Posted: 6/21/2006 3:24:37 AM | Southerners dont really know how to cook anything except for Grits. Grits is mule food. Anybody who prefers the country to the city must love to live like an animal. I like civilization as opposed to living like a wolf. Southern accents sound awful and undignified
This is the nastiest most un-educated post I think I've ever read.... 1st of all, your generalization of what Southern people cook, is retarded... anyone that knows anything, even us IGLOO CANADIANS, know Southern folk know how to cook the best food! 2) anyone that would say sumone who prefers the country to the city must love to live like an animal, well basically, you just showed your (lack of) intelligence, which is well below an animal... what do they classify slugs as there in HOTlanta??? 3) Southern Accents are great, very friendly, warm and inviting... better any day than a wanna-be georgia rotten peach spewing nonsense. | |

My Mother was raised in the osarks of Missouri, and then met my dad, moved to Minnesota
where she never left, because 6 adult kids were northern'ers
She sure could cook up some great food like Chittlens, and greens!
I lived in the South during the 70's as I was stationed at Ft Bragg N. C. for 7 years,
Got married to a native of Fayetteville, moved back to Minnesota, because of better
job opprotunity. was married for 19 years, and then divorced her, She is a beauty, no
doubt about it, and still has the drawl after all these years of living in Minnesota.
She wasn't the greatest cook, but let me tell you, her mother sure is a great cook.
Hey give me some colared greens, black eyed peas, and some of those sliced potato's
that are covered over with corn flakes and butter, then baked! ya sar, they sur
could do a hungy man well. My kids still get to hear the slow drawl of thier family members
as they visit, but sorry, my kids are northern born, and ya know what? they have the
best of both worlds, North and South! so they are proud to be North Americans.

(my great grandmother was Cherroke tribe) My family, forebearer's fought each other
during the great civil war, something that I have no desire to do, fight my southern
brother's or their way of life. Ok I am off my soap box, I have to go make a hot dish,
and deep fry up some walleye pike, and have myself a pop, but you Southern's
go ahead and cook up some vitals, and have a soda, (coke with peanuts in it) and then
we both can watch Nascar this weekend. LOL
O yea, one more thing, I was rooting for the Oilers, but Have to say, congrats to
Carolina on their win! | |

I do enjoy some of the tradition that makes this region so unique. Experiencing various cultures and geographical locations, my conclusion is that being a true lady has nothing to do with geography. It is who you are and how you carry yourself no matter where you live or where you are from. You are right in that it's not the south or southern accent that makes a woman, it's who she is as a person. A woman's power is in her femininity, charm, style and intelligence and clever women from the east coast to west coast to Rio to Tokyo know how to use it. | |

Posted: 6/23/2006 9:26:56 PM | Being a southern gal... I'm going to have to slap yo hand looking10070.. you are not playing nicely. I'm sure there are many sweet nice northern ladies up there. I mean.. think about 9/11 I can remember seeing women (and men) coming together and helping each other. While I will agree to a point about some of the northerners who come down here, they can be very rude but not all of them. I owned a craft/needlework shop over in Panama City at one time and to be honest.... I looked forward to the snow birds coming down from Canada and the northern USA because those older people were so much nicer to deal with than the RUDE, CRUDE obnoxious(sp) kids from down here. While I have to admit to not really liking "most yankees" I'm not going to generalize and say they are all bad. Just like not all southern people are toothless... talk slow and are stupid like alot of northerners accuse us of being, even if I can't spell worth a hoot tonight.
Now, instead of you bashing the northern women you've met.. I'd much rather listen to you tell me and others how WONDERFUL us southern women are!!! So keep talking about us sweet southern bells... | |

Most women that know me will tell you I'm one of the nicest guys they've ever met I just don't tolerate the crap. Men can live alone we don't need women like the teenagers think and we sure don't need the bs we're getting now; the cheating and the lying. You all say you want honestly but if you get it you can't deal with it. I have yet to meet a woman from the north that is as sweet kind and gentle as the worse southern woman I know. They all want to play games and see just how much pain they can cause before disapearing in a poof of smoke. I know that is a bad generalzation but to be honest... everyone one I've been with just don't think like we do down here and I can never understand them. I'm sure it's because I haven't met any COUNTRY norherners.. but just to be on the safe side... I'm sticking to my southern men!!!
Oh.. and for the record.. I enjoy being single, I do not nor have I ever felt I needed a man to make me a whole person... never have and never will. It would be nice to have someone that you love dearly in your life but hey... I have plenty of other things that occupy my time!! LOL | |
