Posted: 6/26/2006 7:32:16 PM | Truth is, most yankees I've met are stuffed shirts or pissed off, not really very sociable or open like us southerners, which makes me distrustful of them, after all they did start the civil war, probably because they were sick of living in such a cold and miserable climates, I would be pissed off too. | |

Even when we aren't trying to be southern, it comes out and we just "are southern"....Yes...this southern woman loves to cook...especially biscuits and homemade cakes and of course, the fried chicken with gravy...along with mashed potatoes and fried corn.........but from my experience....we southern women can cook in more places than in the kitchen....think about it and then e-mail me!!!! | |

I have dated Northern and Southern men.......I am not going to say who I prefer...LOL
I can cook a huge Sunday dinner that would have my man drooling....give him an all over
body massage....and he will wake up the next morning with a HUGE smile....that he will wear
all day......
The South Rocks.......and Southern Women are TRUE Ladies......right down to our little pink panties..hehe...

We true southern belles have more charm, accents and all, that you'll ever know, although you're not going to see it in this post, that's for dang sure!! As far as not knowing how to cook anything other than grits and loving to live in the country, that is so far fetched that it's insane! Where do you get your information? Try it, rather she has a southern accent or not. A true southern sweetheart will not get upset if the south doesn't turn you on. She realizes its not the south or southern accent that makes a women, its who she is as a person.
Not sure I agree with that statement, Frisky. I was born and raised in the south, and whereas I don't particularly care if the south "turns you on" I DO NOT like idiots who make fun of my southern heritage! The accent, the food, the southern charm, it's all about being from the south. It's who I am!!
As for the post about the confederate flag...preach on!! It's about time someone spoke the truth about it and indentured servants. My students freak when I tell them that MY ancestors were some of the first slaves in the U.S....my heritage is German, Indian, and Irish. | |

Let's see...gravy n biscuits, salmon patties and cane syrup, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, silver queen cream corn, chicken and dumplins, fried catfish and CHEESE GRITS...and that's just to name a few things. I can also cook up a mean pot of spaghetti (not out of a jar), lasagna (from scratch, not a box from the freezer),
And for anyone who makes fun of grits, let me tell you something. I don't know what it is, but when I was growing up, well, heck, even now, whenever I'm feeling sick or just a little blue, nothing makes it all better like a hot bowl of momma's buttered grits! | |
