| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/15/2006 4:53:31 PM | If only the people in the middle east could listen to the song "Right In Two." Might have to change the Christianity of the lyrics, but the message is clear.
"Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground."

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/15/2006 4:56:01 PM | | I still miss the pure power and ferocity of Undertow. This will be my favorite followed closely (very) by Aenima. Then probably 10,000 Days followed by Lateralus. | |

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/17/2006 1:20:14 AM | Well this album just rocks!!! I love it. My favorite though...is a tie between Undertow and Lateralus. | |

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/17/2006 9:14:50 PM | Melancholy has consumed me. Why, oh why, would they leave me off of the tour route? I am seriously considering driving to Detroit to see them this time....I dont wanna chance the POSSIBLE added tour dates which may, or may NOT, be coming near me.
I saw them 3 times last tour and have been jonsing so bad lately for a great concert. Please you guys that go, hold up a dam sign or something for me?.. tell them to come to NC.
Thanks in advance; Desperate.

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/17/2006 11:41:38 PM | This is one of the few bands whose album I don't hesitate to buy. I knew it'll come without regrets, and I was right :P
My favorites are still schism and the patient.

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/18/2006 12:31:00 AM | ^^^^ actually the Pot goes:
dun dun - di - dun dun dun - di - dun dun dun dun - di - dun dun da di
jambi goes:
di - dun dun dun dun - di - dun dun dun dun dun
G-man....you're nuts....Tool ROCKS
but yes a lot of the same notes...different time signatures...fist couple times listening to 10,000 days I was thinking..."this sounds kinda similar to Lateralus"

don't get me wrong I like tool..................
I just think they are really stating to sound the same
"dun dun - di - dun dun dun - di - dun dun dun dun - di - dun dun da di" the fact that you get my above joke means you know exactly what I mean.........
I listen to the new album and that is all I hear
dun dun - di - dun dun dun - di - dun dun dun dun - di - dun dun da di
di - dun dun dun dun - di - dun dun dun dun dun...............etc It starts to feel like "all you can eat for the rest of your life is .....mashed potatos.................miles of mashed potatos........forever nothing else
now there are a million other bands I could not say that about

where I live there are a million 'Tool clone bands' I just laugh cause it is a really shittty trap when even the originators just sound like a copy of themselves

Hmmm I can't say that...it's Jones' rhythm style....I actually had to go back and give those tunes a second listen to post my last post....
...true as your joke my be....they still have the ability to give each tune it's own distinct voice...if you will
Ain't no "dun dun diddles" on Wings ..... I don't think....
Jones never stood out to me....I always thought Carey and Maynard made that band...so his rhythms sorta go unnoticed....although his grasp of time is HUGE...but I'm pretty sure that Carey "showed him the way" .....
....kinda like primer...essential for the paint to stick...hidden beneath the layers of genious that Carey creates....

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/18/2006 1:01:39 AM | I can take them or leave them
at times they are a little too heavy for me songs like schism and sober will remain my favorites they are not the first cd I throw in when I hop in to pick up.

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/18/2006 2:56:34 AM | ^^^Dream Theater I LOVE! And yes I have that DVD and all their studio stuff except the first without Labrie. Labrie's solo "Elements of Persuation" rocks big too.
As far as Tool, still love Undertow the best. Total anger done with power. No slow spots. Just pure emotion from beginning to end.

| new TOOL album - 10 000 Days Posted: 8/22/2006 10:05:04 AM | so, so, so lucky!! You guys are so lucky! I want tickets, too.
Still thinking of driving 600 miles to see it. I have a friend in Detroit where I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Or, I can drive 400 plus miles to PA. and stay in a motel.
I have saw them 4 times already (including OzFest) but I have no doubt the drives would be worth it.
Party down guys, I envy you all with tickets. But....it's comforting to know that summa my fishy friends will be there to support the tour. Have fun, get loud, lose your voice, rock on!!! This drinks for you>>
