Posted: 2/11/2007 6:35:02 PM | I didnt mean to get the whole Yankee/Southerner argument going. But, I do believe it is the upbringing and how you CHOOSE to live that makes the person.
Although my brother, sisters and I were all raised and have a lot of the same VALUES, we are completely different people. (Thank God!)
But, as much as I love and am proud to be from my lil town in NY....I LOVE being in the south.
God Bless America!!! North & South! And ok.....sometimes the west coast as well ;)

Posted: 6/27/2007 1:56:57 PM | As an Australian guy, I find the Southern accent very attractive. More importantly though, the Southern woman is a unique woman who for me is extremely attractive. I don't mean looks, I mean attitude.
I just returned from a month in Middle Georgia and the Cumming area as well as short trips to Alabama and Virginia and I just like everything the South has to offer.
I especially like the Cumming/Dahlonega region and the women in it.
Unfortunately I was working(Drag Racing) most of the time I was there but when I come over next time I want to find a friend who'd like to take a cruise for a day or so on a bike through the Nth Georgia Mtns....What a nice place with awesome women...
The funny thing is, I love the Southern accent, nut they also like the Australian accent for some reason.....lol...A match made in heaven....
I don't suppose there's any GRITS on here that would like to move to Australia or do the 6 months on each side of the ball thing huh....yeah, I didn't think so...damn...lol

I do so looooove southern woman for the accents and their sheer bravery. Tick one off and you'll find out in a hurry how brave she can get.

Yeah, we southern bells have a distinct way of talking that, kid as they might (uh, sne.s . aks, cough,cough), those who aren't blessed with our accent love to hear!!

I say lets post on it daily just to keep it up there. I 've been told I have no accent  where can I buy one of those ? Actually when I first moved here eveyone picked on me about having a thick south carolina accent, and not the longer I have been here I have been told I have lost all my accent and it only comes out at stray times whem I am tired. | |

LOL Apparently huh? I have been running on little to no sleep for the last few days so I am sure it's pretty dang thick right now. The bad part is .. it makes me look like death warmed over. So I don't have that pretty suthern bell face | |

I think of Perry as middle GA.
I really like the Cumming to Dahlonega area. I could live there if i had to.
Where I live in Nth Brisbane is truly a great place. But if i had to live somewhere else I'd like it to be in that area. Mind you the cold would get to me....It's Winter here now and it's getting down to 55 at night and about 70 during the day......But it won't last long and it will be back to 65 during the night and 75 during the day....
Now if i can just find a sweet Southern gal who wants to move to Australia....lol | |
