuddler, my last "cuddly sleeper" experience wasn't great because the woman I was with took my arm hostage in the middle of the night so the cuddle felt more like a painful wrestling hold. I spent most of the night trying to figure out how to get my arm back without waking her (the ross hug and roll move, the table cloth trick, etc), but none of them worked. I eventually pryed my arm out of her death grip when she temporarily woke up, but a few minutes later she took it again!! 
On the positive side, I have been with women that just 'know' how to position themselves in a cuddle and I had no problem sleeping on those occasions. | |

Posted: 12/6/2008 4:27:02 PM | I don't think I would have trouble at all sleeping if the man I will love haves his arms wrapped around me. Feeling safe and secure is my most comforting sleep feeling as long as I know I am safe, bon voyage I am off to dreamland to find Dorothy and Todo. Or Emmett Cullen (character off of Twilight movie).
